Prob the most interesting number I saw was the Elden Ring subreddit. The franchise has only existed for three years, yet it has already outgrown the Pokemon, GTA, Destiny, Zelda, and Animal Crossing subreddits, even though those latter franchises have been out for many more years.

Elden Ring's sub was quite big already before the game was even properly shown to the world. Hell, it reached a point where the community were so starved of info that they began creating their own lore for the damned game, it even went a bit mainstream and became a bit of a meme, I wouldn't be surprised if that contributed quite a lot to the sub's growth.

I don't really follow gta content on reddit but that's surprising to me.

Pokemon, Zelda, Animal Crossing, pretty much the Nintendo franchises, which haven't been on PC as far as I recall.

The Last of Us community has over 2 million and most of that was before the PC version of the game came out.

Pokemon and Animal Crossing are both console exclusives, and Fortnite player count is higher on console.

Subreddit member numbers are a good way to measure how popular something is in relation to other things.

It was surprising when I saw that Fire Emblem has over 500k members, always thought that is one super niche franchise.
