The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

I would love to see some of that HD transformable mecha porn.

I will never understand why some people on here were turned off by the transformational suits in Zeta. Maybe it's because I was brought up on equal parts Robotech and Gundam, but it never bothered me at all.

Oh I don't mind that they transform. I just think they look dumb.

Nothing was cool like the Valkyries or some or combines like back in the day such as Voltron.

Likewise. I was an 80s Transformers fan as a kid as well. Really, it just shows that Zeta was a product of the times, because variable mecha were all the rage in the early 80s.

I quite liked the some of the animal motifs going on in Zeta. Baund Doc is probably one of my favorites cause it drew inspiration from Anubis if I'm not mistaken. The only ones that really pissed me off were the last ones that Sarah and Reccoa piloted, now those just looked dumb to me.

I think they are unique but they did nothing for me.

Then again my taste in Gundam outside of Katoki is weird given my love of stuff like ZZ.

They probably talking about model kit which is always nightmare to build

Yet people get mad at Gundams for having simple but effective transport modes.

Wing Gundam, AGE II, and Savior. I dont understand why people get mad because the Gundam's arent hidden (they arent trying to blend in) and that allows them to be good model kits.

People didn't like the Wing Gundam's transformation? That's one of the only things I still like about it. Really the only Gundam flight tranformations I liked more were the Zeta and Kyrios.

One of Wing and Wing Ver Ka constant criticisms is that the Transformaion is dumb and serves no purpose, despite the fact even in the show its said specifically to be a high speed, transportation mode (there for proving its use and it being viable many times in said show) and not something meant to be a Transformer.

Because some of it do look silly (ie Epyon, Aegis). Compare to Macross where the design is started from plane then turn into mecha while Gundam is opposite.

Lol Ill agree Aegies looks to wacky.

Epyon I didnt mind, it was just using Hamabarbi's and it worked for me.

I didn't mean most transformable suits, I mainly just meant the stuff in Zeta cause it seems like me and like 3 people like the variety of suits in that show. Believe it or not, but Kyrios is the modern day Zeta design wise if I'm not mistaken.

I'm fine with them except the legs sticking out the back. It is apparent more emphasis was made on the humanoid form than the "bird mode" form. Zeta leg's shape just fit the wave rider mode better, and for Wing they seem more like "kibble" to use a transformers term.

I feel the same about Epyon I guess.

I would consider the AGE-2 Normal to be more Zeta like than Kyrios. It also has the ability to turn into a plane.

I did like that the AGE Gundams had a progression in design similar to Gundam -> Zeta -> ZZ. AGE-3 Fortress even reminds me of the full armor ZZ.

Interesting I still have yet to watch Age.

Then AGE-FX goes full QAN[T] Strike Freedom. xD

I'm really disappointed we probably will never see MG Age-3 kits. I really liked the Orbital version. Its very Ex-S to me.

Age-1 was a really solid MG kit.

AGE is easily one of the worst if not the worst Gundam show. There is very little it does well. The part with the AGE-2 is definitely the best part of the show.

The AGE-FX was so boring. Kio was trying to go full Kira and not kill anybody, but the AGE-FX wasn't nearly as cool as the Freedom. It was like a dull Nu-Gundam.

I love the AGE-1 for its simplicity. I think my favorite was Gundam Legilis. It was like a Zone of the Enders Orbital Frame crossed with a Gundam.

I've played Gundam Breaker 3 for 1,5 hour and since there's no OT yet, I guess I'll post my impressions here. So far I've cleared 3 missions and they seem to be way more hack and slashy than in previous games. I guess objectives will come into play later. The story about local kids playing with gunplas fits the series much more than serious tones of 2 (if I remember that part correctly).
One thing that really bugs me, aside from not being able to stream using the Share function, is the low quality of story parts. It feels like a very, very cheap visual novel with most characters having a few pictures at best. At least the mission themselves look better on the PS4.

Can't really say much about the changes, since I jumped right into the action, but after finishing the first 3 missions I finally got the ability to upgrade parts. Also, if I'm not mistaken, there are no more grades after clearing missions, which is nice.

Some screenshots. Sorry for the quality, they went through twitter first:

I agree, I was seriously hoping for a Gundam Legilis MG kit when they first announced it for the TV show. I absolutely loved the main antagonist suits in generations 2 and 3 of AGE

I think AGE 1 is easily the worst suit in the show. The simplicity design angle gets bored with how they will ove use it and AGE 1 followed O Gundam which was better at AGE 1's motif in ever way.

I still adore the line art for AGE 3 Normal and overall like the suit, sadly Orbital, Fortress and FX didn't do much for me. I really don't get the Legillis or Dark Hound love....they are just way to cheesy for me.

I really liked the Legilis because it took all the Vagan aesthetics I liked (visor, tail, beam saber hands) and shoved them onto a Gundam. Then they ruined it by giving it Gundam eyes.

Although I do agree that the Dark Hound was a bit over-the-top in terms of design, but I have to give it a pass just because it uses a lance.

The Legilis's appeal for me is that it reminds me of Anubis or Jehuty from ZoE. I didn't like the Dark Hound at all. Overall, I wasn't a fan of the suit design in AGE much at all. The federation suits were boring. The Vagan suits were definitely the best as long as they weren't just Godzilla.

Heya everyone

I have been a big fan of gundam for a long time though I have fallen a bit behind in watching the shows. I'm really interested in picking up the English version of breakers 3 but I decided I'd like to take the opportunity to finally try my hand at building a few models along with it.

Since I have never built any models before I wanted to get some advice about the differences between high grade vs Master and if it's usually recommend to start with high first. If that's the case I'll probably hold off on some of my favorites until I'm comfortable moving on to master grade, also outside of the kits themselves is there anything else I should look for, I read it's a good idea to get some specialized tools which I'm hoping I'll be able to find at hobby lobby but will probably have to get online as well.

This is actually what they were going for. All the main suits in AGE are paying homage to classic UC suits. The Age 1 is the RX-78-2, the Age 2 is the Zeta, Age 3 ZZ, and Age FX is the Nu. And let's all be honest the Dark Hound is just an overdone worse Crossbone X2.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the visor can lifted(?) up to reveal the Gundam eyes. If you wanted to, I'm sure you can leave the visor down and keep the whole Vegan aesthetics.

I would suggest you start out with a high grade to get a taste of whether or not you'll enjoy building the models (and get a hang of the techniques used to keep the quality as high as possible). Maybe after one or two HGs you'll likely be ready for a MG. Only difference really, is that there's more small parts which can move around, an inner frame, and more pieces in general. What this means for the modeler is that it'll take more time to build. Also there's a ton of grooves on the MG's, which means there's more opportunities to panel line the Gundam and give it a more detailed (and sometimes accurate) look

Personally, I would suggest you start off with these tools: 3 fine tip gundam marker (black, gray, and brown), a clipper, and a xacto or hobby knife. I personally use a box cutter to cut off nubs.

I'm still debating on whether or not I'm going to pick up the Zeta Blu-rays. I own the Anime Legends dvd collection and the jump to Blu-ray isn't that big of a deal to me, but I want to support them bringing over the other Gundam Blu-rays.

I'll definitely pick up ZZ and X when they come out.

ZZ will be bought. I will finally own a hard copy of a Gundam with a charasmatic and charming lead.

Now if that coukd just happen again in myvlife time lol.

Coming on the same day, and a few days before my birthday, how nice.

Ugh, I still need to catch up on getting the Turn A movies and the 0079 blu ray set.

Oh right, Zeta too.

Has X had a BD release in Japan yet? Might be it. Quick search on amazon.co.jp didn't see anything.

Yeah, I looked on Amazon and CD Japan. Doesn't seem like it.

I hope we get MS 08th Team on Blu-ray with that new short.

edit: Looking on Nozomi's site, they're releasing Gundam Evolve on DVD, too. I've got the Japanese release, but that's really cool.
