I mean do you REALLY REALLY like it?

You mind as well just repaint the Dark Matter. Not like the differences are even that outstanding and the Dark Matter probably look better in the original colors anyway.

Like only a few exclusive MGs worth it in my opinion like the Banshee Norn, Fenice Rinascita Alba, Tallgeese 2/3, maybe the X2.

I really do like it. And I'm not really a fan of the Dark Matter version (the upturned tips on the feet looks silly) and I don't have the patience to paint.

LOL, i see these terms are getting around huh? hey who's teaching you these bad words? lol jk, not really bad.

not sure what gochu means in gaming/anime community but that's the nickname for "tiny" hahaha.

i gotta say unicorn is gosu and zeta as well. i haven't started victory and X but i keep hearing they're "tiny" in terms of greatness.

No I just have korean friends they mess around and tell me shit like this 제시카정... 나, 너생각하다가 좃물나왔어요. all the time and I have no clue what is going on.

They told me gochu means pepper or dick in slang.

same goes for me speaking and them not understanding. It is great having other international students as friends.

Wow, uh, that Astaroth... I think they're getting me to buy yet another kit from IBO. I just love the huge buster sword it has, and those promotional pictures with it just striking the classical Obari pose isn't making it any easier to resist buying it, I can tell you that! lol.

I also dig the asymmetrical look it has, PLUS it reminds me a bit of the Strike, so come May and it'll be here on my shelf, probably.

Amazon said I wouldn't get my HG Gundam ZZ till April but it came today...damn, it looks pretty intimidating. :0 Plus the instructions aren't in English partially like the Barbatos and Qubeley was, though I don't think it should be too hard still.

Real answer? A lot of them are highly detailed and OK when you're drawing them for a manga or MSV book, but absolute monsters to actually animate.

Same reason the 00 Season 2 had the more streamlined suits.

it's getting warmer now in NJ, i might start to gunpla again. (it was freezing before to concentrate)

anyways, this retro gaming is pretty cool, i tried gundam journey to jaburo for a few mission but it felt clunky. i'll try and give it a go again.

Is that a a RG Atraea Type F box behind the TV?

That Hyakuren was the last kit in my backlog and until the current school term is over I won't have the money to get anything new. So basically I'm stuck panel lining and decaling all the kits that I've been putting off.

Also I've been watching Casshern Sins, it's weird hearing Tōru Furuya voice Casshern since I've only heard him in Gundam roles.

I've picked up my Gunpla building again. Collected some kits over the years but never really got around to building them. I have some kits from 15 years back, a 1/100 Wing and Deathscyte, a 1/144 Wing, and from 8 years ago a 1/100 Exia and Dynames.
Two years ago I picked up the MG RX-78-2 Ver 3, and happily built that over a weekend. Tried panel lining for the first time and topcoating with a flat spray. Really liked doing that.
Then a year ago I started buying kits again with the intention of handpainting them, so I ordered some Tamiya paints and brushes etc, but just never found the time.
I restarted watching practically the whole UC a couple of months back, after watching Reconguista and following IBO right now. I completed the HGBF Build Strike two weeks ago, and have the following lined up for the coming months/ year:

HG Gundam G-Self
MG Gundam Fenice Rinascita
MG Sinanju Ver Ka.
RG Freedom Gundam
RG Gundam "Zephyranthes" Full Burnern
RG Gundam 00 + Raiser
RG Astray Red Frame
RG Wing Gundam
RG Mk-II Titans Ver.
PG Wing Zero Custom Pearl Coating
1/100 Metal Gear Ray

And pre-orders for:
PG Unicorn Final Battle Ver.
RG Qan[T]
HG Gundam Full Armor Type
HG Zaku II High Mobility Ver.
1/48 Skell

Right now I'm building the HG G-Self, and I'm going to try some handpainting of the frame for the first time. I want to give the frame the gunmetal look with gold accents. I will also try dry brushing some weathering effects for the first time.

I actually want to buy an airbrush some time later this year, to really take the models to the next level with a paint job. Does anybody here airbrush their kits?

amiami's ok but you're SOL if your item is damaged or try to cancel pre-orders. i'd go w amazon in the future as they'll cover items that are stolen damaged etc plus you can cancel before orders ship out. much better customer service in imo

I don't know what's up but the HG Gundam ZZ's head wobbles---I followed the instructions and nothing seems broken but it has like no "neck muscles" really bothers me. It's also way smaller than I thought it'd be, isn't it one of the bigger MSs? Pretty nice looking though.

Went to the HobbyTownUSA in Las Vegas and was shocked by how nice their selection was. They were having a sale and I was able to finally find an MG Jesta! I also got a blue Graze 1/100 and a Chara plate for my Barbatos.

Still can't find a damn GP-01FB in store, tho...

HobbyTown normally has a pretty OK selection, especially if you go in when they restock. Be sure to tell us about that Jesta when you get it built.

i only use them as backup. i think nippon yasan used to put stuff in packages but no longer do.

everyone, you guys want to know the best gundam related game?

it's Target Earth for SEGA Genesis also known as Assault Suit Leynos.

the Assault Suit series is the closest thing to gundam imo:

i just had a battle entering the atmosphere and had to board a shuttle or risk being burnt up.

also has a cute girl that secretly gives you extra continues if you select game level and hit start in the options menu:
