No real way for most of us to watch it. Haven't even seen 2.
All of her OSTs were the best in that era.

Not debating. I just think from what I've heard, Escaflowne, Turn A and Macross Plus are my favorites from her.

There were some subs that were passable, though it was a Japanese -> Spanish -> English translation

Yeah this and the latter half of last year has been good for Gundam anime and me! Rewatching Wing for the first time since toonami days...Its dub is hilarious.

hey! i found a clip of her singing in America. I saw this episode on TV when i was little!!!!! Man Steve Harvey was just mocking her, not really shown in the clip to play up the crowd that was snickering and laughing as she came on stage (you can see it a bit in the clip but there was more) and then BOOM!!! she wins the contest that night!

It was on sale on Amazon for $43 plus shipping this weekend, then it jumped to $74... crazy I know. I think Rightstuf still has it for a non insane price though. second half is still about $50.

Holy shit those things are expensive. Never mind the transformable figure is super rare and expensive. I've only seen 2 kits on ebay though. If the third is Allen's then damn, nobody has it.

Yyyup. I have the kits for Escaflowne and Alseides, but I've only built Esca, and that was like 15 years ago, and I only used paint on the sword hilt and blade. I'm considering painting the rest of it white and doing some weathering.
Then I need to get some specific paints before I tackle Alseides. Purple and clear purple aren't used in many models, so that's money that will only go to this one model.
Yeah, the third is Allen's Scherezard.

I guess Bandai really didn't like or make money on that show cause they're not refreshing those kits ever I bet. Great mech designs too though.

The Escaflowne kits are pretty horrible, BTW. I was mostly joking when I said to buy them. Only if you really love Escaflowne and want to put in a bunch of work on them.

Yeah. I'm going to go to Midtown Comics again and see what other kits they have, I guess I'm hooked now. If they don't have the Mkii revive I'll get it from gundam planet and still get another kit.

What was wrong with it? Good characters, great villains, minus the final final villain, good mech design, great soundtrack.
Let's just say not a single thing you listed as good do I agree with. Mostly the cast, it's like a cast of Quess.
Lead suit design is cool though.
Hmm. Now I want to rematch an old mecha show. Hmm gotta think about which it will be.

Nobody is as deluded as Quess on that show...I'm not going to debate it your tastes are um, well unique to say the least, which was evidenced by your Gundam ranking list. Though I'll admit, weird shit was afoot for the second half of Escaflowne.
I meant my general hatred of said cast and not how insane they are.
Anyway I think I'll go with Genesis Of Aquarion, we can use some good models this to damn it Bandai.

I know of Aquarion, but I've never seen it. I usually don't like CG in my anime. I don't know how I've made it through Siddonia.
It's rough I won't lie, but overall it pulled it off.
Plus I love the characters of Apollo, Sylvia, and Tsubasa.

i watched season 1 of the Aquarion, bc the famous Macross director that i mentioned designed gp -01-02, created it. i felt it could've been better.

Did you watch the Aquarion OVA for the original cast?
Million times better. Not Macross Plus levels of good, but still vast improvement over Aquarion and a cool rebelling that offed the douche bag Serious before the show starts making it 100000000000000x better.

This is DNA2 as far as I got online for the first time and just truly believed I would be with the majority and every one would hate the piece of filth.
Yet it turns out I'm just out of my damn mind and everyone else loved it and I can't figure it out.
The only thing more shocking then someone saying that Esca was good are peeps who like NA OG Sailor Moon and think Wedding Peach is better then Sailor Moon.
It's weird it's not just Gundam who's mechs I disagree on.
Getter 1 is ugly and Trash. Shin getter is worse for being based on it.
Mazinger Z and Kaiser are ugly and worse then Great and Grendizer are easily better.
King Gainer is awful and the worst cast of all time.
Ame No Morakumo is dumb but better then most Gundam Designs.
Cross Ang has better me ha then any Gundam since.
Aquarion has the best Male lead since Ryoma from Getter Fame
Riddle is the best character in Unicorn.
I may have just gave every mecha fan heart attacks.
Oh yeah Kira/Athrun is hotter and better then Yaoi in Wing and Kira/Lacus.
I don't really like getting into other mecha franchises on the Gundam OT, but I can't be quiet when an injustice is done. Escaflowne is so superior to Aquarion. Yoko Kanno did a collaboration on the OST for Aquarion. So some of the BGM wasn't even done by her and you could tell. Escaflowne has it beat there too. I didn't think Aquarion was bad (the second one was kusoge as our Japanese friend Shun would put it), but its fodder compared to Escaflowne. Escaflowne is fucking timeless though. I love Kawamori, but Aquarion isn't his best work.

I think the writing in EVERY Gundam is pure trash.
Riddle though has the best design and best suits and he gets big notable kills. In this context he is easily the best as he stands out and he Rocks Delta and Banshee Norn.

Yes but JadedWriter it doesn't change the fact it's something more then 99% of pilots can claim and what's more if you don't care about it, it isn't going to be a blemish on him.
I know Gundam has its story defenders and more power to them, but I can't act like another terrible character getting killed is a negative in the face of Delta Plus.
I've tried to get into the writing of Gundam, believe me I want to. I just can't bring myself to do it with very few exceptions (Judau, Haman, Dorothy, Treize) but in Unicorn everyone is so ugly and and the writing is so bad characters come down to look and what they pilot.
to me Unicorn is Mecha porn at its best and I really view it's story in the same light as I would an awful porno, just throw away.

Just picked up HG Revive MKII in Titans colors and HG tv Wing Gundam. How good are the HG Zeta and HG Kyrios sets?
Be very careful with the Wing head. Many people say the very fin is super loose.

HG Kyrios is solid from my experience.
Though be careful not to snip the faceplate in two when getting it off the runner, it's a small piece. I did that. I cemented it back together but yeah.

What didn't make sense? Like, I would agree that character motivations and pacing weren't the best they could be, but the overall plot at least made sense.

Nonsense. The HGAC Wing is awesome.
It's an almost stress-free build with a final result I have almost no issues with. Things I don't like:
1) The Buster Rifle has a couple, bad nubs on the bottom side. In a straight build these are generally visible only in Bird Mode though.
2) Two loose pieces. The v-fin (a little) and one of the chest vents (allot). A dab of glue on each has permanently fixed the problem.
3) The green, crescent-shaped sticker for the shield is a pain to apply. That's the only tough sticker though. On a High Grade. I'm not complaining.
There are also a couple color inaccuracies like the teeny head vulcans, the chest vulcans, and the inner sections on the red feathers that should be white but I personally don't care about those and the kit nails everything else. Perfect balance, great poseability, does all the Wing gimmicks. Have fun with it.
