The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

Ein is literally a robot systematically killing people.
The show isn't being subtle at all about the symbolism either. We're supposed to hate him.

Edit: Sorry for the double post. I meant to edit this into the last one but it slipped my mind.

It's not like he's killed innocents or anything
yet
. He might as well be
an insane robot now
, but that's literally no different from almost every Cyber Newtype ever. And I don't really agree that we're supposed to hate him, otherwise the show wouldn't have attempted to characterize him with all those "tragic" half-Martian backstory and bonding with Gaelio, as half-assed as those scenes were.

Even aside from whatever personality or lack thereof, I can still like him as a character that adds actual tension to a seemingly tension-less struggle that's been most of the show.

There could be collateral damage from him bringing an Ahab Reactor in. Traffic lights going off could cause wrecks and deaths. Hospitals with people on life support will die too. Even Tekkadan has had like no collateral damage. They've acted very much like a military organization. Ein has no sense of right and wrong anymore. Just revenge. His sense of duty is gone. That's what got him into the situation in the first place. I do dislike him thoroughly. Don't let your shit baggage get other people killed, fuckface.

But everything they did with his personality and backstory, even as little as it was, was thrown away when they made him Throne Ein. Hell even before he became a robot the one redeeming thing he did was to save Gali Gali, and really the characterization from that was more abut Gaelio.

Now he is as insane as you can get, and there is no reason to like him. He charged into the city (RangerBAD already mentioned why this is a problem) not to fight orphans, but to kill Kudelia who is not involved in the combat, and doesn't even really have a way to defend herself. Just so he can get revenge for someone who didn't even want to fight child soldiers in the first place.

I do get that he is really the first actual threat in the show, and I appreciate that, but as a character I fucking hate Ein. Gaelio is cool though, I've come around on him.

No scan pics for whatever archaic reason but some quick Gunpla info:

HGUC Full Armor Unicorn (Destroy Mode) red psychoframe version announced. June release. Surprise, not P-Bandai. Comes with that hyper beam javelin.

HGCE Force Impulse REVIVE can separate into Chest Flyer/Leg Flyer/Core Splendor. Also comes with Silhouette Flyer.

Those murmurs of an RG Unicorn later this year might not be true then if we're getting this beast in June. It's not out of the question. gg did say it's certain we're getting an RG from the Unicorn series this year (... albeit with absolutely no source), and I can't imagine not releasing the Unicorn itself first.

Admittedly, on closer inspection, those decals all over that HG look like RG decals.

What are the odds of an RG Sinanju or Byarlant Custom?

Byarlant is getting very little attention. It didn't even get an MG, and Unicorn wasn't stingy with the MGs. A RG of that isn't happening.

I want a Sinanju RG so bad. If Unicorn does happen, it's not a bad bet.

I guess the frame for the Byarlant is too weird. A lot of my favorite Zeta suits are just HG's how old are those kits any way?

Hey guys, new in here. So I've finished Zeta and the ending left me feeling hollow and ZZ's goofiness isn't helping. Should take a break from ZZ? Is Stardust Memory okay to watch at this point? Because I've read that I should watch Gundam in production order because some of the spin-offs spoil the main story.

Just watch them do an RG Methuss...
lol

as i was in the same boat as you about a month ago... recommended by everyone here, i would go and finish ZZ.

ZZ is great though. The silliness lasts for a while, but I think it is probably just as good as Zeta Gundam overall.

You could probably watch Stardust Memory now, it wouldn't spoil anything at this point, since the only reference it makes to other works is teasing some Zeta stuff. To be honest though, the only reason to watch Stardust Memory is for the well-animated action scenes. The story and characters are pretty bad.

If you are getting burned out on UC Gundam though, you can always watch an AU Gundam series such as G Gundam for a change of pace.

lol

Oh I'll def finish it but I'm not feeling it right (currently in ep. 11).

Yeah I've read that ZZ gets better but I'll probably take a break and watch Stardust Memory although I've read some conflicting opinions, some love it and others hate it. I've enjoyed the Gundam OVAs way more but maybe it's because I've only seen the really good ones (War in the Pocket, MS Team), I really liked the OP of Stardust Memory so my expectations are high. Thanks!

if you look back a few pages i was saying the same exact thing at the same place. i was about to give up bc it was just too tough to watch not knowing if things will change. i think about 15 is when things begin to change. trust me, i know it was hard. i was posting here like crazy. lol

star dust is my favorite of all time. i watched that so many times.
you're almost there! just a few more episodes.

Stardust Memory leads into Zeta, so it's okay to watch. It's the story of Kou not eating his goddamn carrots, stopping yet another revival of Zeon, and has a number of seconds about the formation of the Titans.

It's pretty alright. Top notch mecha design and a couple of interesting characters. The characterization is pretty uneven, however, because of the director changing some way through, and it's fairly noticeable. It's only 13 episodes, so it's not that much to put up with. Watch it for the opening/ending songs, if nothing else.
Don't come to me just 'cause you're lonely tonight, lonely's only part of your game~

That said, it has Nina Purpleton.

Nina Purpleton is a shit waifu, even I don't defend her and I defend Katejina.

The S Gundam prototype? It's a Ka Signature Series action figure, like XI Gundam got. Tamashii Webshop exclusive.

Damn I got all excited thinking they will make a Ex-S Gundam 2.0 MG. The original MG is good, but lacking a lot of details.

To be fair, a RG Unicorn would basically be a frag grenade.

I could have lived without another HG Unicorn, but I guess you don't have to buy two kits to make FA with red psychoframe now. The stickers do help it.

I don't think the HG Full Armor Release with that decal set is signaling no RG and I think Bandai is still going to attempt it.

I don't think we'll see a FA version of the RG, though. Asking for a transformation at 1/144 scale probably means the idea of holding all that equipment is too much of an ask.

Looks like something new popped up in the "Mobile Suit Archives: MSN-06S Sinanju" book.

Nu Gundam II and Sinanju Stein colored red.

I can't verify the following info, but here's what they say, take with a grain of salt for now and get ready for retcons:

Unicorn Proto Type Nu Gundam II

It was later redesigned to be retrofitted with the new Psycho Frame which became Sinanju Stein.

Anaheim sold the suit to Full frontal and it was there where it was completely remodeled

Unicorn Gundam was later re-built from the ground Up using amuro reys data

Yeah but yours will actually be panel lined and have decals.

I look forward to putting that off for three to six months.

try and at least panel line the HG's... it's pretty easy. the decals for RG are the most time consuming bc of the trimming that needs to be done but it's worth doing to make it stand out.

It's not so much that I don't do it, just that I don't do it right away. Panel lining I might put off for a few days to a couple of months depending on my mood, and how much I like a kit. Decaling really depends on how much I like a kit. It'll get done eventually.

cool. which kit are you going to start with out of your haul?

AE should have called it Nuer Gundam.

I always thought the sinanju stein was a dumb name. It is the original sinanju, canonically. Why would it have a modified name.

One of the HGs, but which one maybe depends on how the last episode of IBO goes.
Probably the Hyakuri.

I like Nu-two Gundam better.

I don't get the Sinanju name thing either, why would Full Frontal drop the Stein part?
