The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

I want to kiss whoever came up with the idea of having the entire shield be a huge metallic gold base part, with everything else snapping on top of it. And then I want to kiss whoever listened to that idea and went "okay". Lol.

Bumped the price up to 4104 yen, apparently (I believe RGs usually run a bit less?), but I'm not gonna complain.

It's in line with the MG to RG price ratio though. Normal MGs run abuot 3000-4000yen, and the RGs go for 2000+yen. The Sinanju is alraedy a 6000+yen MG, so the RG being 4000+yen is expected even without extras like that. It's a bigger and more complex kit with more detail.

The trim being a separate part is a fantastic addition. Sinanju looks spectacular. Super excited to grab it at some point. Definitely one of my favorite designs.

At this point that has to be the prototype for a PG when it comes to the gold parts.

No way Sinanju doesn't eventually make the cut, and we need something large that can really make use of the tech.

Don't get my hopes up like that. We haven't gotten a non-Gundam PG in ages, and if any suit deserves it, it's Sinanju. It'd be expensive as shit, but I'd figure out how to buy it.

Glorious. Entire gold underparts? That are chromed? Bandai's not holding back at all on this release. The price point concerns me a little bit - That... seems pretty cheap for all the chrome we're getting and all the work that must have gone into this. I hope Bandai doesn't skimp on the bazooka or something and not give it to us!

Some better RG Sinanju pics. That red looks kinda glossy, though it may just be the lighting.

No, the red is definitely glossy. If you look at the gray on the piping or the tomahawk handles, they're flatter. The red looks glossy on the runner too but who knows what we'll get.

Edit: Considering that Bandai makes a point of showing off the gold and red runners, I'm guessing the red will come glossy. Jesus that makes this premium.

Hands down gotta have that mg full armor gundam. Hory shit that along with the freedom 2.0 will turn some eyes. Glad it is not pbandai exclusive.

That rg is going to my first too. I hate stickers so I gotta buy it to show my support

Psycho zaku is already a must buy just waiting on the pics

Sinanju looks good as heck. THE CHROME MAN, THE CHROME

I do want to see how it looks under less extreme lighting though. Gloss is a no go on a MS.

The unique selling points for Sinanju RG as listed on the display card are:

- The thrusters in the backpack and the legs can be open and shut (expansion gimmick)
- No stickers for the trimmings, full metallic gold parts
- Full gloss coating to showcase the linework on the curved surfaces based on the design concept
- Exposed internal regions feature mechanical details from Katoki's design

This is going to be an expensive summer. :D
After looking at all of the videos of the Freedom 2.0, it's gone from a "skip" to "NEXT PURCHASE NOW", even though I haven't seen the actual show it comes from.
Also, that Sinanju looks beautiful. I showed it to my girlfriend and she immediately told me to order two of them, even though she doesn't build much. She's into it. lol

I've been working on the MG RX-78-2 2.0 and it's way too much fun. Poseability is 10/10, but his feet feel really fragile and the cover flaps keep falling off. :/

Unrelated, but kinda related: Is Gunpla really big in Singapore? My girlfriend will be there for the next four months, and she wants to stock up on all of the stuff I probably can't find in the US. Any ideas? She's in Sembawang.
That and the Sinanju Stein.
Ya crushed mah hopes, mate.

Actual gold parts, in 1/144 scale. They did it.

The absolute madmen.

They did it.

Given all the layered parts they've done in RGs in the past, there was no question they could do it. It would just be a cost question and I'm glad they made that choice.

If the Ver. Ka MG were made today, I'm certain it would've had inlayed parts as well. Here's hoping we get a PG in that style as well. The Sinanju deserves it.

MG Sinanju had waterslides tho.

But yes this is freaking amazing. I wish this was available at 1/100 scale but I'm not gonna complain.

Where I will complain is where the hell is my 1/100 Kshatriya. Come on son. and MG G Self.

Gundam is big in Asia. Period. You might have some dirty chinese knockoffs but those are okay if they're by the Taiwanese Dragon Momoko that company does some good shit. Other knockoffs can be good too but a ton of misses rather than hits.

It's pretty popular but you'll want to shop at specialist shops rather than big shopping malls to avoid paying ridiculously overpriced recommended retailer pricing. You'll find a much better range at these stores too.

I have no idea what's unavailable in the US though. I usually get my stuff from HobbyArtGallery: https://www.facebook.com/HobbyArtGallery

If you're a fan of collectibles and toys in general, not just gunpla, it might be worth asking her to check out China Square Central in Chinatown on weekends. That's when the toy stores there open up and there are more vendors doing open flea markets with lots of random stuff. Old toys, gashaphon sets, figures, etc.

Don't really think you can find knockoffs here in Singapore easily. At least I never see most stores carrying them. Probably easier to find those in Hong Kong and Taiwan? Maybe I'm not looking in the right places. Lol.

MG Kshatriya is never coming without some ridiculously leaps in engineering tech. Bandai has stated that suit would need metal parts in order to support the wing binders with a frame and that's not a thing they do anymore.

A simplified RE/100 is a sure thing, though. I'm honestly surprised it's not the next one. We'll see that sooner than later.

I'm not asking for the MG, I mean the 1/100 Kshatriya that was teased for the Reborns line.

Which I am still impatiently waiting for ahhhhhhhh..

I mean if it means having to use a screw for the binders I am all for it. But really the RE1/100 was confirmed for production I just want it sooner rather than later....

Nah it is definitely easier to find in places like Hong Kong, Taiwan, even Thailand. Thailand and Malaysia I think also get the Hobby Japan exclusives and they have a bandai retailer there, alongside the knockoffs.

Philippines has them too, both official and knockoff.

Like legit Bandai Namco is huge in Asia. Gundam popularity in Asia is not understated.

Speaking of ridiculous shit, when I showed a friend the pics of the RG Sinanju, he was like "NEO ZEONG!!!!!" and I told him to just shove it into the HG Neo Zeong. :p

(That's what they did with the GN Arms and RG Exia anyway right?)

That wasn't a production plan. That was Bandai gauging interest from fans about what they wanted next. Kshatriya got a huge response, so it will be coming. Like I said, I'm shocked we don't have it yet.

They've usually done re releases of HG attachments like the GN Arms and METEOR in RG colors with new decals as P-Bandai exclusive. RG Sinanju will likely work in the Zeong and I would not be surprised to see the armor part of that kit get a similar re-release.

Thats what they did for RG Freedom/Justice and the METEOR unit too.

Have your friend gattai your gunpla.

My leaks during G Tekketsu prove that anything is possible.

sorry I apologize I misread the intent then. I'm just really impatient for it, especially with how many strides there have been in Gunpla detailing and technology in the past couple years from both Bandai and 3rd party.

I just don't want to be disappointed with a lackluster product when there is so much improvements.

Seeing the Sinanju gives me higher expectations because of the whole lack of seals and improved molding for the Zeon symbols.

I sure hope that the reason RE Kshatriya is taking so long is bandai giving it enough engineering time to get it right like they did with PG Unicorn. It's going to be a really important release for that line and is going to color the whole scale for a lot of people purely due to that suit's popularity. Given how hit or miss that scale has been, they really need to hit that one out of the park if it's going to stick.

A flopped Kshatriya could really endanger the viability of that scale long term. It's a really important release.

I know it's huge, I live here! I'm just saying it seems rare to see knockoff kits sold openly here in Singapore, unless I'm shopping in the wrong places!

Bandai Namco Games has a HQ here, and I'm pretty sure the English Gundam games coming out these days for Asia are being localized here!

Sorry again exam period is making my head and ability to read not function right. (꒦ິ⌑꒦ີ)

A lot of the third party is sold online or through a middle man. In other parts of Asia they have a store for it from the place I visit but a lot of it is through a middle man who gets stock from the company like BTF or Dragon Momoko and keeps a stock of like 80+ units in a warehouse.

the most important part I think for a lot of people is keeping color separation and minimizing seals. period. At the very least provide waterslides for the neo neon symbols like the do for MG Sinanju if they do not go with the proper molding

Bandai has the technology to do it they just don't wanna eat the cost and want to reuse as much as possible unless they know they can inflate the cost to make up for it.

Like to me articulation isn't as big of an issue as detailing and molding is.

Was at the show all day. Sooo tired. They did a good job with the RG Sinanju, looked really great! Excited for more Build fighters. I'm a bit let down that HG 200 was just the revive hyaku shiki though.

Erm, you were there and you failed to steal the display kit? :(

I was feeling pretty meh at the initial Sinanju announcement, but the way they did the gold details makes it a must for me. My unpainted MG hangs its head in shame.

Most new kits don't really excite me and my fav suits have kinda been done, but new construction techniques always pique my interest.

Looks like the the IBF dub is being aired on TOONAMI in the US, likely starting in June.

New acquisitions:

Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans
Hunter x Hunter
Dimension W

Do you figure the Hyaku Shiki's paint is final? It looks horrid.

More we see of RG Sin the more hype I get. Totally sold on it and now Bandai needs to give us every other grade using this tech.

Also digging the P Bandai RG Gold Frame. I'll be grabbing it for sure.

The FedEx guy woke me up to deliver my copy of Gundam Breaker 3 (Vita). Unfortunately, I haven't touched my Vita in so long, I now have to wait for it to charge. BAH! :(

what's that? hyaku shiki with a marasai head?
It's a gold plated Shiki mass production type.

They brought out a P Bandai version of it at Launch with Shiki 2.0 but it had the ugly yellow plastic gold and now it has a plated version.

Never has got the satin gold of the Shiki 2.0 but I imagine we will see a Shiki 2.0 with full Gold Plating if they are doing the Kai now.
