So far EX-S had a cameo in Build Fighters as one of the earlier suits built by Mao and it's a playable unit in Gundam Extreme VS, though its pilot is left as a plain black male silhouette with no features at all.

I think it's pretty clear given how the production went that Bandai never thought it was going to take off and gave zero fucks about it.

They began the partnership as a quick way to fill a gap in the model line post-ZZ. By the time they were done concepting it with MG, Bandai had moved to CCA and didn't really care about Sentinel anymore. Bandai showed one kit and let the project go into hiatus. When fans started doubting the existence of the project, a magazine editor got pissy and published a bunch of concept material to prove it was real. Fans then basically shamed Bandai into completing it.

Joke's on Bandai, the novel became pretty popular for what it was and they don't really have the ability to do much beyond release new kits of it.

Sentinel is what launched Katoki's work in Gundam as well.

Ex - S was the first major Lead Gundam he designed then went to create monsters like Zero EW and Unicorn.

It's not just you JadedWriter. I wanted that Tetra since BF aired.

So who exactly are the best robot designers? I know Katoki is up there and Kawamori does some good shit too.

My personal favorites are Katoki, Okawara, and Dynamic Production (several designers but all amazing).

I'm honestly not high on many new Mecha designers so I'm a bit of a dinosaur.

I can't even name that many mecha designers outside of Okawara, Kawamori (he isn't new) Katoki and Yoji Shinkawa.

Some other Okawara designs on there too, looked like Dougram and probably others I missed.

Yup, this is gonna be one of my P-Bandai dips. I'm excited to see how much work Bandai will put into this as the Blast pack is pretty sophisticated: Swivel points for the missile launchers, rail cannons, and beam cannons (and handles), storage racks for the beam javelins, the fact that we'll be getting beam javelins at all as opposed to the usual beam saber fare (you better, Bandai!). And of course the fairly detailed color scheme overall. Little worried about some bad stickers tbh but I want to be optimistic.

I've wanted one of these for a while. I'll probably copy that scene where Kira takes a swing after Shinn attacks Cagalli and dodges.

If you like super detailed designs I recommend you look into Taku Sato's work.

It was a sight to behold with both his details and the Models coming together.

He didn't do Anime (as far as I'm aware) but he created remained versions of Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Grendizer, Shin Getter, and Getter Dragon.

Sadly he passed on, but I love and really am in awe of what he did before he was taken.

Not all Gurren fans know it, but Gurren owes pretty much everything people love about it to the Getter series as it did the same thing decades before.

Same goes for Aquarion which in some ways is both a bigger homage/rip off then Gurren was, I just actually like Genesis of Aquarion.

How is Getter and Mazinger? I usually don't watch too much super robot stuff. Probably the closest thing to it for me is Rahxephon.

If you like Domon from G Gundam you need to watch them.

Ryoma (main pilot of Getter 1/Dragon) and Koji make them look him and Shinn look like Heero as far as hot blooded goes.

Beyond that though Getter is amazing. It was from a different time, and the story lines tend to be much darker then the majority of Gundam's and the music and animation are wonderful.

I don't recommend Mazinger Z though, granted people think I'm fucking crazy but Ufo Robo Grendizer is a far better show, with better mecha, story, characters and writting.

Getter Robo, Getter Robo G, and Getter Armageddon are must watches as far as I'm concerned.

I'll probably just watch everything. How long are the shows? If I can watch a ton of Macross in a couple of weeks I highly doubt this would be impossible. Besides I caught up with Naruto in less than a year. How hard could this be?

Nothing to bad actually.

Both Getter Robo and G are 50 episodes each and Arm is 7 episode OVA.

If you interested in more Getter you can look into Neo Getter Vs Shin which has what is in my opinion the second best Getter Robo and its only a five episode ova if I remember right.

Getter Robo OG is Sub only.....


Getter Robo G....has a dub that is far worse then 90s Sailor Moon in that they changed the name of the show, the characters and story lines and they made them way worse.

An example. Benki is introduced so he can pilot Getter Posidon, has inhuman strength and plays base ball. They changed Benki's name to Foul Tip.....yes the baseball terminology all because of his introduction. Avoid this travesty unless you want to laugh at it.....it was called Starvengers and gives me nightmares.

Getter Arm has a pretty damn good Dub but there is something lost when you don't hear Ryoma's JPN voice actor scream out Change Dragon/Getter 1 so I always recommend Sub.

That is probably the SRW fan girl in me talking though as far as loving the screams.

G Gundam dub isn't bad.

Love Aquarions dub as well which was pretty great.

I actually prefer G Gundam and Wing in Dub to Sub. Dorothy in dub sounds absolutely batshit and like she will stab out Relena's eyes if given the chance.

OO dub is sooooo bad.

Having Brad be Setsuna was so damn awful. Not to mention if they did have him do a lead he needed to be Ribbons given Amuro in JPN voiced Ribbons.

I actually like Wings dub. Who even voiced Dorothy? And it's not Brad's fault he got the most boring character to play. Surprised they didn't give him Allelujah.

I know it's never happening. I don't think anybody would buy it any way. I wonder if the western set will come with the apology from Tomino as well.

Picking up on Glory of the Losers again since Zeonic decided to really crank on it and get caught up. Yep. That manga is really damn good. I have some problems with the pacing, as it tends to assume you've watched the show and it can gloss over certain details, but overall it's such a damn upgrade over the (terrible) original series.

Seeing Altron Ka and Deathscythe Hell Ka get a ton more action is a huge plus too.

Only real negative are some terrible new designs in the series like Tallgeese Flugel, but the improvements are worth putting up with that crap for.
