Where do you guys buy your Gunpla online?

HobbyLink Japan

There's even a sale going on right now.

I decided to give this youtube thing a go. Nothing fancy since I'm still learning how to edit and put these things together. First up is an unboxing of the HG Vidar!

Interesting that there are english descriptions on the manual. I don't recall ever seeing that in any of my Gunpla manuals (though to be fair, I haven't built THAT many Gunpla models yet).

On an unrelated note, has anyone ever told you sound a lot like Cam Clarke?

Whenever I build a MG Zaku 2.0, I'm like "never again", and promise myself to buy aftermarket parts for the power cables.

Then I forget and hate myself.

If you have Prime, Amazon's a great place. The only problem is that they get newer kits well after their initial release. So you need to be patient, or looking for slightly older kits.

HLJ's another great alternative.

It's a fairly new thing. I noticed it first in the Guncannon Revive, and it's seemingly all over the place in the newest kits.

Thanks guys. Just ordered MG Fenice for my buddy and MG Amazing Red Warrior for myself from HLJ. I'll be back home for the holidays and we'll be sitting down to assemble them together. Looking forward to it. It won't just be the first time I've assembled an MG, but the first time I have even seen one in person.

Worked on both this year. Amazing kits. The red is the most poseable kit I have worked on and is one of my favs out of my collection. due note stickers are easy to put on but a hassle to get just right.

Looks great! I am excited. That box art is so boss.

This has been a blast. 0083 is my all time favorite Gundam
And I don't care how wrong anyone thinks that is.
It's what first got me into Gundam when I found it in the video store near 15 years ago.

Rewatching it has been crazy fun so far. I love the atmosphere, the characters, the music, the action and the foreboding sense of war and misery as people die on the battlefield and things actively go to shit. One thing that's been fun is watching it Dubbed but with Subtitles on, and seeing what the English Dub decided to do in order to match lips. Unlike most dubs it seems like 0083 just went for "If they swore or used an insult add in another for good measure" just to hit the necessary number of flaps.

My Dad has been enjoying quite a bit too. Right now it's equal to 8th MS Team or 0080 for him, feeling those are the best two OVA Gundams he's seen. He was slightly less enamored with Episode 5, feeling that Nina and Kou's relationship struggles could've used better dialogue, only he didn't disagree with their rocky romance. Otherwise he loved the episode's action and the Delaz Fleet's broadcast threatening war.

Even though I love it I freely admit there's issues, especially with Nina. So I'm interested to see how he feels about her as we get further into the series.

Watching the non remastered ZZ gundam just reminds me of how good of a job they did with MSG and Zeta. Those shows look lightyears better.

The English text is pretty new actually. Just within this year I do believe.

I've never heard I sounded like Cam Clarke before! I'll have to check it out.

I did another video unboxing the new HG Bugu if anyone is interested https://youtu.be/6XHH6ECeiAQ

Well fuck.

At least tell me they are swapping it out for a Zaku.

They're planing on building one that moves (more than the head and cockpit). Last I heard it should be done by the 2020 Olympics.

Glad I got to see it and Gundam Front in 2014, but my wife and I are going back to Japan in 2018 with our daughter. I was hoping to get a picture of the two of us in front of the big guy. Oh well. :-/

Yeah. It just came back. There was ever so brief time where TRU stocked a LOT of Gunpla. MGs and PGs even! Back from like 99-03. And they had English booklets.

Welp, managed to lose the cockpit hatch for my MG Red Frame Kai.
Guess this is what I get for leaving all the parts scattered in and around the box :(

I really wish Bandai would apply their model tech to mechas outside of Gundam. I LOVE Gundam, but man what I wouldn't give to see a MG or PG quality Xenogears.

There is no market for that. There are plenty of great patlabor, evangelion, hell even DBZ kits.

Apparently the English dub voice actor for Domon Kasshu from G Gundam/Mega Man X passed away according to the VA of Zero
He had retired from voice acting a while ago and became a dentist

Is that actually legit though? Gilbertson said in an interview on October the 22nd that he's never met Mark Gatha.
He started spreading a rumor that Gatha died around that time as well.
Afterwards, he mentioned that he did that because he thought it was funny how quickly people believed him.

Here's the interview in question:

TURN A GUNDAM 21 & 22
Cy3S_JFXEAQhKnl.jpg:small

Harry looks so different. More random one off episodes of each of the moonraces time doing normal earth things. Surprised Diana decided to go to a hospital on the battlefield of all places and see an amputation from the olden days. Sad.

Hello,

Getting nostalgic for Gundam, so I picked up some of the blu-rays and am currently looking to pick up a Mega size 1/48 RX-78-2 and Char's Zaku. Used to have the mega Gundam a few years ago, but got rid of it.

Curious if anybody knows a good place to pick them up. Ebay seems expensive overall and i'm somewhat afraid of getting a knockoff, shipping from HLJ seems pricy putting the pair at about 180 shipped. About the same price if I ordered through retailers on Amazon, but the same fear of knock offs. And I have no idea what it will cost from amiami, if they even get them in stock because they are back ordered now. I sent an email with an inquiry but it bounced back for some reason.

Also watching Reconguista, and through three episodes it seems fine. I assume it goes off the rails a bit later.

A little upset about the announcement of Turn A blu-rays as I recently purchased the DVDs, but I'll live. I will just put my rewatch on hold. It will be nice to watch with a non fan-sub version.

I just knew this would be Zeta Gundam. I always loved how Kamille would throw hands in a fucking heart beat even if he's prone to getting the taste slapped out of his mouth constantly.

I laugh approximately half the time someone hits Kamille. Always if it is Emma, almost always if he is about to/in the middle of speaking.

I love when Emma smacks the shit out of Kamille. You can tell she does it half out of love and the other half out of "what the fuck is this kids problem?" Emma always came off as Kamille's big sister to me, dude just couldn't handle her dying. After that he just stopped fucking around with everybody, shit was scary.

Wow, those wings of light actually look pretty cool. I was not a fan of the Bandai ones I've seen so far, lol.

Actually, the whole kit looks pretty sexy... good time to be a Strike Freedom fan.

I feel like such a strange fan at times for not liking Nu Gundam and Strike Gundam.
No is pretty much a classic. But Strike is veeeeery divisive. Lots of hate in the Fandom for SEED designs and lots of people who live it.

yeah man, those Metal Build Strike Freedoms flew off the shelves the first day it hit retail.

it was a surprise bc Freedom Metal Build was poor sales and lot of complaints of the bad paints/build.

i think a lot of people w regret over the freedom took a cautious approach w/ MB Strike Freedom. but it was a hit.

i can't wait for F91 i have like 5 on order (i need to cancel 2)

Really? I knew Strike Freedom wasn't everyone's cup of tea but I felt Strike itself was well loved. The sales of the kits and toys seem to indicate so as well.
