Going to be giving G reco a second try soon. Only made it 3 episodes in before the inconsistent moods of the characters made me tune out. Does not sound like I will like the story or characters too much but the mech design seemed good.

Also about to move to another country but might have to leave my gunpla here :( anyone got some tips for shipping/packing them in a suitcase without having them completely busted lol? Same for the boxes/top artwork. Obviously not the priority for moving to the other side of the earth but... kinda want to take a few of them with me haha.

I feel you're better off just looking at the mobile suits at the wiki or Dalong than watching that show.

As for moving Gunpla the best way to do that is to take them apart and putting them in small containers. The arts just remove the inner box and flatten the outer box.

Separate the joints and bag them or cushion them. Make sure to protect it with coat so that decals and paint aren't ruined.

Also G Reco is still worth a watch despite what people say. Ignore the haters it's worth it.

G Reco also has great action scenes. Watch the Blu Ray as they come out.

In some cases some series actually need more than 50 episodes.

AGE being one of them. I know I overreacted and hated AGE but after giving it another chance and a second watch alongside the OVA, I realised how much potential it had.

If AGE cut out the last arc and saved it for later while expanding on Flit and Asemu's stories for 25 episodes each, it would have been much better.

AGE suffered from being too condensed and rushed out and I blame it on LEVEL-5.

Had AGE been extended into 2 seasons of Flit and Asemu, then a season a couple years later with Kio, we would have been able to see all the cool AGE designs from the PSP game and expand more on the AGE universe.

AGE had so much potential and it was wrecked from being so rushed out.
AGE had really great GM-like mobile suits. The Genoace and Adele and the like are fantastic. Unfortunately, the Gundam and ALL of the Vegan suits were the worst. As for the story, AGE-2 was kinda cool, but I don't think any amount of extra episodes could have saved the asinine plot. EDIT: Woops, the pink one that had rose bits was neat.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
BTW did the og movie compilations have good english dubs?

The original movie trilogy was never dubbed (at least not yet, I think). I was so surprised when I bought the dvds and couldn't change the language. It was the first show I watched subbed.

There was a VHS release somewhere around ~97 of the 3 movies that was dubbed. It was a different cast than what they used for the US run of the show years later on Toonami (and DVD release).

I'm not sure I could gauge the quality of the dub as it was the first dub that I heard of 0079 in general, and everything else seems wrong.

Yes there has. Or you could import it also since the discs are exactly the same.

Damn that's expensive. Has The Origin been dubbed or did it come out after Bandai folded? Hopefully Rightstuf will rerelease these so the price is cheaper.

Speaking of the Gundam 0079 dub. Bright's voice actor is my favorite. He reads every one of his lines like he is giving an order. It works well when he is doing captain things, but it carries over to any personal scenes too.

The Origin's being dubbed in English as it comes out, just like all the Unicorn releases. It's a Bandai Visual title and not affected by the Bandai Entertainment mess. Importing the barebones release is quite a bit cheaper than the fancy collector's edition Rightstuf brought over. Though still expensive for one episode, that's just how OVAs are. It's possible Rightstuf might release a cheaper collection of the whole series down the line, that won't be for a long time.

Oh, didn't know that.

Oh, so the import also includes the english dub? I might consider picking it up, though I dislike the CGI mechs. Then again, I didn't mind when Unicorn used CGI.

It does! The import is the exact same disc. It uses a language select screen to determine what language to show the menu in and you can toggle dub in sub languages from the main menu. It's region-free too.

Yeah I try to find the highest quality version of Gundam shows when I am rewatching/catching up. Got a set of the series from a friend but hers was encoded for tablet quality screens -bleh- Either way I guess I was more turned off because I marathoned ZZ right before this started, definitely needed a break after that.

As for the Gunpla I guess if I have room I disassemble/bubble wrap+plastic bag them. Same with the premade figures. Ugh moving is stressful for people like me who keep everything, having to separate things from their boxes and even the plastic inserts in the box kills me inside haha.

So I'm starting Victory to finish off UC timeline from my backlog, and am enjoying it so far, but is there a particular reason opinions are so divided on this one? I've seen a lot of people either call it terrible, or one of their favorite series.

Weird mobile suit designs, wheel fetish, grim dark as fuck, and it gets really weird towards the end. Still one of my faves that I need to revisit.
Katejina
still one of the best gundam villains right there with Haman sama. I think the first 3 eps are also aired out of order because Bandai execs wanted the Victory to be shown in the first ep. One of my theories about Zanscare is that it's an empire built around inbreeding. Once you realize those motherfuckers are insane, like really insane their practices make more sense.

You can also go back in OT1 to where some of us watched or rewatched Victory. I think at about episode 25 everyone started spitting some serious acid. I quit at 31.

But minus the Shrike team a lot of people died that were actually in the show from the beginning. How much of the show did you finish? Even I find the Shrike team horrible since I don't think the other replacements even got names. Victory got truly insane when they introduced the
Bikini Bazooka
squad. Not to mention the end game for
Angels Halo which was built to turn the rest of man kind into a planet full of slobbering brain dead idiots.
I mean yeah some shit was fucking crazy, but I never hated it for it. Ok Ep 31 you stopped, yeah you didn't even see Grade A crazy Victory Gundam, that shit's like a vintage LSD drop.

Yes, G Self is personification of son goku.

Most broken Gundam ever with trans-am and all other tools at its disposal. Plus piloted by insane Bellri, one of the most entertaining protagonists in a while.
He as bombastic as Kamille? Kamille was mouthy as fuck in the beginning.

Someone sent me the youtube link for that. It did not improve my opinion of the show.
Don't worry I knew it wouldn't. Victory is definitely a "you either like it or you don't" show. I honestly need to find time to watch it again, but it definitely stuck with me for some odd reason. Though I really wish there was a "muted Karlmann" cut of the show. Minus some of the but ugly designs of the show It's not that bad of a show. They definitely paid more attention to the villain roles in the show. Actually cool names, seriously "Fuala Griffon" is one of the better gundam names that I can think of, woman knew how to dress too. I think what I liked is as batshit as the villains were they still showed you their perspective.

I ended up like Victory a lot. The mech design was weak. Who thought mobile suits riding in giant wheels was a good thing? I kind of like the beam rotors though. The thing that stood out to me was that the cast was pretty diverse and played important roles. Someone described the tone as grim dark, which I can see, but I also felt Victory showed the horrors of war a lot better than most of the other entries in the UC timeline.

Not all of the females died either. I was actually surprised at a certain someone still being alive by the end because from the beginning I had a death clock on her. Yeah I do think it did a good job at showing the horrors of war.
Seeing some dude eat a grenada cause he was shocked that he was fighting a 12 year old was a powerful scene.

Build contest or best gif.

Depending on the kit, donate the kit to first time builder to get them into the hobby.

Unless it's some titanium finish kit of some old rare 1/100 00 kit.

yami4ct was the first and only PM, i guess everyone hates shin!

I have another kit to get rid of, will think of some other fun way to do it.

I love the Destiny and I love RGs. The fact I've yet to own the Destiny RG is sort of silly. I'll be happy to add it to all the other CE builds I've been doing. I never knew I liked those suits that much and yet I've currently got the RG Astray, MG Infinite Justice, DM MG Akatsuki and now the RG Destiny.

How long until I stare into the dark abyss that is the MG Strike Freedom?

I'd probably get the normal MG SF and just paint it with gold leaf or something. The gold that comes on pretty much every Strike Freedom is garbage. I'd be tempted to just paint it normal grey/silver, but even though I hate the design, I still value show accuracy for some reason.

You're diehard.

If I do ever pickup a SF, that gold is the first thing to go.

I recently got hooked on metal builds and was thinking about picking up this Banshee Norn from Amazon. Would this be a good buy for someone that likes the metal build line?

It's part of the Metal Composite Fix Figuration line, different from Metal Build but high quality nonetheless.

I have the GFF metal composite RX-78 from The Origin, its amazing. Yes, do buy.

May want to wait for a price dip on it though. Sometimes these figures pricedrop seemingly at random on Amazon. the week before last, the Metal Composite Awakening Unicorn dipped to 135ish, and went back up 2 days later.

I wish Stardust Memory was better. Kickass opening and the mobile suit designs are some of my favorite in the entire series.

Edit: Speaking of my favorite MS designs. Is there kit for the Queen Mansa? I can't seem to find it.

Only characters that aren't blithering idiots are South Burning, Cima Garahal and Anavel Gato. Looks damn good though and has great suits, plus the best mobil armor in the Neu Ziel.

Gato is a gigantic idiot. He just happens to be less so than the Federation command.
Oh damn, it's been too long since I've watched it then I guess I just remember him being intelligent. I guess he was played like a fiddle in the end. Or is he also dragged down by the Nina gravity well?

There's an old 1/400 kit. You'd probably be better off modifying a Kshatriya, though.

GP-02 is one of the best suits designed. I wish there was a v2 of the MG.

No modern versions of Queen Mansa other than the 1/400 kit. Kinda surprised there's no Robot Damashi of it.
