The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

GP-02 is one of the best suits designed. I wish there was a v2 of the MG.

No modern versions of Queen Mansa other than the 1/400 kit. Kinda surprised there's no Robot Damashi of it.

GP02 was my first MG. Really hoping for a RG sometime after GP01 got both versions.

The 1/144 size would improve the heavy shoulder brackets quite a bit.

Watched the first four episodes of Turn A and I'm in love. The mech design is unique and they move with a weight that I haven't seen in Gundam in a long time. Seeing all the collatoral damage of one laser shot was fantastic and the barrel melting at the end. The setting is really cool. I like this weird post-post-apocalyptic thing they have going on. Characters are diverse. Loran is likable and competent and the supporting cast is good. This show is quickly shaping up to be one of my favorite Gundams. My only complaints is that some of the animation can be very jarring sometimes. Not a lot of transitions or only a few frames of animation. My main example is scenes where the WaD's are moving and their legs are moving back and forth way too quickly.

You're in for a great ride.

One of, if not the best series in all of Gundam.

What it lacks in action it makes up for it by handling its characters with actual respect. Kihel and Dianna had no right being that good. Even Harry is a good character despite his poor taste in fashion.

I've also been watching turn a recently. I'm up to episode 43 now. At first I thought it was pretty boring (i actually stopped at episode 8 before trying to watch it again now) but I've grown to really enjoy it. Action is still kind of lacking, but plot and characters are great

Don't know what you're talking about. He rocked the hell out of the sweater vest and these PJ's.

-Gundam Barbatos: About 300 years ago, the Calamity War drove by humanity itself caused the civilization decline. Barbatos is an ancient MS produced in that era. Even with that era's technology mounting 2 Ahab Reactors and making them operate in parallel high output was extremely difficult, so 72 machines using a Gundam Frame fuselage were rolled out. All of those 72 machines have an individual name registered to them, Barbatos' Gundam prefix is a rare name for a MS to bear. The burden on the pilot is high due to the high output and high maneuverability, however it's mitigated by the implementation of Inertial Control due to the use of Ahab Particles generated from the reactor when a phase transition occurs inside its vacuum device. The cockpit structure is positioned in front of the reactor to take advantage of this. Among the same frame machines, Barbatos has been adjusted for an emphasis on versatility, it has the potential to adapt to every circumstance by performing exchanges of all sorts of equipment.

-Mikazuki Augus: boarded the Barbatos when Gjallarhorn attacked the CGS HQ facility then became its pilot. He has received the Alaya-Vijnana(storehouse consciousness concept from Buddhism) System surgical treatment 3 times and still returned alive. This system grants excellent spatial awareness and since ancient MS require rapport from an Organic Device Sytem, compatibility with Barbatos is very good. Inspired by Gjallarhorn attack, he participates with the mobilized children including Orga Itsuka in starting up Tekkadan. He has never been to school and can't read properly.

-Mace: Physical destruction weapon made from a high hardness rare alloy used in MS frames. As MS use Nano Laminated Armor for protection, such striking weapons are considered to be effective. Its pointed end has an spear-like stick out injection mechanism.

-Long Sword: Sword used by MS training at Teiwaz's HQ ''Jupiter'' factory. It shows its superiority during localized attacks because it's easy to handle due to its lightweight.

-Gauntlet: already equipped when Barbatos was discovered on Mars. Thought to be an original Barbatos exchangeable armament, not sure.

-1st Form: from the Calamity War around 300 years ago. Discovered in Mars' desert by Malva Arkay(CGS president). Since its Ahab Reactors were still in operational state it was used as the CGS HQ facility's power source until Mikazuki boarded it.

-4th Form: Based on ancient materials from the time of the Calamity War that had been recorded on Teiwaz's database, Barbatos' original shape reproduced by ''Jupiter'' technicians. Machine's weight balance stabilized because of additional armaments. Reactor output was improved too.

#1. 0080
#2. 0083 (Probably the first)
#3. Zeta OP1.
#4. G-Reco.
#5. Wing's TWO-MIX songs.
#6. Obligatory. It's pretty groovy.

Still need to get around to watching Turn A. Wasn't really watching a whole lot in general when it came out, and the design of the Gundam turned me off.

I saw a picture of the HG Barbatos yesterday, and it doesn't look like it's covered in stickers so that's good. I'll buy it if I like the series I guess.

Ok, but serious answer to the openings question. I don't really know the specific songs, but I know I really liked the SEED openings (haven't seen Destiny yet). The 00 openings were also really good. The only specific opening off of the top of my head that I know I really liked was the first opening to Stardust Memory.

Is it sad I can name the songs off the top of my head?

Your SEED OPs are
INVOKE - T.M.Revolution
moment - Vivian or Kazuma
Believe - Nami Tamaki
Realize - Nami Tamaki

Your 00 OPs are
DAYBREAK'S BELL - L'Arc-en-Ciel
Ash Like Snow - the brilliant green
Hakanaku mo towa no Kanashi (sp?) - UVERworld
Namida no Mukou - stereopony

And that 0083 one is The Winner by... Don't recall.

EDIT: Here's my Gundam playlist from iTunes. What can I say, I love music. And yes I'm aware I'm missing a few ending themes from the earlier series.

Dreams and Resolution from Gundam X are my favorites, along with Silent Voice and the two Z gundam openings.

F91 didn't have openings and endings per say, but the vocal tracks are awesome there too.

In no particular order. And yes there's six, call the cops.

Toki wo Koete - Zeta Gundam

Arashi no naka de kagayaki - 08th MS Team

Rhythm Emotion - Gundam Wing
Haven't even watched wing, but this song and OP are the most anime shit ever and thus awesome

Century Color - Turn A Gundam

Believe - Gundam SEED
Freedom launching is fucking great. Most of SEED's music is awesome too but generally the OP and ED animations suck and wings of words in particular can go fuck a rake.

Daybreak's Bell - 00 Gundam

I don't care what anybody says, a Zeta Gundam OP is mandatory for every list.

I was just reading the plot and character info for the new Gundam series, and my eyes rolled so hard I can see my brain rotting. I hope it's good, but after Reconguita, my expectations are rock bottom.

1 - Hoshi No Mizu e Ai o komete: zeta gundam
2 - stand up to the victory: v gundam
3 - fly in the sky: g gundam
4 - the winner: 0083
5 - turn a turn: Turn a gundam

Honotable mention: fukkatsu no ideon

Gundam Reconguista in G 11

Since its finally back in english streaming somewhere I can finally finish it. I was so mad gundaminfo stopped it way back when I made it to 11 but hulu saved the day and such good quality.

Loved this episode cause Bell got to be good and Klim got to be pretty epic. The piano track used when Klim was in his first space battle was best song on the ost and extremely fitting. Actually hoping he can keep playing a huge role.

Mask and his people are still terribly hilarious.
he had Bell right there and still failed with even wire attached to him, how even

I like most Gundam openings but nothing is better than I'll Trust You Forever.
I'm sorry, but I'll Trust You Forever was a huge step down from Flying in the Sky.

To be fair, most things are a huge step down from Flying in the Sky.

FLYING IN THE SKY
Takaku habatake oozora wo dokomademo
SHINING FINGER
Kagayaku hikari ga chi no hate terashi
Kiseki wo yobu SPELL

BRIGHT YOU NOW
Kimi ga egaita mirai e no shinario wa
SHINING FINGER
Yume wo tsukamou subete wa omou mama ni
I GET A CHANCE!

Gundam Reconguista in G Episode 12 & 13

Joint offensive [Earthnoids] against the mystery army near Sankto Porto will definitely be one of the top moments in the anime. Seeing Mask upclose with Bell and others made me chuckle a bit. The piano track with Mask and Klim talking was best.
then them all in the elevator in Sankt Porto. They were just enemies even

Though G-self is still overall a bad design (no wings, no beam swords), its best protective Gundam. Is particle road thing was amazing for shielding all.

Is there a streaming service that has the Gundam series' available? I looked at Crunchyroll and it seems like they have a page but it doesn't show any episodes?

SEED opening and endings were top tier.

So I hear the GundamInfo YouTube channel accidentally released Iron-Blood Orphans in Australia.

I haven't managed to find one where I can watch every single show. Daisuki was where I went to in the past for when they had some series but now all they have is The Origin (paid) and Iron Blooded Orphans up for streaming.

I think it's Bandai and their reluctance(?) to put their content on these services.

Daisuki and Hulu right now, Crunchyroll and funimation next week

For the new one anyways. The older ones aren't really streamed legally anywhere at this time

Yeah I was more looking for Gundam Wing and stuff :( I am watching the Iron Blooded Orphans show on Hulu though and it seems cool

If you need a Wing fix, read Glory of the Losers manga. It's the only version of the Wing story that is worth the time.

Seconded, but be aware it's only been translated up to Vol. 7 and is still ongoing.

The most recent raw chapter was
Zero vs Epyon in Sanq Kingdom.

It looks like the translators are (at least for a while) going to actually translate the series' new chapters on a monthly basis while going back to fill the gaps. Hopefully it means we'll catch up quickly.

He seems to want to translate all the Ace stuff on a monthly basis and claims the next volume of EW is coming soon. The most recent chapter of EW is on his site now. I sure hope we see the next volume of Beltorchika's come soon as well.

Just like Beltorchika's Children right...?
