The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

Now that is a damn sexy boxart.

Finally got around to The Origin 2. Definitely a marked improvement over 1.

The CGI Deikun statue was terrible though.

Still, I thought it cool how they used music from the original series this episode. Maybe as the time line catches up with 0079, you'll see more of that?

Yeah I know, the whole thing is just drowning in it's own excess. I don't mind simplistic Wing Zero, but Endless Waltz version isn't really my favorite.

Even as a massive, massive fan of The Origin, I'm not digging this adaptation still. Taking the flashback arc out of context really hurts the impact it has. It doesn't help that the Artesia/Casval story is easily the worst part of the flashback arc. It's a bunch of brooding Casval with bits of unimportant coincidence thrown in for good measure. I also really didn't like how little they got through this episode. At least we got more Ral being badass and stuff on the development of the Mobile Worker. I really liked both those in the manga.

Oh well, Vol III should be where they actually get to the better parts of the Flashback arc.

What the fuck is this bullshit?

That, my friend, is beautiful.
Even as a fan of WZC, that's a bit much. I like the stylized detailing of the feathering, but I really don't like the extra set of wings.

We need more Crowley Hamon.

That WZC makes me want to throw up. The clash between the super gloss and the matte makes my stomach churn.

Why make something that is supposed to be elegant, so edgy? Not that WZC was all that elegant to begin with.

So whats the easiest way to legally get ahold of Gundam 00 and Unicorn?
The Blu Ray version of Unicorn can be imported (episode 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7) since they're exactly the same discs everywhere and are region-free.

00 is more difficult since it never got a Blu Ray release in the US, the Japanese release has no English options, and its DVDs are out-of-print and have gotten increasingly difficult to find. Might be better to wait until Sunrise finally gets around to re-releasing it.

Oh wow, that's way more expensive than what I had originally thought. I guess i'll wait on Sunrise to get around to releasing it.

My MG Akatsuki has officially arrived in the US! Boy that was a journey. There's a reason I now spring the extra $10 or so for higher shipping. Surface is just not worth the hassle to me.

The hassle and frustration has just begun...

Akatsuki is very fun and very painful.

Is there anywhere that sells The Origin digitally? I'd rather not buy the physical books since I'm trying to reduce clutter in my apartment, he says while buying more Gunpla.

The entirety of Gundam The Origin and several other manga are available on iBooks/iTunes Japan and Kindle amazon.jp.

I don't know if it is for english but everything you want is available in Japanese.

I didn't even know Gundam The Origin was available in english, after a quick google search you could just go to local Barnes and Noble and read there? I'm surprised that store lets you sit and read through books without purchase like a library...

Yeah, I've done that quite a bit before. Caught up on a lot of comics by chilling in a Barnes and Noble. I think that is why they all have Starbucks in them now. I know I've bought drinks a lot while reading books.

Hahaha holy shit this thing is big. And I really expected worse quality. It even comes with a stand.

Fuck I'm still laughing that this is a thing. This is gonna be worth 3-4 times the original price in a couple months.

It's been confirmed that you can replace the head with Nendoroids and figmas, so this is the new SD Neo Zeong.

SD Neo Zeong for those who don't know.

GundamInfo uploaded a making of IBO vid (~15 minutes) called Road to Orphans. Interviews some mech designers, the character designer, Orga's VA. Fairly interesting. Only anime spoiler would be pics of Gundam Kimaris which hasn't shown up yet (but we've already seen pics of it and the kit).

Their second go around was actually really good. I really like their new Eva kit. I like the Bandai more than Kotobukiya.

The most recent (movie) HG Bandai kits are really good. I haven't tried the Kotobukukiya ones for 3.0 but at a glance it seems like they don't use the rubber for the arms.

The PG Eva01 was a nightmare because you built the internal frame for the torso/hips and then had to shove it into this rubber scuba suit through a relatively small hole in the back. Getting it to fit without ripping the suit apart was stressful.

Yeah HLJ has the HGs for about 850 yen, that's around $7 USD which was great for me. I have the Barbatos & Mika cards, which look cool but sadly nowhere to use them. I'd mail you them if it's cheap (assume so since they're just cards).
If you're already in Japan, it would be worth it. If it's like <$4, I could Paypal you the funds. Otherwise, I might as well get the kit. Actually, is it only the Barbatos that came with the cards, or did the Graze have them too? I'd much rather buy that one if it had the cards.

With the next set of cards and missions coming out for Try-Age next month, it's looking like there will be at least another Tekkadan pilot (Eugene?) and MS added to it. That's going to make the Mika pilot card more useful since his skill is to boost the stats of fellow Tekkadan members. Currently, it's only him and Akihiro available in the game, so it's kind of limited.

Best thing about Iron Blooded Orphans is the ending theme. Well animated and great song.
For real, the ending is most excellent. I'm not so angry when I see the Gundam now, so this show seems to be doing so many things right.

I did't see anyone post this yet but there are a ton of Metal Builds being confirmed.

Metal Build Strike Freedom Wings, Metal Build Destiny Wings. These might get reprints MIGHT.

Metal Build Exias, Astraeas, etc. All 2016.

Why are so many metal builds Exia variants?

I want that Astraea Type F, and the Avalanche'.

Destiny is the only Metal Build remotely worth the price in my mind.

Blue Frame and Red Frame could have been if they didnt section off the Tactical Arms and Powered Arms parts.

The biggest thing is that the MG Hyakushiki 2.0 is on sale from ¥6800 all the way down to as low as ¥4000 or even ¥3800.

It's an amazing MG Kit, even as a gold plated one. I really recommend it and you should buy it low since the price it is at right now is a steal.
