watching 3 shows at once huh? hardcore man =)

Yup! I am becoming Gundam!

Mobile Suit Gundam #9/10 Thoughts

Pretty good stuff here too. Amuro's temper tantrums are kind of overdone, but believable at their core. I just wish there was a bit less of them. Which, if I remember the next sections from the movies right, means I'll be voicing dissent over an increase in Amuro melodrama in chapters to come. Oh well. Otherwise there isn't much to complain about. Char plays Garma like a fiddle in the ruins of New Yark. This mission was a bitch in Journey to Jaburo.

You know, for all the comments about how ancient the animation is for this show, some of the tone-setting is terrific. White Base's bridge looks darker in that night raid than so many attempts at darkness in contemporary anime. Later, it glows a convincing blue. Elsewhere, Garma's surrounded by a pulse of red. It's timeless mise-en-scene.

Some of the music here was sillier than usual. When Char and his Zakus were getting into position my roommate asked if there was an alien abduction going on back here.

Icelina is introduced rather quickly and is basically a lovesick puppy, which you'd think would annoy me more (well, if you knew me, anyway) but it's all so utterly vintage-classical feeling that I don't really mind.

Looks like I'm getting my first long look at the Zabi dynasty next episode.

Gundam's disco music is borderline hilarious at times, but at the very least we got Char's pimp theme out of it.

Mobile Suit Gundam - Here Comes Char

Does this come with a Emma figure? Does Emma even have a decent sized figure like that Rinko one I've seen?

I watched one more. Lol me. I'm over a quarter of the way in after two days. I guess this is the one boon to getting bitten by a black widow spider over the weekend.

Mobile Suit Gundam #11 Thoughts

Ah my goddess. Icelina got owned. Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap. What a botched effort the whole way through, followed by Amuro and the gang digging her a grave without even knowing who she was. Terrific plot in this episode; really timeless approach. Talk about preaching futility. Although I do wish the animation for Icelina's fall was, um, sixty times better. As it stands, it looks like she was struck down by God, hopped into the air, kicked her feet at a flash of light, and then bumped her head on the ground.

Oh yeah, also, there were Zabis. I met Gihren and Kycillia! Yay! But seriously though.

"Who will survive?"

not Icelina xfd

Tactical Espionage Action

I didn't really mind Amuro that much when I rewatched 0079 last year. He's a bit whiny, but it's understandable considering the circumstances. He's a fifteen year old kid experiencing near-constant combat and Bright's strategies were pretty much "Throw the Gundam at it" most of the time.

I had also re-watched Evangelion a little before, so that might have colored my opinion of Amuro a tad.

Amuro is an amazing character in his own right and he is a shining example of character development done right. Too many characters go from flawed to perfect.

He is a character that goes from flawed to better in a lot of ways and worse in others. He starts off as antisocial, arrogant, slightly misogynistic. He has odd physical mannerism quirks. In the end, he is a team player, but he is still antisocial and cold/isolated. However, he has learned to trust his comrades and is more empathetic.

It's a shame he doesn't gets buried under Char. He is really a great character in his own right.

Are you RevolverSaro from Board 8 by chance?

Anyway... he's decent. Maybe something is lost in translation. Maybe Swaile just doesn't entirely work for me. Something about him grates on me. I get what they're going for and I respect the themes, but he does come across as whinier than intended, I think. Still, the writing is self-aware enough for me to enjoy it anyway; Fraw Bow really makes him realize how dim he can be even when Bright isn't around.

But now you live on, through NeoGAF's arm. Or something.

Just wanted to confirm a suspicion of mine. I'm gone from there as well. :p

Newest Glory of The Losers is out and it confirmed Frozen Teardrop is apart of the manga.

Zech's is shown having a flash back of Satan or Warlock in its mobile beast mode.

Please, elaborate.
Simple. Nobody in the US military refers to each other by rank them first name. It's not protocol and attempting to do it with commanding officers or NCOs is a sign of disrespect. Hell, during my stint my ex and I generally referred to each other by last name.

Early Amuro is supposed to be an annoying little shit, that's why he gets smacked the fuck up physically and verbally occasionally. Did Fraw Bow pour that hot ether on Amuro's soul yet? That's such a good scene.

Please, elaborate.

People refer to each other by rank or last name. Very rarely by first names.

And some things that bug me
-Very little delineation between ranks
-No formalities or standard verbalogies when passing words
-No apparent force protection measures
-the ranks are insane and make no sense

I still love the series, and understand why things are the way they are. I have alwasy wanted a Gundam series that gets into the day to day nitty gritty of wheat it would be like to be Fed and Zeon soldiers and sailors.

0083 and 08th MS Team are the best at this. 0083 is actually a series I appreciate way more than I did when I first saw it as a kid. It's so good, you see proper name tags, warfare devices on uniforms, people on post, it's really good about some semblance of military life

Yeah, Fraw eviscerated him. She was seconds away from marching down there and piloting Gundam in his stead.

Is Warlock an Altron clone?
No Warlock is the updated Deathscythe variant that had the ability to Transform.

Frozen Teardrop does not feature a new suit in the Shelong line of Gundams.

WuFei pilots an upgraded white and purple Epyon named Epyon White. It has a Beam Trident instead of a sword, a third Dragon head making it more Hydra and lastly it has beam canons that rival the Wing Zero.

Epyon White is the single best thing to come out of Frozen Teardrop.

It's even built up a fan following and people have reproduced it as, well as close to it as they could given we never got full line art.

We got this from W Conciege one month and we see it a few times in the Novel. I personally love the color scheme and fully expect a MG P Bandai down the road if they can figure out the third dragon head.

That suit is fucking badass looking. Leave it to Wufei to pilot an upgraded version of the suit Treize designed and make it cooler. It's odd how he gets the best suits without the suits being broken power wise. He can probably kick some serious ass in that thing.

Oh White is Busted.

It has Zero 2.0 and that dragon arm? It was houses the massive beam canon.

Plus his big scene is beating Epyon OG by turning his own Zero system off.

At least he beat OG Epyon using his own skill unlike Heero who had the guidance of Zero system 1.0 to aid him. That does sound pretty broken then. it's OP with a massive beam cannon and OP up close cause it's ungraded Eypon with weapons from Altron as well. You combined two OP melee Gundam's essentially.

It's not so much as he beat it, he confused the Hologram Zechs because he no longer was predictable based on numbers.

However yes he has the more realistic suit out of all the main 5, at least he isn't Nanomachined out and carrying a nuclear bomb around.

His isn't the only Treize suit either. Tallgeese Heaven piloted by Zech's is Tallgeese II upgraded and is even a left handed suit....they made a big deal out of this.

Oh god...hologram Zechs. They really couldn't yank the pen out of the writers hand and tell him this shit makes no god damn sense could they? Who has the nuke? Trowa?

Yeah it a hologram version of Milliardo from the Eve Wars.

Trowa-Phobos is his name. Later calls himself something else like Duo Jr takes on the name Fenrir but I can't remember it off the top of my head.

Don't forget nanomachines, son.
Lol being called Son as a woman is odd*

Yes though Tallgeese Heaven has Nanomachines, Wings like Snow White and carries around a beam emitter that can fire Nanomachine disablers.

Lastly it has a giant golden ring on its back, similar to God Gundam or Bahamut from Final Fantay X that spins and charges up its Nanmomachine attack.

* I figure you don't mean me with Son but as a saying.

Oh I don't. I had a laugh at it because of the weird timing and I take pleasure in the moments.

Side Tallgeese charging a megaflaire is way more offensive the me being called Son and I'm the one that posted that garbage.

Epyon White might be one of the few MS designs from Frozen Teardrop that I actually like. It feels like an actual upgrade from the Epyon that both reflects WuFei's past suits and respects what makes the Epyon cool in the first place.

Most of the suits in that series completely lose track of what makes their original designs work. They look like poor fan made kit bash trash. Tallgeese Heaven and Black Wing in particular are such garbage. I guess Heaven is derived off of Flugel, which is one of the few GotL designs I dislike, so it's not all FT's fault. Still an awful design.

I agree on White.

Heaven is just a weird decision overall.

Its Tallgeese II and left handed in memory of Treize...who Milliardo betrayed and tried to kill.

It like why even have this suit in this context? Maybe in Vignt piloted as he is Treize's brother, but Milliardo and later his daughter? Just why?

Isn't Prometheus Gundam essentially the "wolfwood" Gundam? I'll admit the designs make no damn sense, they just seem too busy with capes thrown on just because.

Was at work, and didn't post the image due to laziness, I was referencing a game. Haha.

EDIT: Oh Jaded had me covered. But yeah, no offense meant.

EDIT2:
Anyone know the first song that plays in the credits of the second Gundam the Origin OVA
Artesia's Sorrow?

It has been bugging me

The vocal song? "Kaze yo 0074" by Takumi Ishida, I believe.
