thank you.

Hi Gaffers,

I just released my first ever game on iOS/Android and would love to see what you gamers think about it. The feedback would be very much appreciated and would help me and other students in the future.

The game is called Lapsus. It's a domino puzzle game inspired by the domino effect.

Android (Jelly Bean doesn't work yet) https://play.google.com/store/apps/...xLDEsImNvbS5jYW5hbHNpZGVzdHVkaW9zLmxhcHN1cyJd

Hope you like, and I look forward to any feedback you can give. I'm a noob at developing. :D

Major Mayhem update is pretty cool, even with IAP. I'll play through it again, plus new modes.

Tiny Wings HD looks so damn good. The race mode is super fun. Love how each bird has a different physics profile.

Wait what? I hadn't noticed this.

Did I miss something.

Been looking for something to play on my Android (3.2) tablet, will check it out.

I don't get it. Would you prefer to pay upfront just to realize later it's merely an "okay" game to you? How you do not like the option to try the game before buying the whole package is beyond me.

Nope. I enjoy having an opportunity to try the game before I buy, but what they gave me to try didn't sell me, as I already said. I just didn't find it to be particularly great. That's not to say it isn't. I wasn't granted access to the full game. They don't even allow you to sample the online play without first purchasing a deck. What I played was clever but not great. It was decent. Not much more I can add to that, really. I don't think it comes close, though, to being one of the best TBS games on iOS. I don't need it to be, of course, but I just didn't feel compelled to buy it. Not sure why that is so "shitty," as the one kid suggested.

Funny seeing Zeth's avatar right now, I decided to try Dungeon Raid Lite today and next thing I know I'm down $2.99 and it's starting to get dark outside. Bejeweled-style puzzle score attack gameplay with RPG themed progression...it's like the perfect mix. I know Puzzle Quest does something similar, but I much prefer Dungeon Raid's more straight to the point take on the concept. I can see myself spending a lot of time with this one.

Haha, that was my first experience with Dungeon Raid also. Such an addicting game. I've put so much time into that and have barely unlocked any of the achievements.

What's the best weapon to buy in Major Mayhem? I have tons of coins, but I don't want to waste them, especially since I just accidentally used 500 to continue. Thought I might as well spend them.

Yeah, it's probably the definitive iOS game for me. Never leaving my phone. Sits right next to PvZ where it belongs, in the pantheon of mobile greatness.

I still haven't found anything that comes close. There's a huge opportunity there for someone to develop a game like Dungeon Raid IMO. A sequel or expansion would be incredible.

It's the perfect game for waiting in line with nothing to do (at the bank, in my case.) It should come with every iPhone.

Yes, Dungeon Raid is amazing. I can't count the Ipod charges I used all the way while playing this.

Well, you didn't like the game. That's ok, I just thought it was weird to see you complaining about the model they offered, since from my understanding of your post that was one of the things you didn't like.

Have anyone tried Wargames? It's suppose to be a Dungeon Raid clone.

Wargames:WOPR
It's based on Wargames. I don't care what it's a clone of.

(not a slight on you, just that I'd buy anything that's WarGames-related (except for that RTS that came out that was completely unrelated, except in name basically))

Also, it mentions that it's the officially licensed WarGames mobile game. Seems like an odd thing to say, considering it's a 30-year-old movie.

PS. This had better have some god-damn text-to-speech synthesis in it. But at ~20mb, I'm not holding my breath :(

Cave Rescue looks terrible. But also awesome. But definitely terrible, too.

I feel like you were going for that.

Was out drinking with one of the two man team that made MM last night. Going free has been a huge boost for them revenue wise and will be helping push forward development of their next game which is already looking pretty cool.

If anybody hasn't picked the game up yet, give it a shot. You'll be helping the little guy "win".

I typically avoid the "with friends/buddies" games, but I think I may be addicted to jewels with buddies. It doesnt have leader boards, keeps very minimal stats, has in app coin purchases which ruin competitive balance- and I can't stop playing.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that Tap The Frog got a new level update and now it comes with coins! This incentive is to push IAP so pretty much it's only for customising your frog and whatnot.

Also, are there any apps that have this kind of gameplay? Quick reaction based minigames (not the 0.03s one, that one isn't that great)

Yeah, that is true, actually. The main thing that irked me in that respect was that they don't allow you to try out the multiplayer. But it was other little things as well. In the single player, the default decks are the red one (forget what it's called) and the green orc one. I'm sitting there for a few minutes trying to figure out why I can't start a game. Finally, I realize I have to set both decks to the red ones because I haven't yet purchased the green ones. Little things like that annoy me about a game. It feels like a shakedown. Either make a lite version that grants you access to everything you want me to see, or offer a clearer presentation -- something to sell me on the game. Granted, this sort of shit likely wouldn't bother me if I hadn't been gaming for over 30 years and wasn't such a jaded fuck, but such is the nature of things. :)

Anybody know of any good baseball games for the iPad?

there's the baseball superstars games, which can be ok, 2011 is probably the best. not sure if it's on ipad though or just iphone

I've played a few and for the most part they aren't very good, personally I hope someday kairosoft makes a baseball version of pocket league story

Actually, you can play against the Tundra Orcs in the free version. I was confused at first too, but you have to set the deck to AI.

I think that if they offered online from the start they simply wouldn't make a lot of money, since that's the main appeal. Gotta put the food on the table. But to be fair, you really don't need the multiplayer to see if the game is your cup or tea or not. I don't think your opinion on the game would be any different if you played online, so the decision to offer this feature for free could only hurt them.

Factions are radically different in the game (much more than Hero Academy, for instance), so perhaps downloading again and trying to play against the Tundra Orcs could change your mind about the game? Maybe not, but it's worth a shot. The differences are very fun to learn nd they give you a lot of different possibilities.

Does anyone know when Kingdom Rush 2 is due out? Got the iPad and iPhone versions, looking forward to the second one... need it now :(

From Ironhide Games over on TA:

"...right now we are working on the second chapter of Kingdom Rush(different enemies, bosses, heroes, terrains and towers), it will be a whole different adventure that will not compete with the original adventure, we plan to keep both games updated, this adventure will be released later this year...probably december."

He also said they were planning to hit both platforms at once this time around, so iPhone/iPod users shouldn't have to wait once it's released.

Hey guys, I'm about to go on a trip and I'm wondering if Amazing Alex is any good?

I liked The Incredible Machine back in the day so I'm considering picking this up.

For all the UI that Playdek does right, they do some things really wrong. If you look at the factions selections screen, there's actually a Player/AI toggle on the right side. Try poking around for the toggle button. ;-) It's defaulted to player (for a 2 player pass and play on the same device), and since for the lite version you only have Phoenix Elves, that's the only one you can select for 2 player on same device battle. If you select the AI, there's currently 4 AI for 4 factions that you can play against. I'm assuming Playdek is still working on the AI for the 4 other factions.

I was so confused about this at first. Made some moves, end turn..then it went to second player (I didn't notice)..and I was like, "what? That wasn't the moves I made!". Lol..

As an aside, to pick random, you have to double tap random... Not single tap random and hit load. I know..intuitive... =P lol...

Started playing Shantae on the iPhone recently. I'm having a total blast with it. Graphics, music, gameplay, everything is just great.

Does anyone know if the old Game Boy game is any good? And can anybody suggest similar platformers like this for the iPhone?

Has anyone tried out the new Tap Tap Revenge Tour app? I loaded it, but it won't let me create a new profile. It seems like I'm stuck with whatever default profile came with the app (Tapper128934982739487128765). Has anyone been able to log in with an existing Tapulous profile?
