I finished the game today and also got the platinum, took me roughly 21h to do.

What an amazing Soulsvania, incredibly well designed, balanced and fascinating to play. I really dont understand some of the bad reviews and feedbacks the game had, it is bloody brilliant in every way.

Look forward to these guys next game.

There's NG+ and a couple of modes are coming via future updates:

Plus, given how many amazing weapons the game has each with it's own weapon arts and playstyles, there's plenty of replay value already, well, unless you don't like to replay games.

I replay my favorite Metroidvania every 2/3 years, sometimes more. This one will definitely have multiple runs.

Great stuff. I'm sure the game is a total banger now if played fresh. Still no fix on fog if war but I wish they will for future players

I started this game recently and I like it so far. I wouldn't say I love it. In my Metroidvanias I prefer the balance to skew more on the Metroid side than the vania. This game doesn't have a ton of the platforming or ways to maneuver through the environment. Not sure I even consider it a Metroidvania honestly, it's more of a Soulsvania. But I still am enjoying it so far.

Yeah but at least they patched everything so new players get to experience it in close to perfect form, can't wait for what the team is up to next

PSA : This Is 14 Eurodollars ATM on the PS Store and thinking of getting it since they also fixed /patched stuff, problem is, I'm already playing Prince of Persia lost crown and I don't know if I can juggle 2 Metroidvanias at once...

First things first:

I remember seeing a trailer for this way back when and thinking it would be a day 1 purchase. Thing is there are so many games releasing that it's hard to keep track, lots of stuff falls through the cracks. Imagine my surprise when I learned the game came out in 2023!

This is a top-tier Metroidvania where the combat is the star. I chose sorcerer as my starting class having no idea what I weapon I would begin with. Turns out it's one of the best feeling whips in the history of videogames, each lash and snap a thing of beauty that would make the Belmonts proud!

SoTN, Blasphemous and Bloodborne are all clear inspirations whether in the art, the mechanics or the combat, the presence of these champions is there. It does enough to stand on it's own though I wish it went just a bit further to "be it's own thing". Still, if you're going to borrow then might as well borrow from some of the best.

The OST is fairly one note and I'm annoyed the map has areas that CAN'T be filled out, 100% map completion is a genre staple (you can still 100% the game) after all. Overall though I was completely hooked for the past 3 days, will definitely be there day 1 for a sequel if it ever happens, hopefully the devs can refine and build upon what they learned here and make a game that is better in every way just as Blasphemous 2 improved upon it's predecessor, let's see what happens.
