They better make it as brutal as this! I was legit shocked at this scene when it first aired. It was pretty brutal. They need to make it have the same impact as this otherwise it's a cop out.

Never had a last of us episode I didn't like, I hope they show some virus stuff, to more survival and understanding the clickers movements.
 
Hopefully the themes go deeper than the game.

I liked the game, don't get me wrong, but it really didn't say anything more than how the cycle of violence is bad.
 
Season 2 is going to have the problem that I feared since the series was first announced and that's that Bella is barely going to look older, where in the game Ellie looks significantly older. And I have no idea how tiny little Bella Ramsey is going to be able to fight grown men enemies throughout the show, plus infected, and have it look believable onscreen.

Anyway, wonder if they will do the big scene as early as they did in the game or if they will wait til later since they split the game into two seasons if I remember correctly.
 
I wonder how hard they'll push Levs story of being trans? I'm guessing it will be front and center for at least a few episodes. This way they can pat themselves on the back some more with one hand while jerking themselves off with the other like they did with the queer episode.

She looks way too young for teenage ellie. I know the actress is older but they had completely changed her character model from the first game for a reason. She looks like a child still.

Should've recast her for sure. Ellie is a killing machine in the second game and her massacres of the Wolfs are going to look extremely stupid. But maybe they will remove most of the action scenes like they did in the first season.

Do people not understand the concept of storybeats and adaptations?? of course the series isn't going to follow the fecking game scene for scene, it's going to adapt the overall theme into a series, the TV Show is its own thing and doing its own thing, i don't need to see Joel killed in the first scene or Ellie aged and broken going on a murder revenge spree, i already played that, i want to see these characters reimagined in the same world but with a twist on what we all know and love, doesn't have to be beat for beat.

I really enjoyed both the actors in their respective parts so if they can put of the Joel killing for as long as they can or remove it altogether, i'm fine with that as well, just keep making the damn show as good as you did the first season.

edit.. Gaddamn someone just posted the Golf Swing is in the 1st episode!!? lol ffs

Is it stated that it will be in episode one, or is that just because they filmed that scene first? I've heard of movies filming the last scene first. But who knows here.

Nothing is confirmed yet as far as I know, just the first news of filming include that set.

Usually movies are filmed in an order that makes sense logistically and production-wise, sometimes with child actors the chronology is maintained so they can follow the story more easily.

With TV series of this caliber, the episodes are usually filmed in order/one at the time because every episode usually has a different director, so while one episode is filming other directors can focus on pre-production or post-production.

My main problem with this is that she looks too young

We wont see how she've grown over the years since Part I. Will feel like it's been weeks, not years. This is why I wanted them to cast someone else for older Ellie, and she could act on the flashbacks.

The scene wasn't even that brutal in the game. Nothing like that. You hear Joel getting beaten up, have one shot at him all covered in blood and the final blow was not even that focused on him.

Makes no sense to change that for the show

It definitely wont be that violent, it wasn't as violent as that scene in the game either. That Glenn scene is arguably the most violent scene in television history lol

There will be no outrage, and if so it will be very minimal in comparison to the outrage the game got.. This season 2 is going to prove that gamers are the fucking problem. The TV audience will accept his death and move on, like I and many other normal, non TLOU 2 obsessed haters did. I guarantee it.

There will be no "cuckmann" or "agenda" cries either. Again, gamers are the problem.

It's not like a small young woman like Ellie massacring entire units of trained soldiers and going 1 on 1 with large men was super believable in the game anyway.

But they'll probably do like they did in season one and just have a lot less action. Ellie doesn't really need to annihilate a hundred people like in the game.

My bet would be that they do it early just as a fuck you to all of the haters. I want it to be in a cold open of episode one just for the rage it'll produce.

Movies yes, but im talking about television shows. there arent many more scenes more brutal than this one airing on TV shows (cable), especially not back then when this aired originally

My expectation for this is that it will be just as "blah" as the first season. It was nice when they stayed faithful, but it was mostly its own thing insofar as I am concerned. Vastly better than that garbage The Wheel of Time though.

4.5/10 (maybe 4, and 5 is average)
 
I think she looks great. My only hope for this next season is that they have more of the infected. I didn't really feel them as a constant threat like the games do quite well.
