The Last of Us Part II announced

Not sure how I feel about this.


On one side : Awesome, TLOU was the best game ND has made and this one is probably going to be amazing.

On the other side: The story ended so perfectly that I kinda would have liked new Characters for a sequel.


More importantly: While the announcement is exciting. I'm a bit sad that this will be the first gen with no new IP by ND

And actually... assuming a girl is transgender just because she's not very feminine... is kind of "offending"
 
Ellie seems really angry, they said you play most of the game as her. I like the idea of playing as Joel early in the game and he dies/gets captured, then Ellie goes to get revenge, I always preferred playing as Joel in the first game. Hopefully they make playing her fun.
 
Transgender, ghosts, PTSD.

Sometimes hands shake from adrenaline, killing a few people would do that.


Hes not a ghost.


She's essential a town boy, with no more Sephora branches.

this cutscene needs to be live action and it needs to use practical effects

also acceptable: a transitioning montage set to a hair rock soundtrack

After having to see posts like this for three years, today they're giving me some sort of twisted satisfaction.
 
If you look at Ellie's collar you see a rash that looks a bit like her bite mark from the first game.

I think the theory that her infection continued to spread though the years slowly is probably going to happen.


If anything it would give a gameplay reason for listen mode. Clickers hear really well. Ellie could have some of that.
 
I feel like I'm the only person on earth who

A) Thought TLoU was one of the most overrated games of the past decade

And

B) Is super bummed that this project isn't a new IP for ND

Sigh. Feels bad.

Didn't anything get revealed during the panel other than the theme being "hate", Ellie being 19 years old and the main playable character, and the composer being back?

The Division really did a number on you didn't it? :D
 
Wasn't a big fan of the first game, way too drawn out, didn't like Ellie, didn't like all the padding, repetitive junk with ladders, crates, etc. There was greatness there, but like with Uncharted 4 it feels like they just don't know when to reel it in and establish some actual focus.

So hopefully they pace the next one better and Ellie seems like she'll be pretty cool this time. I'm excited with a dash of caution. I enjoyed the tone of this trailer and I like how Ellie looks.
 
I really dont understand the mentality some people have. I get that the first game had a great ending but it very deliberately left the door wide open for a sequel. Did anybody really expect Naughty Dog to create a brand new IP and only make one game out of it?
Also the whole "it ended perfectly leave good enough alone thing" can easily be applied to the first Uncharted as well but that did not stop us from getting far better sequels in the end.
