The Last of Us Part II announced

Ashley Johnson is a cinnamon roll.
Super glad she's back, she deserves to do as many high profile titles as possible (acting as well!).
Also it's with Baker again, and they have a great chemistry.

I'm kinda torn on this being a thing featuring returning characters. I really wanted the story of Ellie and Joel to end after TLoU. That said, if it delivers with a great story, I'll definitely give it a shot.

I realize Ellie is a little older, and tough as nails by this point, but I hope the story doesn't make her a Lara Croft type mass murdering psychopath. If they tell the story from the viewpoint of a 19 year old girl that has been through a lot, but still has a lot to learn, this could be great. Basically I don't want to play as a female Joel. They already handled this pretty well with the boss sequence in TLoU.

I didn't play Left Behind, so if that's how it was handled there, then I might have to give it a shot too.

Dude, you must play Left Behind, it's a great piece of DLC.

Hopefully the game is a little more open with some side quests and collectibles, I hope the gore is the same tho, they dont need to touch the gunplay if they dont want to is very godo as it is, but they need to add Horde Mode from th eget go for fuck sakes, I mean, I love the gunplay and gore and brutality but if there aint lots of chances to shot enemies whats the point? if they worry about it to interfere with the story well Horde mode aliviates that.

Just give me horde/survival mode and Im buying the season pass too I promise.

add more gore please

They announced Part II and I still had to finish the first one! Two nights playing through it and I can finally watch the trailer. TLOU is probably the best game's story I've experienced, in the end I was really attached to the characters. It just felt real. And I HATE zombie games, TLOU Part 2 will be totally awesome, probably the game that will make me buy a PS4 Pro Slim (?).

I still have to play the DLC but I will probably wait a few months to be totally amazed with this game again.

Now, about the trailer itself: 10/10. Which other game could have an announcement player showing only one character playing guitar and singing and having a brief conversation with someone else? TloU is just on another level for me in storytelling.

Going over playthrough reactions to TLoU, it seems like the Henry/Sam scene hits everyone harder than anything else in the game. It really is a standout scene. The combination of how fast everything happens and then the quick cut to black and the Fall reveal just kinda leaves you like "What the fuck just happened?".

I don't know how I feel about this, the first game really stressed me out. With Joel and Ellie returning I don't think my heart can take it.

Okey, do we know what he's working on? He's still at ND right? Uncharted The Lost Legacy?

He's on extended break. Rumor is that he's taking time off for one whole year, but he's still employed by ND. So he's not involved with anything right now.

Right now it's :

TLoU Part 2 - Directed by Neil Druckmann
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy - Directed by Kurt Margenau & Shaun Escayg
Uncharted MP - Handled by ND's Multiplayer Team

Chances are when Bruce comes back next year, he'll lead the team currently working on The Lost Legacy to make a new IP.

So I was doing some digging, and funny enough, Gustavo Santaolalla kinda leaked that TLoU II was in development back in late 2014, or at least in early planning.

http://www.musictimes.com/articles/...ser-gustavo-santaolalla-talks-scoring-new.htm

Do you have any projects you're working on now or will be working on in the near future?

. So that's what I have in the horizon. I know this next year is going to be The Last of Us, the movie and I know there's going to be The Last of Us, the game, too. That will probably start at the end of next year, moving towards 2016, 2017.

Kinda funny, don't remember anyone ever picking up on this two years ago, although we had plenty of other leaks and hints that some form of development was happening with the game.

I swear to God if Ellie learned to play guitar from Joel but not learn how to swim I will shave Druckmann's head.

Guess there won't be any joke books, because this game will be darrrk. I want to see Ellie get roided up, put on some combat boots and go goth.

If there aren't any lakes or rivers or beaches around, then she can't learn to swim.

Maybe there will be a progression of Ellie's change of personality. She can be more like the first game's Ellie at the start of the game and become more ruthless at the end or the other way around.

I was watching the TLoU P2 panel and I noticed that both Ashley and Troy were wearing this

Are Ellie and Joel part of/running an anti-Firefly group now?

Nice spot!

I think the two of them turning on the Fireflies would be a great story to follow. Go against what lots of people are expecting and have Ellie be fine with Joel's lie, and now want revenge.

Does anyone own the art book for The Last of Us? I've never bought an art book for anything, but buying it has been on my mind for a while, so... Is it good?

When TLOU came out and I played through it, I thought the idea of a sequel was criminal. It was the perfect example of a game that absolutely doesn't need a sequel and shouldn't have one.

After I replayed it on PS4, I decided that I did want TLOU2, but Joel and Ellie should be no more than NPCs, cameos. New characters would be a must. Mostly it was because that's simply how I thought it should be, but part of it was that I assumed there was simply no way Neil Druckmann would ever agree to a sequel if it was just going to rehash Joel and Ellie.

So, I'm torn here. Glad to get more TLOU, but not like this. I can stay open minded though. If anyone could pull it off I suppose Druckmann can.

FWIW, he specifically talked about this fear on the panel after the reveal. He basically said that he would not have returned to this, or these characters if he didn't feel like he had another worthwhile story to tell. So we'll have to see, it's up to him to back up his word. But I'm not too worried.

Or she's just bought Joel's lie and he's misleading her based on what he said at the end of TLOU.

Or he told her the truth that they were going to kill her even though chances are it wasnt going to work.

Like. If I was Ellie and I went through all the shit to stay alive that they did in the first game just to have them kill me without my consent I would be pissed.

Plus Im sure the Fireflies have been after her to capture her since the ending of the first one.

I just had an idea. What if thats a firefly camp that they are at in the trailer and its just after Joel has helped Ellie after she was kidnapped by the fireflies.

You know, given that killing people is pretty much the status quo in that world, I'd find it pretty unbelievable that Ellie wouldn't at some point forgive Joel for what he's done, let alone forgive him for "the lie". She's aware of his situation, and what their relationship dynamic is. And no matter which way you look at it, the Fireflies still rushed an unconscious Ellie into the operating room without any second thought as to her consent, seemingly only going off of Marlene's "you know this is what she would have wanted".

I've heard Neil talk about "being honest" when writing characters before, so I'm genuinely curious which way he's going to go with this.

The Artbook is really cool.
Has a good quality and the concept arts are insane (in a positive way).

P.S.:

I do not believe that the content of the trailer is so important for the final game.
If you take a lookback to the first TLOU Trailer you will notice that it is only showing the hotel scene, wich is not important at all for the final game (It was even completely different). The most important thing you can see in that trailer is, that Joel is protecting Ellie.
And I think the same goes for the TLOU Part II Trailer. With the difference, that the trailer reflects the "hate" Ellie feels. But I do not think that Ellies message, that she is "going to kill every last one of them", is that important in the final game.

I also do not believe that Ellie and Joel are running a Anti-Firefly-Army or something like that. 5 years are gone since the final battle in the hospital. Why should they start to hunt fireflys after that long time?
