I'm already well aware of that subreddit, these are same people that think changing an operating room from green to blue destorys the entire story, like genuine mental illness type shit.
Also that quote make absoutely zero sense whatsoever condisidering the same exact game ends with the triple down of "I would do it all over again". The people with this take are the same dumbasses that think Neil secertly hates Joel because he killed him and didn't have every character suck his dick by agreeing with all his actions, even tho he's on record saying he'd personally do the same thing as Joel did.

You're not saying anything wrong tho. It completely overhauled the game play, along with the new graphics. It also adds substantial amount of new content to the package.
In terms of how different/improved they are from their original counterparts, Nier did a lot more.

It can look good sometimes but generally it looks average and characters are pretty bad.
But looks aside, it's a terrible remake. They destroy everything that was good about Mafia.
Tommy is now a gruff gangster from the get go with his stupid voice. He was supposed to be a normal everyday fish out of water taxi man... you know. Like in the original.
Paulie looks like a pillow with eyes. I don't understand how they ruined him...
The shooting is terrible, music is terrible.
Driving was fun and city looked good. Pacing was also improved over original but I do say that original long drives had it's charm

They should delay it. They've already made a remaster, if they mess it up they can't make another remake after a remake after a remaster, they only have one shot to do this right. And Ragnarök comes out two months later anyway. No need to rush this out without implementing what fans were expecting.

Supposedly it will be a while before current gen games are able to match what they have done with the remake based on what the lead dev has said. So I think it's safe to say that the gameplay leak is wholly inaccurate for end user experience. It's crazy how much authority people have willingly given these leaks but I guess it's the world we live in.

To be honest, most of these "lies" can be stretched into "techinically true" while still falling below what people assumed he meant.
Just for example, the combat may be redone, it may "feel" better than the OG under the hood without adding all of Part II's mechanics which is what people thought. Or there are new animation systems whilst also mixing them in with the old ones.
In that case it's more misleading than lying.

I dont know if people want to call this a lie or failure to meet deadlines but they're been inaccurate before. This is an old video but has some interesting details from way back when the game was unveiled.

You can point a finger at Sony for their non-consumer practices but in the end they still deliver with their games most of the time. One fiasco with this remake won't change that fact.

Why are raised eyebrows being directed at the official enhacement list as opposed to the gameplay leak? Instead of writing off what ND said as false based off of the unofficial leak, why not dismiss the unofficial leak based off of the official list as stated by the developers? I'm not saying you're wrong or right, just trying to better understand your decision on which source to put stock in.

To me, the Uncharted series were real hype, great graphics, fun gameplay, incredible set pieces. Last Of Us is a good game, but nothing spectacular or worthy of repeated remakes.

Fidelity looks great, animations are nice, when Joel is choking the enemy the facial animation for the enemy is definitely different and improved. It is still not worth $70 to me at all. I don't know what gameplay changes people were expecting. The only reason people should buy this, in my opinion, is if they are really wanting a ps5 physical version of the game or if they never played it.
But as far as new gameplay goes this is exactly what I expected to see. I really don't understand what people expected to be different.

There's nothing that can be solved here by a delay.
It's not a lack a polish, first of all people are just assuming that what they're seeing in a couple of videos leaked from who knows which build is the full story when it's probably not, second based on these leaks they're asking for this remake to be a project with a much bigger scope (full redesign with new gameplay mechanics and whole levels fully adapted to take advantage of these new mechanics otherwise the new mechanics per se are pointless or could actually break the whole game giving advantages that shouldn't be there).
This is in hindsight even more hilarious, this project is both the remake no one asked for but at the same time people are asking for a much bigger scope and development time spent on it
The situation is pretty simple and doesn't even deserve these storms in a cup, just wait until you hear the full story from ND, if you like it you buy it, if not just play something else or wait until this is added to PS+ Extra next year.
Personally I won't buy it regardless of the gameplay improvements because it's a game I fully remember and has no surprises left for me, I would just drag myself through it.

Yeah, i remember talking about this back when the game launched. ND used to have some pretty accurate trailers and demos before TLOU. Every since then, they have been playing fast and loose with terms like realtime and ingame. TLOU2 also had a lot of stuff like motion matching downgraded, and we all know the controversy behind the Uncharted 4 1080p 60 fps trailer.
Curiously enough, TLOU was the first time Neil became director. The U4 teaser was also done under him after him and Bruce took over from Amy. Maybe it's just Neil and his misleading ways.

I'll be charitable and say it's stuff they meant to achieve but just didn't quite get it in time. The trailer is great, and looks pretty close to the final product. But the video has interesting details nonetheless about discrepancies between the marketing and final product.
