Think I saw her teleport as well, but they still did teleporting in lou2 as well so... not good, not terrible.

I'm taking a wait and see approach. I'm not on copium, cause I honestly don't love the TLoU series like I used to, but I'm very curious to see how this goes. A remake of TLoU1 with modern graphics and the 2nd game's gameplay sounds amazing, but if it doesn't have that then I don't see the point of this. So if the leaks are bullshit, then great. But if they aren't then I'll excited to watch the drama unfold.
 
So instead of officially releasing high quality 4k footage we have to look at low quality washed out leaked footage?

WTF IS SONY DOING.

Their silent marketing strategy is beyond stupid at this point.

Watched some ps4 footage from the remaster to compare and i have to admit that the PS5 version is fucking leagues better in terms of visuals. In my mind the remaster looked way better than it actually does
 
The Last Of Us is one of my fave games of all time and this was a day 1... but now if the leaks are correct, no prone/dodge/jump , lack of improved gameplay or level design I think I will wait for a sale.

ND marketing dropped the ball on this one.

If these leaks accurately reflect the gameplay overall then ND flat-out lied. Hoping that isn't the case.

Same here this is strange. That is not ND QUALITY standards. I remember for the last of us part 2 they said key people had left the company so the process to get at the right quality level took longer for those that were not as capable as the people that had left. But the end results are there in part 2. What is funny is the level of drama some people portray. If they behave like this in they everyday lives good god!

Hahaha so basically with the Clickers you have to either blast the shit out of their face with a rifle which is a one hit kill, or sneak around them. You can also craft a shiv, sneak up behind them and grab them from behind for a one hit stealth kill. Bricks and bottles will also stun them momentarily. You can't punch them with your hands or you'll be eaten immediately. Don't give up this time, this game is so worth playing, especially if you're a father.

This remake si fine for people that never played the original Game. But for "veterans". Better put Your money on new IPs if those leaks are similar to the final product.

I've been playing the Remaster and Factions quite a bit last weekend and yes, all movement, cadence, it really is more or less the same. I never expected prone or jump to be there but definitely some additional gameplay features.
I'm looking forward to playing it no matter what day one but I was really hoping for more than a fresh coat of paint.
We'll see.

By the sounds of the video leaks (assuming they hold true for final release), the game isnt really a remake at all, but more of a polished up remaster. One of the plugs ND did months ago is say they had TLOU2 gameplay improvements.

Remakes are supposed to be reserved for games which involve things like this:

- An old game getting a total modernized look

- The writers/producers take an old game and adjust the story, map layouts, gameplay tweaks etc... Not saying it has to be dramatic like taking a Friday the 13th slasher and turning it into an F1 racing game. It's similar to the old game at a high level, but can basically be is own game as it's different enough in every way

I was all aboard the day one train until it seems like the gameplay from 2 didn't make it over. If that's the case I'll wait and get it at a discount, but I'm also waiting for some more detailed analysis rather than a knee jerk outrage thread of leaked footage.

And also lol at the marketing here, the game is gold Sony what is you waiting for

The same reason why Sony hasn't shown us any new gameplay videos of the new God of War game. That game comes out in 4 months and NOTHING!!!
 
$70 for this is laughable. It looks basically how I remember it except the faces look different.

I wonder if this will not sell very well, TLOU2 already did not sell as well as the first game.

Game looks way better, but the gameplay core remains the same. I'm okay with that tbh. But not buying this day one. Gonna wait for a price drop. Problem solved for me.

I mean, and I am trying to be optimistic, it is possible that they have put in the option to play the game as the original and it defaults to TLOU2's changes?
If not, very very disappointing.

I mean the guy literally said hitting the same quality bar as TLOU2 implying that this will look and play as good as TLOU2.



Next time crunch, work harder, and make $70 next gen games look next gen or quit and go work for some indie trash studio or Ubisoft. If this isnt an older build then ND should be embarrassed to call it a PS5 game let alone put their name on this PS4 title. These guys are the best studio in the industry. They cannot ship a game that looks like this and then boast about how they didnt work hard enough.
 
I paid $85 for this? TLOU is IMO the best game ever made but this looks exactly like TLOU. There is no visible improvement in the gameplay at all, and honestly it looks kind of awkward, like TLOU 2 graphics with TLOU 1 animations.

I hope they did not outright LIE about "Modernized gameplay" in the description because then I'll do a lot more than just ask for a refund...

Sony's way of making refunds require talking to staff even for a simple pre-order for something not released yet is stupid.

There are so many points that need to be addressed here: The hate-boner for ND after the Last of Us II controversy; The pricing, especially in light of the not-so-great differences...
The one that I have a real issue with, is how evasive and "ambiguous" ND statements have been about the improvements, creating a void that people have filled up with their own expectations. This is a noobie's mistake, honestly: That Jason guy leaked the title more than a year ago, so why the secrecy? Not for a sequel or an original IP, mind you...Not even for a reimagining...but for a simple update of an existing title. They should have released footage way before the internet adopted the prevailing narratives. Instead, they decided for a drip feed info strategy...

I'll replay the ps4 remaster just before this cash grab comes out so I won't be tempted to buy it.

Even if what was shown is an early build it won't be as good as we wanted it to be. 👎

Yeah, i can't wait for sony apologists to say that playing the game with the dual sense is the promised upgrade, a dreamlike experience, better than assfucking a pornstar etc.

Free upgrade from what?

It's a remake. There is no last gen version to even upgrade from.

The next Factions multiplayer has since been expanded into a more ambitious standalone title rather than a MP add-on.
 
This...doesn't look good. Gameplay looks the same as the OG, Joel's animations don't even look more fleshed out like Ellie's in TLOU2, they just made the game look a lot shiner. Heck, the lighting looks really off to me...

Was already disinterested as I thought this project was a waste of time but did say hey, if it's brought up to part 2 standards I might get it on sale but this doesn't even look like it's on par with part 2
 
"Enchanced Combat" could just mean alot of things going on under the hood to make it "feel" better, rather than a bunch of new mechanics/features.

Then of course there's the AI, which can't really be judged from those videos becuase of the lower difficulty setting, even Part II's AI looked dumb on lower settings.

Pretty damn unlikely. Would be strange since a remake already exists with TLOU-1 controls and generally TLOU-2 just brought improvements in terms of gameplay. Very few would prefer to play 'the original controls' and those who do already have a remake..

Not impossible but even if they did do it, I'm pretty sure they would have announced it already.
