Since I could find no way to put the game on my dashboard...

:D

So psyched! Played it on PS3, but it was my friends copy. I'm rebuying to get in some of the MP action... and to also play on the higher difficulties of the SP. :)

Anyone know if it will be downloadable at midnight EST?

Going off track a bit, I just thought I'd share the theory of mine, as far fetched as it may seem. Regarding Tess.

In the beginning of the game when you're all in the car and you pass that family on the road and Joel commands Tommy to "Keep driving!" - Tess is the little girl.

I know, I know. Bullshit. But I like to think it's true.

I doubt it since Sony's joke of a store goes in pacific time.

she calls him "texas" implying she's not from there, and they're in boston, doesn't seem likely!

No, he's right. The odds they'd both end up in Boston are infinitesimal and the fact she calls him Texas indicates at the very least that she isn't also originally from the same state. It was a bad theory.

That...that would be a pretty big age gap between Joel and Tess, yeah?

I like the way Tess says "yeah?" all the fucking time. It has actually stuck with me since last year. It's kind of annoying.

Well either way, you made me realize Tess is likely around the same age as
Joel's daughter. Or I guess how old she would've been.
Kinda trippy now that I think about it.

Guessing that tess is 35, and we'll put Joel's age at 48/49.

So yeah, pretty damn close to Sarah's age.

For Tess maybe, but I don't think Joel is almost 50.

All information I've seen puts him in his late 40's. He also has the face and hair coloring of somebody of that age.

edit: He is certainly in his late 20's in the beginning on the game, I would say 28 or 29. We pick up in boston 20 years later... so I'd go with 48/49.

Surviving 20 years in the apocalypse would do that to people.

ND never if it was late forties, early forties. They just said in his forties.

Well he still has to be at least 15 or 16 years older than Sarah because... otherwise well even that is damn early to have a kid. Even that would put him at 27 or 28.

More like 20 years older than Sarah so that would put him over 50 years old, 20 years after the apocalypse.

To be fair Joel did say he
had Sarah when he was young. It's one of the reasons he didn't attend college.

But I don't think he would've been that young. So I always assumed early 50s by now

I didn't remember them mentioning that he was in his late 40's, but I just checked and it is on their official site

A brutal survivor with few moral lines left to cross Joel, now in his late 40s, has been hardened by the ravages of the fungal plague that has devastated known civilization. He's lost family and pieces of his humanity due to the damages of the plague and the heavy-handed military presence that surrounds the events. Living in one of few remaining military-controlled quarantine zones he operates as a black market smuggler, dealing in contraband, taking numerous de-humanizing jobs over the years to survive and while shutting down his emotions to cope as his conscience slowly dwindles away.

It looks like most most of the craziness has finally settled down in this thread now that some people were able to get their hands on the game. It's as if the thread is in the refractory period.

There we go! That's fantastic. I look forward to the deluge of gifs come release day.

I can't quite tell on the rest but I just noticed that they completely redid the brick textures on the building to the right. They've made the size of the bricks much smaller.

Nice improvements all around, great stuff, although I must admit the game does not look so blurry on my set. Dont know if it is my TV doing the magic, but it certainly aint that blurry.
