So its confirmed to be on disc then. Sauce?
when are we going to gameplay
Is there any word on a upgrade option for owners of the original or should I go ahead and sell that?
Then cancel and pre-order elsewhere? I don't understand.
Why would you actively want to give Game money? They'd be my last resort.

Will left Behind be on disk?

Yes it will!
I am very excited about this release. But the one thing that concerns me is how are they going to fit the game and dlc on disk, after the upgrade. Wasn't the original game close to filling up the disk?
Hey guys, looks like there will be a bundle PS4 + TLOU Remastered for 430.
Deserves a thread ?

So can someone update me ; did they detail the upgrade method yet ?

Did they confirm an upgrade method? No other remaster has an upgrade option so I didn't expect one for this.
Kurt Margenau, Lead Game Designer, Uncharted 4 was also among few lucky ones who tested The Last of Us: Remastered, read his impression about 60 FPS below, he called it "Transformative":
"Played some #TLOU at 60 fps tonight for the first time (60fps cutscenes and all). Transformative. I'm a believer. Don't think I can go back."
To this, Neilan Naicker, Dynamics Artist at Naughty Dog replied:
"That's been my experience playing the multiplayer, I can't imagine playing it any other way now."
I think it's hilarious that people, especially developers are just figuring this out now. 60 fps for shooters is one thing but for third person action games it's like playing a completely different and BETTER game. I realized this the first minute I put Tomb Raider in my PS4 and had never felt so in control of a video game character in my life.
There is also an added intensity since it no longer feels like everyone is moving in slow motion. Tomb Raider is the best feeling PS4 game yet simply because of its more fluid controls and responsiveness and that's not even straight 60, it's mostly 40s and 50s so I can't imagine how smooth and buttery TLOU is gonna be on PS4.
40 to 50 is nothing in comparison to locked 60. Tbh I don't even think it's better than locked 30, it's just shot, but it may depend on the implementation.
However, it's freaking hilarious that some of the best console devs around are just now acknowledging the benefits of 60fps. How did they NOT know this before?
However, I'll take that as a good sign. Many crows will be eaten by all the 30fps fans when tlou is a way way better experience at 60fps. I hope it's for the better and it will change some minds. 30fps is really just a slideshow if you are used to 60.
All they ever said was that they were "looking into it"

1080p 60fps is what this new console generation is all about and without it we might as well go back to our PS3's and 360's.

Hahahaha, of course they knew.
C'mon.
We only have to win with Naughty Dog moving to 60fps (even if they go back to 30 after Uncharted 4). More developers may follow them, and also with those insane visuals they achieved with Uncharted 4, 30fps games will have a new standard to achieve if they wanna justify the framerate with better visuals.
Have you seen Uncharted 4?
From my understanding 60 FPS was very difficult to attain last gen due to memory/bandwidth restrictions. This gen it's a lot easier to hit 60fps without totally sacrificing the visual fidelity40 to 50 is nothing in comparison to locked 60. I'm not so sure. There are some hilarious statements done by some devs and execs regarding tech. And look at all those gaming journalists. I feel like 85% know nothing about tech as well.
Sony, release that Steelbook here in the UK and US if possible
They aimed for 60fps during the PS2 gen so they do know. It's absurd to think that Naughty Dog didn't know what 60fps is like, sorry.
It definitely was a bandwidth issue last gen. I think a lot at ND were just skeptical of how much TLoU in particular would benefit from the framerate boost since it's so slowly paced. From my understanding 60 FPS was very difficult to attain last gen due to memory/bandwidth restrictions. I am very glad that ND is aiming for 60 again. ND combined with Halo moving to 60 will increase the visibility of 60fps among previously 30 series.
I'm actually a little worried that they're focusing on 60. I'm not in the camp that believes 60 fps is automatically better. It depends on the game. For instance, I don't think TLOU is a title that needs 60 frames. But, I'm glad it's running at that framerate since it's just a remake on much more powerful hardware.
However, for Uncharted 4, I feel like aiming for 60 frames is going to limit the scope of the game and keep them on restricted paths rather than opening up the gameplay possibilities.
But, this is just speculation on my part. Uncharted 4 running at 1080p60 with the visuals shown in that trailer is just insane.
We'll have to wait until the game is out for more info but I doubt ND would announce a target framerate that would limit their vision for the game. It may just be a case of them hitting the fidelity and scope that they wanted with enough overhead to push the framerate up.I'm actually a little worried that they're focusing on 60. Not sure if this is the best place to post, but I am 51% of the way through the game on PS3 and I just can't push myself to play through it anymore. I appreciate the extensive visual detail and human-like subtleties across the characters, and the writing is good as well. However, I'm just not finding the game very fun to play, especially during this particular section. The world feels too static and the stealth mechanics are overlooked in favor of combat even though you're actively encouraged to run away if you're ill equipped.
60fps makes the graphics and gameplay better, so what is not to like?
I've managed to sneak past enemies a few times only to encounter a ladder or door that either couldn't be picked up or wouldn't open until I killed every enemy. I feel that it violates the game's own rules.
It also means sacrifices in other areas such as detail and scope. Naughty Dog works magic, but even they can only do so much. I'm sure they know what's best, but it would be disappointing if the game was as restrictive and static as the last 3 just to keep it's framerate. In that case I'd rather rock solid 30 with wider environments and more physics + interaction.
But we haven't even seen anything so what do I know. Work your magic, ND.
a Valid concern that I share. Of course I want a game to be 60fps but I would rather take 30fps and have more interaction and player agency.
