The scarce supplies in survivor mode was ideal for the post apocalyptic setting in TLOU. It made scrounging for supplies that much more crucial. I clocked in 22 hours on my survivor playthrough (huge chunk of it spent scrounging). It didnt hurt that the world in TLOU was so stunning and begged to be explored.

Limited ammo also intensified the gameplay and really forced you to make your shots count.

TLoU's Detective Mode (from the Arkham games). If an enemy is walking you can see their movement through a wall. But you can completely disable the function in a menu which will make it so that you're never tempted to use it.

It's the only way to really enjoy the game and feel the tension. Amazing stuff.

I played through the game on Normal with Listen Mode on and the tension nearly killed me! I could only play the game for 30-45 minutes at a time without a long break. Towards the end I did play longer stretches though.

I really want to try it without listen mode to see what the hype is all about but I fear I won't survive the playthrough.

I'd buy that steelbox in a heart beat. Already bought a PS4 this week brand new for $360 in preperation for June 29th (and June 17th Destiny Beta). Can't wait to finally play TLOU multi with friends and mics!

I've always said the true The Last of Us experience is playing it on Survivor, wish it was available from the get go but oh well, Hard + Listen Mode off is still a great experience.

All of the DLC is included on disc for the PS4 version AFAIK. If it's not on disk then it'll be available for free as a download.

Its kind of like Gears, but there's no stupid wall-bouncing and you can't just use the shotgun the entire time. Some would argue that that play-style IS Gears, but its what I hated watching Gears turn into. I liked it when people used all the different weapons, which is the case with TLOU. You'll encounter Assault Rifles, Semi-Autos, Pistol only players, etc. Its diverse and better for it.

You can do a lot on your own, but its generally best to have solid teamwork if you're worried about winning all the time. Its intense. The summer I spent playing the shit out of this was one of the most satisfying times in my years of multiplayer gaming. Can't wait to do it all over again next month!

The increased asset quality and improved lighting combined with the framerate could really boost the visual appeal of the game. I remember playing Left Behind and thinking it still compared favorably to some next gen titles.

Awesome. TLoU was one of those games that–as much as I enjoyed it–I kept thinking, "This game is just too ambitious for the PS3".

No, if you set your PS4 as the primary console of your US account, all accounts can play the games owned by the account.
