Started this game one hour ago and I wish I could share my impressions. Oh well, back to it when I get home again.
Let me guess - "HOLY SHIT that intro was incredible. If this game keeps up this quality it'll be my game of the generation!"
We have idiots on every forum that are willing to commit account suicide just to prove a point. I've done so well avoiding most of the media on this game, and now I feel that paranoia creeping in.
Probably not, maybe its best to visit this thread and other TLoU threads and start reading 10 pages behind, to make sure if someone spoils something the mods will powerbomb them on to a table or if someone slips up, they will spoiler tag their stuff.
Its some form of safety, but if you refresh a thread, you can never be safe
If someone spoiler bombs, they'll be banned and it'll be removed, but you're not safe really.

Anyone remember when someone created a thread for Halo 4 outing the ending? It got tweeted by NeoGAFNewThread's Twitter, too.
Makes me remember when someone on GameTrailer's Heavy Rain trailer posted who the killer was in the comments. What an asshole and obviously ruined the game's story for me. =(
For some reason, my review copy of The Last of Us is very late. Regardless though, based on what I've heard, this game is going to be gooood.

So its coming from arguably one of the best devs. this generation and the game looks solid, but its hyperbole? What i do see is people not wanting to give credit where credit is due and that is to say Naughty Dog are just that good.
Also another game did get just as much hype and that was Uc2 by the same developers. After its showing and previews the hype was astronomical and the consensus is that it lived up to the hype. Arguably the highest rated exclusive this gen (yes Mario galaxies scored higher but also had alot less reviews aggregated into the score, which i think isnt fair when comparing because Uc2 had well over 120 reviews aggregated in its score increasing the probability that it would get scored lower)
Based off demo and whatw eve heard i bet you the hyoe is warranted. Of course there will be ppl to go against the grain and others paid off to lower the score but hey thats life.
