The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword announced for Wii [N-CONF]

I can't get over how good this game looks.

Plus, the possibility of an aerial mount/transportation system thanks to the name as well as many other worlds and zones, wow. I can't wait.

Control problems it's just an issue with miss-calibration of the Motion+, I have suffered them a couple of times with Grand Slam Tennis.

The wireless interference was a joke, because Google had some problems in their conference a couple of weeks ago and blame it on the WiFi, Apple made the same joke at the WWDC too.

Wow looks great the style. Love the use of colors.

Only negative is that one enemy in the second screen is a terrible design. Hideos.
The colors are nice but I'm not digging the general lack of environmental detail. Very bland and safe. It's certainly a nicer look than TP (which was the definition of design by committee), but it's nothing making me think that they're actually going beyond upper-mid-range GC visuals.

Woah, the Link character model is AMAZING! Beautiful stuff.

The environment in that shot looks terrible though.

Okay, so the Link model and a lava stage. An environment that's been present in every friggin Zelda game.

Well you can be as reductionist as you want, it doesn't change the fact that there was hardly anything new in either of those trailers. The second one showed at least half a dozen locations and none of them looked new or fresh.

Game looks amazing, and I have complete faith in Nintendo with the controls.

Adult Link + Windwaker-ish graphic style + Wii Sports Resort controls = potentially greatest LOZ of all-time. :D

This Link looks perfect to me <3

The game looks gorgeous, and the controls will be fine. Probably lighting messing with WM+'s calibration. WSR controlled fine, and I'm sure they've improved on it since then.

And lol @ people angry at an E3 tutorial stage.

I can't believe the initial reactions in this thread to what are obviously unintentionally disrupted controls. If somebody demo'd a game with a traditional controller, and said demo controller had broken buttons, would people still bitch? No, the guy demoing the game would say "What the fuck, there's something wrong with the controller, my A button doesn't work". But because it's Nintendo and because it's Zelda, people automatically assume the worst.

Art style looks perfect. Haven't seen this yet, so here's another screenshot;

Like Wind Waker on steroids. There's this huge push from people to have ultra-realistic graphics, but you know what? I'd much rather have games push in the opposite direction. Realism is real, it's all around us. An interactive painting? I'd rather see more of that, and it looks like Skyward Sword is headed that way.

Gameplay looks sharp, control issues aside. The Bug thing looks like it'll be fun, the bomb-bowling looks neat, the whip looks like a HELL of a lot of fun. And I'm sure we've only seen just a taste.

That first wide shot of the world looks really impressive. Hello Deku Tree, is that you?:lol

Can't believe people are bitching about the UI. It's not that big of an issue and there will probably be UI transparency options.

Overall, looks amazing, will probably play amazing, and kicked off the best E3 conference I can remember seeing... ever.

Looks like a storybook, really impressive.

But that's the thing, dude. Sure, they didn't introduce much new stuff in the trailer, but the thing is, they didn't show much to begin with.

Look, I'm just as willing to jump the gun and denounce a game years beforehand, just as much as the next guy, but I think a game like this deserves the benefit of the doubt, at least until we see more environments/gameplay.

Epic Mickey had IR aiming problems as well...so that might've been half true.

Also Mushroomy forest is newish. I havent seen anything that looked remotely like that since the SNES classic GB era.

What I really like is the blur in this pic in the background, it looks like painted!

Yes! This game looking fucking amazing. Shame for the that first impression, though, I know, SM had some interference, but I seen some other vids, and the game seems to control fine. I really do love the look of the game... has a Okami vibe, but better. Nonetheless DAY 1

Then I shot a two-minute video to show you the game in action. Good stuff. Sword controls were superb, and closer to 1:1 than I expected (note the little leans of the sword when I tilt my hand). Bowling bombs feels right.

I'm a little worried that I had no camera control and I didn't like having the map option made inaccessible whenever I had an item in hand.

Otherwise, pretty good. The whip is fun to use and overall you are using the angles of your gestures to fight more effectively. That requires a little more dexterity than I'm used to in a Zelda game, but not in an annoyingly complex way. I felt capable and powerful as Link, not confused.

As you can see the graphics are okay, but not overwhelmingly impressive. This style of quasi-realism does not look great on the aging Wii hardware.

Comment on the graphics aside (I disagree completely, but to each their own), it looks like the controls will be just fine, just as we knew they would.

Jesus, I'm not denouncing the game. I'm saying I'm not impressed with what they've shown so far. I didn't know you guys cared so much about my first impressions of a videogame trailer.

This graphical style is EXACTLY what I imagined when I first heard that "The Legend of Zelda" (ie. Wind Waker) was going to be cel-shaded. Moments later, I saw it, and have despaired of ever getting a cel-shaded game without that pukey art style since then. Now, at long last, here it is. Thanks, Nintendo.

It looked good in the low quality stream, but it looks amazing in the direct-feed trailer. A truly inspiring art style which, like WW, will be timeless.

Don't worry too much about the locations shown guys. It seems it's more of a demo area than a final piece of the game with things thrown around everywhere for demonstration purposes.

Sigh, hate to say this, but even WW had better looking trees nearly two years before it even released.
