So how much of a hand in the production does RZA have? Obviously it's his album, but on Wiki it says he produced like 2 tracks.

Where is GZA at?

I'm sure RZA still changed up some things on these beats like co-produced.

But yeah few tracks in and this is really sounding like a great evolution of the Wu sound...I wouldn't mind at all if Wu tang releases started to sound similiar to this in the next few years..

Too bad there wont be any more Wu Tang group projects. An album of these calibre beats would be exactly what the clan need

He fell asleep everytime he was up to drop a verse

He Execed. it, so he oversaw everything. Arranging, sequencing, mixing etc
Seems that way on 6 directions.

I see, so that is why it still certainly sounds Wu like. Anybody finish yet? I am almost done. Really good.

Didn't care for the revelations track and I think I didn't like Chains. 2 more tracks to go. The production is indeed something else.

I'm enjoying this way more than 8 Diagrams, production is on point and some great features, especially Monch, G Rap and Gibbs. Severe lack of GZA and Deck but otherwise I'm glad I pre-ordered it.

I thought Rza said he was thinkin of trying to do one group project and tour for the 20th anniversary and it'd be the last? Or was it just a tour?

As far as i know its just a tour. Might be wrong. Plus alot of the members arent on board for a Wu album, they all happier doing their own things.

fucking ridiculous if they doing their tour they might as well record a quick 14 together! That's more money

Apparently Rae and them are still salty over RZAs direction on 8Diagrams. They need to do another album, with RZA in charge. Dude has mad classics with his name on them. Have some faith in the man.

But i read an interview saying the clan members are real lazy nowadays when it comes to recording and RZA would only do a clan album with all recording done together in person. No Emailing verses and that. But egos and everything else in play, schedules and all that bullshit will never allow it to happen.

The Man With The Iron Fists - When it's on it's really on, and when it's not it's just okay. The album doesn't have a bunch of lows, but it does have a bunch of tracks that simply pail in comparison to its highlights, which is to be expected when dealing with such a high variance of contributors. The Man With The Iron Fists is a really high quality offering, but I do think that RZA went too far out of his way to try and incorporate a bunch of new school rappers. It also goes soft too often. You really only need one downtempo song on this album. Tracks like the Francis Yip track and the Mable John one provide enough flavor to change the pace without disturbing the flow, while the R&B flavored joints just kind of feel out of place on the album, though I'm sure they work well within the actual film. However, when the album is on its Five Fingers of Death shit it's an unstoppable armored juggernaut that you wish would keep going without making pit stops or making sidesteps. 8/10

Album Lows - I Forgot To Be Your Lover, Get Your Way, I Go Hard, In The Wind
Album Highs - Everything Else

Danny Brown rips that shit. He's one of the few new school inclusions that really goes extraordinarily well on here. Wiz and the Flatbush Zombies are antithetical examples.

FUCK there's a digital bonus track with Deck on there. *looks at Amazon pre-order* FUCK

edit: and the 25$ Digital Deluxe version looks hella appealing as well.

I'm only not feeling the last song and blowing in the wind. Only missteps to me.

Edit: but even then, those I think are just okay, nothing offensive to my ears.

Danny Brown is probably the freshest dude right now. Did y'all hear Molly Ringwald? Nobody could have flowed as well as that on that beat.

And then Belispeak 2 was really good too. I wasn't aware he was on this soundtrack. Hype rising.

So me Acid, Apocalidiot and Ninja on the Liquid Swords train. Im okay with this.

Des your Danny Brown stannery is baffling

You basically have to listen to XXX until you get it, although i dont think youll ever like it.

Rivers of Blood is easily a top 5 song for me this year. God man I wish Kool G could still do that polysyllable shit.

Yep it also seems like it was made years ago by Kanye. I don't believe he recorded it this year.
I don't know where y'all are getting this from. It sounds absolutely nothing like TCD/LR Ye. Production style is giving y'all that illusion.

Sounds straight out of MBDTF era, lyrically and stylistically. But it certainly couldn't have came out of the MBDTF sessions because the only other track they did there was Live Fast, Die Young IIRC. Had to have been recently.

If Ye was splitting like that back when he broke out, he would have reached unanimous GOAT status in a year.

This movie/soundtrack, man. I can't wait.

The Baddest Man Alive reminded me that Blakroc existed, though. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.

It reminded me that they were working on Blakroc 2 once. And that reminded me that Jay Elec still exists. So definitely a bad thing.

Okay nobody else is gonna talk about this track so I feel as though I must. Killa Sin goes nuts on the Archer, which ends up being one of the grimiest tracks on the album.

On The Vista and a couple of other songs are pretty good, it's just that the other main thing I remember from Blakroc was NOE and his Jay-Z impression.
