Too bad there wont be any more Wu Tang group projects. An album of these calibre beats would be exactly what the clan need

As far as i know its just a tour. Might be wrong. Plus alot of the members arent on board for a Wu album, they all happier doing their own things.

man, id put solid $ on a 20th anniversary album effort. worse thing they can do is another live album of their biggest hits, but this would really be a chance for them to all get noticed/a check and since ghost, meth, rae, gza etc all have solo joints they wanna work on, this'd be another opportunity to stay relevant. i cant see them passing on that entirely, even with their egos.

It's mine on Tuesday, along with Kendrick.

+1, this week has been incredible.

Yep it also seems like it was made years ago by Kanye. I don't believe he recorded it this year.

that was the impression i got too, yeah...also i was hearing brown thinking "des is gonna love this track" on the other

This movie/soundtrack, man. I can't wait.

The Baddest Man Alive reminded me that Blakroc existed, though. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.

did others not enjoy Blackroc? i recall digging more tracks than not, between coochie, stay off the flowers, hoochie coo, tellin me things etc

I actually quite like Blakroc, all things considered. It gets a lot of hate from Black Keys fans who hate hip hop and a lot of hate from hip hop fans who hate the Black Keys, though. That and, I dunno, some of it is great and then there's stuff like NOE's presence and that weird moment where Billy Danze comes in hard like he's going to drop 40 bars or something and then just sort of... stops. The album feels a bit flat and incomplete, in my opinion. Some real jams, but a bit of filler.

I'd love to see a Blakroc 2, though. Like I said, The Baddest Man Alive on this album is indication that they could pull it off.

Saw Liquid Swords 2 in the thread title and had a mini heart attack. Then I read the whole thing.

I wanna experience the movie and soundtrack together so I'm holding off until I see it in theaters or elsewhere. I have listened to White Dress though. Honestly, it sounds like one of Ye's laziest efforts. Still pretty cool though. Way better than all this trap music he's been putting out lately.

RZA is the fucking man. Can't wait to see the movie/hear the soundtrack.

Know this threads for the soundtrack, but what are the chances the film is good?
Depends on what people are looking for I think.

The optimist in me thinks it'll be a fun, old school martial arts film with some modern twists. In classic kung-fu style, it'll be over the top and cheesy in spots, but it could work.

I'm expecting a fun silly movie with lots of gore. I liked both Afro Samurais and I'm pretty much just expecting a live action kung-fu oriented version of those.

here, this so hard - i think going in with those expectations is best, rather than Esha's. every recent interview, RZA's sounded mad proud of what he's done here too. cant wait.

Man haven't heard from Res in a looooong time.

They Say Vision is still such a dope track.
Res has put out a couple of tapes, works with Talib Kweli as Idle Warship...but yeah, her career has been a disappointment, especially after an album like How I Do.

Still waiting for a proper sophomore album.

That said, I didn't like the Idle Warship track, just went back and listened to Beneath The Surface.

Yeah, I didn't really like it either.

On the plus side I'm putting back 'How I do' back on my rotation. Such an unique and solid album.

Went for the regular version from bandcamp (and got a digital download which I'm listening to now) since I had to buy Sleeping Dogs yesterday.

Edit: I wish I could get a GZA/Cappa-less version. :(

Don't get me wrong It's still a very good song. And I guess calling it one of his laziest efforts is a bit of an exaggeration.

As cool as the beat and sample are, I know he's more creative than that. I feel his best songs feature some sort of beat progression (ala Gone, Lost In The World, many others), whereas White Dress pretty basic. As an MC he sounds better than usual, I thought after WTT and Cruel Summer he had completely lost it.

RZA said the film was his 36 Chambers of directing films. He never said either the soundtrack or the movie were better than 36.

He said 36 chambers came first then he made more masterpieces with Liquid Swords, Cuban Linx etc. Hes comparing his films to the run of hip hop he had. As in this is just the beginning, The 36 Chambers of his directorial career.

Rivers of Blood is that House of Flying Daggers shit, shit just goes

When Raekwon kicks it off I just want to fucking PUNCH SOMEBODY.

Tick Tock might be my favorite beat and song on the album though. Pusha T's verse is better than anything he spits on Cruel Summer and Raekwon and Joell Ortiz come good too. But the star is reincarnation of OD(anny)B(rown)

It's some kung-fu western shit.

The soundtrack has my more hyped for the movie than any preview/trailer could. If the feel of the movie is the same as the feel you get from the music, this movie will be a blast.

Can't drum up even the slightest interest for this movie :( Perhaps if the entire movie just lays down the score over it, it will work. But have to imagine everything outside of the action will be terrible.

i really cant see why people are raggin on the movie - its prolly gonna be more like some black dynamite type shit than a classic morality kung-fu piece, but the former's still fun.

80 percent of Gaf-Hop likes Danny, you're buggin

ad populum don't make him the next ODB though, brown's something else entirely. still, ima revisit the song to see, disco pointed at lyrical content so that might be fair.
