So what are some of the most expensive games/accessories? I have MGS:TTS, the component cables, a couple of the Hori pads... already sold Ikaruga. Looks like the RE4 CE is still worth a decent amount.

I remember working at Superstore in Canada in 2004, for some reason we had HUNDREDS of copies of Eternal Darkness in our backroom and they were there since the game launched.
Our supervisor decided to throw them in the clearance bin for $1, im sad I never bought a copy.
I was unpacking last weekend and discovered that I have a SEALED Skies of Arcadia. This was updated somewhat recently

I don't have much interest in it, maybe I should sling it to eBay?

I am 90% sure that the GB Player hardware is region free, but you'll need an appropriate boot disc for your region to use it.Hey guys, does anyone know whether a Game Boy Player attachment from Japan would work on a US Gamecube? The start-up disc would be from the US btw.

Best do some Googling though.
You are correct. You can import a Japanese GBP to match your console color, but you will need a startup disc from your region to play it.

Is there any way to tell if a GCN is a DOL-001 or a DOL-101 if it's still in a sealed box (like the serial number or something)? I know someone who wants to sell me theirs for cheap, but I don't want to drop the money down if it's a DOL-101.

Alright guys. I hope you can answer this for me. I have a disc only of Luigi's Mansion, and a spare GCN case. I downloaded the cover art for my version of Luigi's Mansion. I'd really like to know what kind of paper to use to give it that nice glossy look when it's in the case, and generally what place (Kinko's, Staples, etc.) is the best place to do it. I know at the least that I'll need 8x14 paper.
I never traded a single GC game (or any other) ever. However, my copy of Mario Kart: Double Dash is beyond damaged. I lent it to a friend in college and he returned it scratched to hell. Which sucks, because it was one of my favorite GC games. ;_;
someone has scratched my simpsons hit and run disc, do repairs work?
I wouldn't mind knowing this either actually!
I got a mad score recently, the equivalent of $30 USD for:
1x white Wii with all the cords and stuff (and some cords I don't think even go with it like universal power supplies, etc lol)
1x Nintendo USB Wifi Connector
1x Gamecube Freeloader
1x Wii Freeloader (sadly doesn't work on the newer firmwares though)
1x Donkey Kong Jungle Beat NTSC Gamecube game
1x Donkey Konga 2 NTSC Gamecube game
4x Bongo controllers
The games are scratched to hell though. They only just play and take a few goes to get going. It's really uniformed scratching though as if they have been inside the Wii and playing while somebody shook the console, or something. I'll try add a photo soon.
Does resurfacing work? I wonder where I could get it done...
I have a method for visually assessing scratched disks. If I notice that a disk has scratches I also check the side of the disk with the art painted on it. If there's any scratches there, I flip it over and hold it up to a light. If light easily and clearly passes through a scratch, that disk is a dud. There's nothing that can be done because light passing through pretty much means that the data layer is damaged. It just so happens that scratching the data layer is easier to do from the side where the art is printed because the data layer is just underneath the art.
If you notice no scratches near the data layer there's no light coming through, the disk is pretty much salvageable through a good resurfacing. Many games have been brought back for me through resurfacing.

This is usually true, but I have several GC discs which have been resurfaced, and have no more visible damage (and you can't see light through them), but they still don't work. I don't know where the invisible damage is, but it seems to have killed them...

I picked up a JP gamecube this past week in Japan. What do I need/best option for playing US games on it?

You could also open it and mod it to only play us games or toggle switch for us/jp if you're handy with electronics.
one of many guides
but no matter which way you go you will need at least 2 memory cards.
PAL and NTSC saves live happily in unison on my MC (although I still have two because they're so starved for space!)
With a hardware mod(switch) a us system cant read a japanese formatted card and a japanese system cant read a us formatted card. It will ask to format it if you put it in the wrong one.
Then I wonder why anyone would do a hardware mod instead of simply using one of the disc-based region changers like the Freeloader.
It's a bit more convenient. You'll still need a separate memory card with a Freeloader if you're playing Japanese games on a North American system or vice-versa.
So that's a Japanese thing then? Since, as I mentioned, there's no issue with PAL and NTSC-U/C saves on a single MC.
Was diggin through the storage unit the other day and I found my copy of Crystal Chronicles.
So happpyyyy. It's one of my favorite games of all time.
Yeah, definitely seems that way. Probably has something to do with character sets.
GC games are gold! lol! I post stuff in the B/S/T thread, haven't sold a thing in months (even mint skies of arcadia gets no attention)... post up some GC games and my inbox blows up. lololol
