Cult of Personality was re-recorded for GH3, right? Maybe that particular version isn't owned by Sony. Does anywhere online note down the label credits from these games?

TheGreatDave said:

Dunno, but it should almost certainly be listed in the manual... shouldn't it?

In fact all of them should be in the manuals with a "by permission of..." entry.

All aboard! The Love train!
My Guitar Hero 3 manual doesn't have any credits in it.

But Living Colour's last album was released on Universal in 2003. Their upcoming one is independent. So Universal could have the rights to the re-record.

This is such a crock of shit. Song export was the only selling point for the GH series to me since they only put like five good songs on each disc.

Neither my copy of Smash Hits nor World Tour has that stuff listed.

According to Wikipedia (yeah, I know!) the following songs were recorded specially for GH:

GHIII
"Anarchy in the U.K." The Sex Pistols
"Cult of Personality" Living Colour
"Dream On" Aerosmith (dlc)

GH:WT
"Overkill" Motörhead
"Pretty Vacant" Sex Pistols
"Jailbait" Motörhead (dlc)
"Love Me Like a Reptile" Motörhead (dlc)
"Iron Fist" Motörhead (dlc)

There's no indications of if any of the GH:GH songs were specifically recorded for it.

I don't think it is

edit: i stand corrected.. I thought the gh3 one had a longer ending solo

Gonna get some points later and start downloading some of those suggestions (pending approval from "she who musty be obeyed").

Thanks for the suggestions so far. If anyone has any more feel free to suggest away.

On another note, I've been going through all my rhythm games recently clearing the difficulties (OCD, lol). All 360, and I've been doing them in order of release, starting with GHII and ending so far with GH:GH. Completed everything on easy, including DLC and bonus songs, and now I'm going through on medium. I've currently 5starred EVERYTHING I've come across, and am now halfway through the bonus songs on GHIII. Not looking forward to Dragonforce! lol.

When I finish, and am about to embark on Hard. What would be my best way to ease myself into it? I had a quick go on one song on GHII on hard for shits and giggles and got completely destroyed about 15% in :-( Any recommendations for the best game to start on (GH's or RB's), or best songs to start with.

I just can't get used to that darn Orange fret, and as soon as I move my hand to be able to reach it all my co-ordination goes to pot.

Anyone got any good advice for the long road I have ahead of me? I'm getting sick of playing on medium whilst everyone I play with do everything on hard or expert.

Just keep at it. As you build muscle memory it becomes easier.

what he said, eventually your pinky will click if thats the issue.. that was my problem anyway.

if you are already using 4 fingers, I recommend starting with the first fret being the red, instead of the green.. it was easier for me to learn to slide down than up all the time

What dave said helped me a lot playing hard (still not to expert except for teh easier songs) default your index to red and learn to move it to green when needed on medium then try hard and add the pinky on orange

A simple angry smiley won't do for this. My rage transcends it.

I tried editing this dude's video to see "Rock Record" better, because it's really hard to make out what's there in the video:

2d8fiih.jpg

Looks like it may be Crazy Stat Mode! I see "songs played" at least. Longest Note Streak, average multiplier, etc. TRULY, NEVERSOFT AM GODS.

Also; some dude made a tier list. Click here to see it (it's very long). From what I can see, nothing is a tier 10 on guitar, which means maybe Neversoft are actually ranking these with DLC in mind.

*edit* These are the stats I can make out (from the video, not just the screenshot):

Total Score
Total Song Stars
Total Notes
Number Of Songs
Longest Note Streak
Average Multiplier
Preferred Instrument
Preferred Guitar Difficulty
Preferred Bass Difficulty
Preferred Vocals Difficulty
Preferred Drums Difficulty
Number of Cooperative games
Number of Verses games

I'm still working on clearing through the Mediums, but I had a quick go on Hard for GHIII (Foghat, I think it was), and managed to actually get through a complete song. 3 star, but that's par for the course with regards to me trying a new difficulty, so that technique was clearly working. Thanks guys.

My GF had a go on it too, and failed... which was odd cos she's been dabbling with Hard mode on RB/2 for a while, and said that she thought that RB/2 Hard mode was a bit more forgiving. Is there any truth in that? I know it was GHIII we was playing, and that's notorious for its yo-yo difficulty, but she's pretty adament that the RB series is actually easier than the GH series.

Maybe I'll leave GHIII on Hard till last then, lol.

TTFAF on Medium destroys my hand (and the best I can get is 3 stars on that bitch!).

Yeah, I'm down to playing through my GHIII DLC and was gonna move on to the next game, but I'm kinda thinking about just moving on and coming back to finish off GHIII last.

My fret hand would forgive me, lol.

Obvious GH5 flaw that needs to be fixed #1

They've removed the "Leaderboards" link after you finish a song. I.E., the best new feature of GHWT. Bulllllshit.

It'll come back as a GH6 innovation.

They removed it from GH:M and GH:SH too. I'm thinking they couldn't handle the mad bandwidth or something.
Yet Geometry Wars 2, a $10 game, has leaderboards that shame every score based game in the world. It boggles the mind.

I don't find too much difference between the HARd mode in GH:WT and GH3. There are about 5-7 songs that I fail in GHWT and about the same number in GH3(TTFAF of course). I can 5* TTFAF in medium but fail everytime in hard. RB2 is a lot easier on hard for me but I have been improving a lot on guitar lately (have pain in my wrist so cannot play much drums). I GHWT i fail the ted nugent duel everytime and cannot seem to be able to finish assassin in the easier venues. the other ones are some of the latest venue.

GH3 and GHWT > RB2 in hard mode even if GHWT is a lot less forgiving in timing

Do You Feel Like We Do is in the same tier as Scatterbrain on guitar? Really?

The ending is kinda nuts. I think failing Do You Feel Like We Do is more likely for me than Scatterbrain just because of it.

It seems like the only reason they put it there was because it's 13 minutes long. There's so much dead time in the song otherwise.

They charted the keyboard to guitar, as well.

The chart looks great.

Or, it may be because the song has some pretty difficult sections. Green Grass And High Tides is 90% easy, but the hard stuff makes it's tier in RB appropriate.

I haven't used the internet in the past couple days... Has there been any more words on the lame ass exporting?

I'm canceling my preorder if it really comes down to half the game not transferring over.

Nothing official, but it's all assumed to be true.

any word about the new guitar controller? i'm thinking about getting a new one to replace my shitty RB1 Strato

It's red, it's the same shape as the old one, and the only major differences are the insides. Strum bar is supposed to be better, improved touch strip, etc.

Well there is a debate if the list is right or wrong... but they did say they will continue adding licenses over time, not just stop at whatever songs they have next tuesday... and the fee from my understanding is one time, so is 3.50 for WT transfer, including future songs.

Nah, there's no way that's true. The money being charged is a relicensing fee, what you're paying is for what you're getting. If they put more songs up, you'll pay for them too.

What was that Peter Moore quote about 360 BC? That statement reminds me of that.

Thanks for the info though.
