What am I doing wrong?

I put the vapor in the syringe and then I use the syringe to inject the vapor into the clearomizer. I have the clearomizer on it's head as instructed but the vapor isn't going in and instead it drips out from the bottom of the clearomizer. Thank fuck I wore latex gloves and did it outside my first couple of tries but I'm trying to understand what I did wrong.

well, what type clearomizer are you using?

You're holding the clearo upside down right? So that the threaded atty is pointing to the sky? Sort of similar to the technique you see Nurses/Doctors use when they draw liquid out of a vial with a syringe? And you're also going through the partial hole in the white seal right?

If you're doing all of that, then the only way you should be leaking is if you're overfilling it.

Yup, I'm holding it upside down with the syringe pointing upwards. It doesn't even fill up. I securely put the syringe inside the little hole in the clearomizer and then push the liquid in except it doesn't even go in, it leaks out.

Did you push the syringe in until it pierces the seal?

Double check to make sure the syringe tip is completely secured on the plunger assembly and maybe try the second tip to make sure the first one isn't faulty somehow.

Dammit. That's exactly what I just got in the post. Gotta say, the speed of delivery from that site was incredible. They really seem to understand the needs of a smoker/vaper! Package is neat too. It looks like an Apple accessory! Wish my Twist would hurry up and arrive so that I can put them to good use!

Steeped is pretty frickin' good. It was a little too earthy for my taste in the beginning, but I can work with it now.

I also have the Blueberry Crumb from them too. :-/ Not feeling this one so much.

That's my favorite juice, there.

You should try Sweet Caroline from iVape.net. Its tied with Blend 4 for my personal favorite all-day-vapes.

I'm also a dedicated Backwoods Brew customer especially for their Malty and Malty Toffee. Finally, I also keep Heather's Heavenly Vapes Heavenly Tobacco in the rotation.

Recently we tried the BLU brand and their "classic tobacco" flavor has a coffee taste.

Has anyone tried BLU?

Also, which brand of E-Cig has the tobacco flavor closest matching a cigarette?

For those of you with the Phoenix clearomizers (in OP option 1), tell me if this cycle happens to you:

1) fill new clearomizer, tastes great for first few refills (using same flavor throughout)
2) taste starts to muddle over time until it's unrecognizable
3) clean clearomizer, let dry a few hours, fill with juice
4) taste is now muddled because of the water (hard to get wicked after it gets wet?)
5) after vaping that entire tank and then filling it a second time, the taste finally gets good again
6) return to step 1

No. Ive been using Phoenix clearomizers exclusively except for the occasional drip session and I have never noticed taste getting muddled over time. Each juice gets its own carto and I never clean them only refill them. The only time I had to replace one was when it started leaking suddenly.

I use the 2.6-2.8ohm version, and never vape above 4 volts on them. Usually i keep my eGo twist right at 3.7, same as non-VV eGos. Anyway, I wonder if that (lack of heat) has anything to do with my clearos not gunking or muddling in any way.

Hmm. I use the same resistance clearomizers and also rarely go over 4 Volts with my eGo Twist.

Do you ever have to suck in without holding the button (gets the bubbles out from around the atomizer)? I do this when I sense the taste is getting bad. It helps, but if I do it too much it seems to temporarily "drown" heating element.

Well, when i want to wet the coil, i squeeze the clearo between my thumb and forefinger 2 times right in the center. This pushes juice down into the coil, then when you release, draws air in (you can see a little bubble rising after each squeeze).

Dont squeeze too many times though, as youll drown the coil and have to vape away the excess juice before you get a good vape.

Ok, that's a fucking cool tip.

Your best bet is to buy your own liquid from a well regarded vendor. The stuff that comes with disposables/pre-filled 510's isn't usually that great.

This happens to me if I vape a flavour none stop no matter what it's in. After a couple of weeks juices that gave me a "Holy shit that's good" reaction just taste average, no matter what I put them in. I give the flavour a break for a couple of weeks and then it's good again. I think my taste buds get bored easily :p

After trying 3 displosable eCigs (Blu, and two others) I decided to buy a real deal one.

So I went with the Joyetech eRoll for its portability. Battery is not an issue for me since I'm near a usb port 99.9% of my day. And I've heard great reviews.

Well, I love this thing. I got the standard Menthol juice from Vapor Alley and it tastes great. Throat hit and smoke output aren't as solid as a real cig or a hookah (obviously due to its size.) But its a great little thing to have and tastes and gets better smoke than a disposable by far.

My question - 1: I went with the lightest nicotine flavor (I think 8mg,) Now if I go up to 16mg will the eCig taste "stronger" or will it taste and produce the same throat hit and smoke, just have more nicotine?

My question - 2: What would be the next step up in eCig from the Joyetech eRoll? A little bigger but better smoke output and throat hit?

Thanks

1. Flavour and vapour likely won't be any stronger. The throat hit will absolutely be harsher.

2. An Ego battery. Options 1 and 2 in the op cover that.

The the throat hit and smoke output of these things are directly related to the size of the batter?

Throat hit is determined by the amount of nicotine. A better battery will produce stronger flavour, throat hit and vapour due to the higher voltage, but that is also determined by the type of atomiser/cartomiser you have on your battery and the juice. An Ego battery will be an upgrade in every regard, but upping the nicotine amount from 8 to 16mg will produce a better throat hit even on your Joyetech eRoll.

I'm assuming the eGo battery will not fit on my eRoll?

So I have to start all over and buy a new setup?

If you want better flavour/vapour/battery length, yes. If you're content with what you have but you just want a stronger throat hit then just buy higher nicotine juice. The problem with the one you've got is that it doesn't have a 510 connection, which is the standard Ego connection that 90% of the recommended atomisers/cartomisers in this thread uses. It's like the USB of e-cig connections in terms of widespread use. As such there isn't really an upgrade path with your current battery, because all of the things we'd typically recommend to improve your vape such as a 510 dripping atomiser or Phoenix clearo's aren't compatible.

Gotcha.

Last question: What would be the smallest (most eRoll like) 510 setup?

There are many batteries with a 510 connection that are as thin as the connection itself, about the size of a cigarette. Just do a search for 510 battery and pick one that is the size you want (I assume you think Ego sized batteries are too thick and you want something like this). Bitmap Frogs was looking for a small 510 battery a couple of pages back, perhaps ask him what he went with. But many people find the vapour/flavour isn't as satisfying as they'd like without going with an Ego size battery. Smaller ones are always going to have their drawbacks.

Alright, I went ahead and ordered a 510 Starter Kit.

If I like it I'll be looking to sell my Joye eRoll. If anyone is interested PM me. I only used one cartridge and one atomizer cone. Everything else is still sealed.

Thank you guys for your help.

No problem. If you want the best possible flavour/vapour you can get out of a small battery get a 510 dripping atomizer. It requires you to drip 5 or so drops of liquid on every so often so it isn't the most convenient, but it's unbeatable for performance.

Plus, you can use the awesome and universally praised phoenix clearomizers from the OP on your regular cig-sized 510 batteries!

Thanks to everyone for all the useful info in this thread.

I got "Option 2" in the OP from Hoosier and have been off traditional cigs for a couple days now. Don't miss it -- of course, this does nothing to help the nic addiction (might be worse actually, this is kinda fun), but hopefully my lungs will thank me.

Tried Hoosier's wild cherry which just seems kinda weird, and their Dekang Virginia which is surprisingly a bit "sweet" for a tobacco flavor. Both at 18 mg. Have a bottle of DK-Tab which isn't opened yet.

Anyway, I'm writing for advice on clearomizers. The Phoenix bottom coil ones in the op are sold out at GotVapes. They seem to have top coil versions, but reviews on the site -- as well as here, if I recall correctly -- were none too positive.

The closest thing I seem to be able to find is here. Not sure if it really is the same, or if the vendor is ok.

Any recommendations for me? I'd like to build up a stock of enough stuff so that I've got no excuse to burn a regular cig.

CE3 = Phoenix. Just a different name. They're sometimes called VK Comet too. That aside, my other favourite clearomizer is the Kanger T3 (or MT3 if you want a metallic sleeve) but some people have received bad ones. In my experience the great outweigh the bad (I now have 4 including two MT3's I received yesterday, both good), but I might have just been lucky.

I have two mt3s 4 bases and none of them are bad. A buddy of mine has 9 of them and none are bad. Idk. They may have solved the issue. They are the best clearos I've had IMHO. Definitely get the metal ones though. They are much more durable.

I'd like to add VaporAlley.com to the list of trusted sites.

I ordered my eRoll starter kit and juice on a Monday and had it on Weds. Shipping was standard $3.

Everything came sealed and in great condition. Their 'Menthol' flavors tastes great also.

I'm putting an order together at gotvapes. Getting a few Kanger T3's. Anyone order juice from them? I figured I might as well get a flavor or two while I'm at it.

Agreed. I tried the MT3 after a juice (Rawr Hawaii Sunrise) cracked one of my T3's within an hour. I knew it was risky putting it in an MT3 since it still has a window, but I've been vaping it a lot over the past 24 hours without issue.

That's what I thought, but it looks like CE3 Smokeymizer are different, despite being labeled "CE3". Reviews seem to indicate that those are annoying and have a silly little plug that needs to be removed with tweezers.

In any case, I'll get some CE3 from another vendor and see how it goes. Again, thanks all for the useful info.

The ones you linked from AltSmoke are perfect. And AltSmoke is a well known and respected US vendor.

I just picked up the NJOY (gold)? I have to say, its definitely pretty understandable about why people love these.

Is this a shit brand? Tastes OK. I'm trying to quit, so this is what I'm doing.

Any recommendations for better ecigs, or will this do just fine?

I'm not familiar with the NJOY, but this starter kit is exceptional and is what I currently use today as my daily vaper.

Just got in an altoids box mod from SmartVapes. Love it.

@commedieu - They're called starter kits for a reason. But anything that helps to stop smoking is a winner in my book.

The NJOY king things are probably as good as you can get for a cheap disposable one. If you want to spend a little more and try one that doesn't actually look like a cigarette you can get a much better experience though.

Edit - Actually they aren't even that cheap now that I look, though I guess the cost is more like traditional cigarettes in that it is in smaller, more frequent spends.
