Grab a Vamo V3 (plus Nitecore charger and 2 Panasonic 18650 batteries) from Fasttech for $50 shipped.

Also, the Kanger EVOD clearos are a step up from CE3s, but theyre $5-6 apiece, as opposed to $10-12 for a 5pc CE3.

This is what i did to upgrade from eGos and CE3s earlier this month, and I really couldnt be a happier vaper. All i want now is a rebuildable dripping atty to take advantage of the POWER of the VAMO.

Damn it....I'm really, REALLY thinking about pulling the trigger on this.

Seems so cheap for batteries and charger, etc. I just don't really like the design of the V3.

I felt the same way you did when i first saw the V3 but it really grew on my as i pondered purchasing it. Now that I have had it 3+ weeks not only is it a FANTASTIC APV, but i really like the spiral-grooved look now. I think it makes it stand out amongst the other "lightsabre" PVs. :)

I just saw that link above to the FastTech site, is that place just selling knock-offs or is it all pretty legit stuff?

They have the same eGo-C Twist battery I paid 27 bucks for for like 11 bucks with free shipping! And my local place charges 9.99 per EVOD tank, on there it's 22 bucks for TEN of them!

I dont know.

I ordered a 5-pack of EVODs from them. They look identical to the originals. I found that the FastTech EVODs were producing more dry hits than my legit one was. But dry hits is a common problem with EVODs and removing a thin layer of wick in the head fixes it. This fixed the problem on all my FastTech EVODs.

So yea. I dont know how they can pull off those prices, but I can't imagine they are faking all this stuff. I don't know.

I'm stumped.

I'm looking at the K100 mechanical mod they have for less than $25. Unless someone can recommend another cheap mechanical mod.

I'm guessing all this shit we buy is made in one of 2 or 3 factories in China and this site is literally a distributor of product from those factories without mandating a vendor license from it's customers.

I love the internet.

The Vamo that FastTech sells is a true Vamo, along with very high quality Nitecore charger and Panasonic batteries. Undeniably a five-star deal. Got me to buy my first mod in three years of vaping!

I went ahead and bought a bunch of shit from FastTech just for the hell of it. A new 1100mah eGo-C Twist, 5 EVOD tanks, 10 atomizer heads, and 2 chargers. 37 bucks shipped!!

That's less than I paid for my "starter kit" which was a 650mah battery, a T2 tank, charger, and 30ml of juice. That was like 55 bucks.

Unreal.

I should be getting my Vamo v2 today. Does anyone know the difference between the v2 and v3?

The Vamo v3 has a different screen, a removable top cap for cleaning and has removed the option to set voltage/wattage levels on the basis of average (as opposed to RMS). It was a setting on v2 whether you want to use average (I believe it's called NO1) or RMS (NO2). Make sure you change it to RMS, as the use of simple average for this purpose is silly.

Go to the ECF Vamo forum for lots more info.

Got my first order from Namber Juice today.

- Order shipped a few hours after I placed it. (Not made to order.)
- Shipped from Michigan. (Think Nick and Amber live in Nevada.)
- Bottle game plastic wrapped. (Assembly line shit.)
- One 15ml bottle shipped in a small flate rate box for free (waste of money for them.)

So I guess they've got someone else making this stuff. I dont know how I feel about that. I liked the idea of Amber making the juice in their basement with that "homemade" feel to it. But I guess thats not the case.

I'll give impressions on juice in a few days. I ordered Glacier Banana

Thanks. I'm enjoying it so far but I've started to get a burning taste using the Vivi Nova. Wondering if I should have gone with the Kanger Pro instead.

I got an order from them and wasn't blown away. It was decent.

Hey guys,

I'm interested in getting one of these, but don't know much about them (and a lot of the sites related to e-cigs are pretty..shady looking). so I was intending to just go with Option 1 in the OP. But when I checked a few days ago, the Phoenix cartomizer packs were out of stock, and as of today are no longer even listed on the GotVapes site. Is there a replacement type of cartomizer anyone could recommend?

Forgive me if there's already been a discussion on this and I just missed it, but I'm still a little unfamiliar with the vernacular associated with e-cigs and a good deal of these posts just look like gibberish to me. Thanks for any help!

Edit: Scratch that, they just changed the listing for them on the GotVapes site. But still, before I invest in it, is Option 1 in the OP still the best starter set to go with?

I like the EVODs better than the CE3. They hold more juice and are easier to fill.

These are the ones you mean? They're definitely more subtle, which I like. It was one of my main concerns with buying one.

Would I still be able to use the battery recommended in the OP or do I need to find another?

Thanks for your advice.

Yes that's them.

And that battery is great also. If you are really concerned with size, you may want to get that battery in the 650mah version (as opposed to the 1000mah version you linked to.) The 650 will be a little smaller.

But 1000 will obviously last longer.

Newbie to the scene,

What is the PG and VG % when dealing with the juice?

Thanks for the info.

Propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG) percentages differ from maker to maker, but if you mean what each of those percentages entail, I got my information from here. I'm new as well, but after reading some reviews and talking to some people, this write-up seems pretty accurate.

There's wayyyyy too much info. Can someone just give me a good starter kit (or list of parts) that I can buy to try this e cig stuff out? And maybe some generally well regarded liquid (if it doesn't come with the starter kit) and a decent place to buy this stuff? If it's small enough that I could take it out places that would be cool too, but maybe I can buy a separate one just for going out if small ones suck or whatever.

I was about to buy a blu starter kit at walgreens the other day, but I thought I'd see if GAF had a thread and just got bombarded with a ton of info.

Get two Ego C-Twists, the charger crap (wall thing and cable thing), and at least a couple packs of Boge or IkenVape SR or LR 510 cartomizers. I feel weird giving out links in this thread because it feels like I'm advertising for these places or some shit since hardware-wise they're generally all selling the same stuff. A lot of the sites in the OP will have this stuff, sans the IkenVape cartomizers (since you can only get those from IkenVape's site). IkenVape makes better cartos but Boge are pretty good as well and they're sold all over the place.

For liquid I'd order from Good Life Vapor first as it's high quality, has a nice selection and is reasonably priced. Get the Melon Boba. Mt Baker Vapor is super close to us here in Oregon and the cheapest place to get liquid, but it's really not as good as GLV's stuff and I don't think it would make a good first impression. It's certainly a place to try when you feeling like trying a lot of random flavors out since it's so cheap, though.

Damn, that looks huge, but I'll get it. Do you guys take this in your pocket when going out? Is it normal to have a smaller crappier ecig for going out?

There are smaller vapes, but I think these Ego batteries are probably the most common ones that people that get into vaping use for going out. The actual big stuff is like flashlight sized with LED screens and industrial strength batteries and shit. These Ego batteries are around 6 inches with a cartomizer and drip tip attached, at least the 650 mAh versions of the Twists. I find that all of the cig-sized ones (which are the only things smaller than these really) just don't hit anything like a proper vape most of the time, or won't last anywhere near long enough charge-wise.

That's one thing I forgot to mention before, buy a couple 510 drip tips if you go the cartomizer route. They're the little mouthpiece things you stick on the end of a cartomizer. You can just use the little rubber stoppers that come pre-installed in the ends of the cartomizers but it's a lot more convenient to have a drip tip mouthpiece you can take on and off easily, especially if you get any atomizers down the road. It's also way more comfortable.

Let me know if you get confused when putting in an order and I'll make sure you wind up with the right stuff.

Wallach dropping knowledge as usual.

Just dropping in to say that after using Mt Baker juices for the past month, I felt like a change and decided to give VapeDudes another chance and it seems like they may have finally got thier shit together in terms of getting orders processed. I ordered a couples bottles from them on Aug 1st and ordered some hardware from GotVapes the same day and while usually VapeDudes stuff arrives 5+ days after Gotvapes stuff, this time they arrived the same day on Aug 5th (3rd and 4th being the weekend).

Hey JC. I'm pretty much in the same boat with Mt Baker; I am just about through my May order now, and I think if I reorder anything it'll just be Hawk Sauce. That flavor really does it for me, even though it doesn't have the throat hit I typically need. Will probably go back to GLV for a while and try some of his newer flavors.

Dudes, check out Alien Vision. I got Irish Cream, Hype, and Boba's Bounty from them and I really like them all.

Irish Cream is really smooth, very creamy.
Hype has a dope peach hit thats refreshing.
Boba's is a chill with a cup of coffee vape. Smooth and easy.

I will definitely be ordering more from them.

I've tried Alien Visions in the past but isn't that still just one dude mixing? They also had their CC records compromised in the past as well, which could happen to anybody but still bothers me.

Any Canadian vapers going to VapeCan next weekend? :)

I just looked it up and I'm totally down for this. E-cigs have been on my radar for a while now, but I've never taken the plunge due to insane shipping fees or vendors outright refusing to ship nicotine carts to Canada due to legal stuff. Hell, I recently asked my friend to pick up a blu e-cigs starter kit for me while he was in the States, but due to a silly technicality - they wouldn't accept his Canadian driver's license for proof of age - he couldn't buy one. Seems it may have been a blessing in disguise!

If you see a tall Chinese dude walking around looking clueless, feel free to come up and say hi.

Edit: For the vapor vendors like Good Life Vapor, what am I buying? Do I simply plug what arrives into a cart, or do I have to manually pour the fluid into an empty cart?

Yeah i still order from AVE for their Blend 4. They rebuilt their entire website so its secure now.

I would also recommend to Timedog to pick up some Kanger EVOD clearomizers when he finds some juices he likes. To me, those are the best clearos on the market in the $5 apiece range

You're buying a bottle of liquid with a dropper top (like a very big bottle of eye drops).

You fill a cartomizer with this by soaking the polyfill (cotton looking stuff) inside it; there are a few different methods of doing this you can look up on YouTube. It's very simple.

If you are using a clearomizer (which is basically a little tank that has some way to feed into a coil), you just fill the tank portion with the liquid, then seal it back up. If you look up a Kanger EVOD, you can see that the base unscrews at the bottom, so you'd just unscrew that, turn it upside down, fill the tank bit, screw the base back in (with the atomizer coil screwed into the base), then turn it rightside up again and attach it to your battery.

You can also just buy an atomizer, which is essentially just a coil. You drip directly into this attachment and it only holds maybe 5-10 drops at a time, so you only get a few pulls each time you drip. Some people prefer to vape this way since it has the fewest elements between the coil and the liquid, so the flavor is affected the least out of all the different ways to vape.

Thanks for the explanations, sounds easy-peasy. I'll probably go with either carto or clearo, since I don't want to be re-dripping every few pulls.

I'll check out all of the vendors, chat up a few, and then maybe buy an all-in-one that has hardware I've seen recommended here.

had an ecig for a couple years. never used it. flavor was horrible. figured to give it another shot this week. ordered cinnamon carts. HAVEN'T smoked a butt since. my savior was cinnamon. go figure.

Well it's been about 6 months since I've had any Gorilla Juice since AVE juice got compromised and took forever to get back online. My CC was compromised with them previously and they gave me two 40$ gift cards for their site.

I had been trying for the past month to get online right when they open to place an order. Was finally able to do so today. By this tuesday I should be enjoying my Gorilla Juice and all will be well in the world.

ps.. After a year and a half of vaping I still haven't had a regular cigarette. YAY!!

Nice man. Stay free, cigarettes.

I put another order in at GLV. Need my Melon Boba fix. I tossed in a bottle of Deadly Sin, which I've been meaning to try but keep forgetting to order.

BTW I saw a link on Reddit for a free (except for the $1 shipping) 10ml bottle of juice from Apollo. They recently changed from reselling to making their own liquid; not sure yet if it's any good, but people really seem to like the Baja Blast stuff. You have to order on this page:

The coupon code to apply is: freeliq

How would you describe Gorilla Juice?

Is it really like tobacco or is it sort of like tobacco? Boba's Bounty is a tobacco vape but doesn't really taste like tobacco.

Personally I don't think it's like tobacco at all. To me it tastes like a nice blend of Banana, Coconut, Pineapple, and maybe just a touch of Tobacco. I don't understand why they classify it and Boba's as 'tobacco' flavor when neither taste of it.

Is there a big difference in the quality of ingredients between the major e juice companies?

Bought some from Johnson Creek Smoke Juice because they are a local company, but thinking about trying a more reasonably priced brand. Would like to make sure it is decent quality stuff though.

There can be a quality difference. Generally the stuff you see suggested here is going to be pretty good. Johnson Creek probably has the highest quality that I can think of just based on the fact that they really do a legit production line. They're the closest thing to a major distributor of juice in the US afaik, including being responsible for making the specific juice that Blu Cigs uses. They also offer at 100% VG line of juices sub-labeled as Red Oak if I remember correctly. Their prices are about the norm for most juices. Usually when you see stuff noticeably cheaper, they're cutting cost somewhere in ingredients and it shows.

So here's the deal. My best friend is 24 years old and just got into smoking a year ago. He is already a heavy smoker. He is also getting overweight, mostly from poor eating habits (fast food a lot) and a job that keeps him on his ass 40 hours a week. Long story short, he wants to get healthy and stop smoking. What I'd like to do is for his birthday buy him an e-cigarette. Nothing cheap. Something good enough to draw him away from the packs he smokes now. Even though the goal will eventually be to quit altogether, I don't want to skimp.

So my questions are: will the nice brands talked about in the OP do and do people recommend e-cigs if the eventual goal is to quit altogether? Is it a good stepping stone?

OP : Thank you for this thread, got linked here from the thread about Bloomberg trying to ban these (LOL, he is truly the best advertisement these things ever got).

I'm *this* close to going all in and ordering something. It's a little overwelming actually. My brother had one of those cheap ones that look like actual cigarettes, I tried it out once, it was cool as a novelty but I'm not sure that it could wean me off "analogs" (lol, I love that). The ones with the juices seem more gratifying from what everyone has been saying.

I'm spending too much fucking money on cigarettes, I smoke like 8 a day. Pack last me 2 or 3 days. Add in the hassle of needing to deal with ashes, the smell, health, unnecessary trips to gas station, etc. I still enjoy the shit out of the habit, and there are some things that I simply need a cigarette before/after doing, but I'm ready for a change.

I'm looking at these kits here : http://www.aquavaporcig.com/ego-ecig-kits.html

Are they still good value? This topic is like 3 years old, and I saw these being recommended a lot earlier but have no idea if there are better options now, still going through the topic!

I'm a newbie, but I'm thinking of just going for the 70 dollar version here : http://www.aquavaporcig.com/eGo-Spinner-Variable-Voltage-Electronic-Cigarette-Kit_p_131.html

Are the "bottom feeder tanks" worth the extra bucks? Or, if I'm just ready to go "all in", should I love elsewhere and mix and match where I buy everything from?

I've been doing a lot of cost-cutting recently, and I'd really hope for these to "pay for themselves" in the long run, if I spend between 60-80 a month on cigarettes, is it possible?

The OP is continually updated so everything in there should still be good in terms of availability and quality though prices may be slightly different.

Many people have used vaping as a way to curb and eliminate their smoking successfully, but obviously everyone is different. Typically those that use it to quit start with getting juices that have higher nicotine levels then gradually order juices with less and less nicotine to ween themselves off. It's pretty effective because it satisfies the oral habit as well as the nicotine addiction.

The starter kit you're looking at looks great, though I'm personally unfamiliar with the vendor. I prefer those "Spinners" over the eGo Twists personally as well so they're great (looking at it though, they could possibly send you "Winders" which I've never heard of). The EVOD's are also highly recommended by a few people here, though I haven't used them myself.

It's a pricey entrance but the batteries (Spinners) should last you years with proper care and the clearos (EVODs) should last awhile as well. The item you'll spend the most on is Juice and that varies with usage. I'm probably one of the heavier vapers in the thread and I spend usually around 40-60 a month on juice on average but I'm a stay at home Dad who can vape away all day pretty much. Even if your savings doesn't turn out to be great (which it likely will be great, but just in case) you have to consider the health benefits of switching as well. There are way less additives and chemicals in vape juice than there are in analogs so that alone will be beneficial.

Bottom coil tanks and clearos are popular right now and I have to say I personally prefer them to Cartos and wick systems. There may be higher quality wick systems but they're costly and I personally couldn't tell you what's what with them. Either way, they're not necessary for a beginner.

That's about the best info I can offer at the moment as I have to run but hopefully some of our more seasoned vapers can fill in the holes that I've missed.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm gonna order it. Gonna try "Double Mint" (Menthol smoker, might as well start out with something somewhat comparable) and "Fruit Punch" (Might as well see how these other flavors taste).

Hey man! I think you came down to our table yesterday. I was one of the VapeLoft guys that told you to get a mod from HappyVaper :) How'd you like the event?

Haha, Vlad right? Thanks so much for posting about the event, if not for that I would not have known anything about it and would have wasted money on a shitty e-cig. The event was great, I just regret not buying a second tank so I can easily swap flavors whenever I want. I read up on how to clean the tank+atomizer later that night on Saturday, and while it's simple it takes some time to clean and dry. I wound up buying 5 juices in total, so I'm eager to try all of them. Thanks for the HappyVaper recommendation, the guy who helped me out was great and I'm very pleased with the hardware I got - I don't think I need anything more serious than the eGo-C Twist for now, as cool as your taste tester units looked.

On a side-note, much respect to your buddy Anton, he's a good dude. Very enthusiastic about everything, patient, and informative. He was right - I don't miss the taste of cigarettes at all and vaping is the perfect substitute for someone like me who only smoked occasionally. Vaping inside my home watching TV or playing video games is glorious.
