Are the controls not working for anyone else in that carjack game?

And it's not a game, but has anyone tried the mcsweeney's magazine app? It looks really great, just wondering how much of the magazine you get for the price.

Whoa, looks pretty great! And it looks like it's all exclusive/new content for "Small Chair" which is the iPhone app's main...thing. It also updates daily with the mcsweenys.net stuff.

Is there any good card game (CCG, Guardians or Magic: TG style) on the phone? Apart from Orions? Orions is nice, but the "campaign" mode is downright terrible and duel only uses random decks.

I, too, would like to know.

Urban Rivals is taking too fucking long.

I've been waiting for a TCG/CCG as well. Moonga seems like my only answer so far... look it up.

Also I really that galaxy tabletop dnd style game that the imp or oaf guys are doin... Takes me back to my dnd days.

Yeah. It's been pretty awesome so far. Every weekday you get two or three selections from McSweeney's Internet Tendency. My favorite so far is Ethical Dilemmas Involving Klondike Bars.

The Small Chair content has been great as well:

SmallChair-1.jpg

1. Pretty lengthy discussion with Jonathan Ames, spanning three separate interviews.
2. Jonathan Ames reading Bored to Death; just over an hour.
3. A ~three minute film from Spike Jonze, Lance Bangs, and Catherine Keener reenacting a young Maurice Sendak's "abandonment" at the 1939 World's Fair.
4. Raw Water, story by Wells Tower.

That's all of the Small Chair content as of launch. App is $5.99 (includes first six months), and six month subscriptions are $4.99.

Finally got canabalt. Right behind Space Invaders this has to be the sexiest game in terms of style on the platform. I say this even after playing the browser version. I pref it on this platform more though.

I now look forward to the flood of good indie flash game ports once CS5 releases.

so my initial payment would be $5.99, does that run out six months later?

as far as what's essential, i'm in love with:

civrev
monkey island
real racing
flight control/harbor master
eliss
comiczeal
EUCALYPTUS!

Yes and yes. Initially, you pay $5.99 for the app and six months of subscription. After six months, you can in-app purchase another six month subscription for $4.99.

The actual app is basic in use, which is a compliment. Nothing gets in the way of content. That's not to imply it's ugly or spartan; the app has a nice style to it.

It's great for reading during a short commute or at night before bed. Every day you get something new to read. 'Course, I'm hoping for some Dr. & Mr. Doris
Haggis-On-Whey content in the Small Chair. I can dream.

Meteor Blitz is really fun, but I'm hating the music. Also, the controls are near perfect, but I find sliding my thumbs around the screen all the time to be a bit hard on the pads. Also is it possible to 'wear out' the screen? Doe sit have a special conductive coating or something?
Original 3G has no coating, 3GS has an oleophobic coating...which I've heard of being worn out once, not sure if it's happened to others.

As for your thumbs, there's some ghetto ways around it. You could get a matte screen coating, or (my super ghetto method) stick some tape on screen where the thumb pads are or just directly onto your thumbs. No clue if this will affect the coating at all since I'm still on a 3G.

And Bust A Move updated the balls so they're easier to tell apart and stuff, more like the old games where there was stuff inside the balls (old/new):

One drag though, it doesn't include (if you buy it today [I think]) the first two weeks' of content (or the bonus?). It's six months from this week.

ETA: Picked up McSweeney's. No other content except the Ames Believer interview (no Bonus) but still, exceedingly lovely app. I've been off the McSweeeney's train for a long while but this is really appealing. Might actually get me back into a subscription!

FUCK! it's midnight here in the UK and I just tried to download car jack streets as it's free this weekend but I can't because it's being modified :S

Been busy otherwise I would have thought about grabbing it earlier.

Ok so I just installed iTunes on my new PC and tried to sync my iPhone to it, but I can't find my apps anymore.

I tried to redownload purchased apps like Word Ace Pro and iTunes recognizes my account, so I don't have to pay anything.

But why the fuck isn't there a list with all my purchased applications?! Does Apple think I'm gonna manually look for all my apps? Too bad I can't remember all ~100 apps.

If there is such a list please enlighten me.

Sorry! You are right about the availability of content. Any previous content before the date you purchase is unavailable. :(

Hopefully they'll change that, but I guess I'll concede to McSweeney's that it acts as an incentive to purchase now (i.e when you learn of the app) rather than later.

Yea, you'd think they'd have some list where you can download all the apps you've purchased with one click, or at least be able to toggle.

Hey guys..I'm up in Canada and just opened up a US ITunes account to purchase games...would the Best Buy Itunes Gift Card be the cheaper ITunes gift card option or can I buy ITunes Store Gift Card somewhere else for cheap. Just wanna buy something in the US store. Tired of Apple shafting Canada with shoddy products, songs and applications compared to the US I-Tunes store.

Just bought Zenonia and Doodle Jump. Haven't tried the former, but maaan Doodle Jump really is hella addictive.

Also I'm hearing good things about Hero of Sparta and Dungeon Hunter, I'll probably check into those soon

Question though, how is Super Monkey Ball? I've heard the controls are iffy, but if they are managable I'm sure I'd get a lot of play time out of it
