Well i installed 2.0 its great. I game I bought so far was monkeyball. Works well graphics are great, kinda lame that the monkey in the ball is 2D sprite. Controls better than I thought but it takes some getting used to. Its sort like finding your center of balance. I will probably grab one more game, maybe a racing game or a puzzle.

The apps are cool, lots of them. I only installed free ones at this point. Downloaded AIM, its what you would expect but since the push thing isnt ready yet i dont see myself using it. My favorite app? Pandora radio, holy shit that one surprised me. If you have an account already it logs in and gives you access to all you radio stations. Amazing. Shazam is a cool app too. You hold it up to whatever song is playing on tv, radio etc and it tells you what it is... even gives you a link to itunes if you can buy it.

By the way, the leaked firmware on the net right now is safe thats what I used to upgrade. Just backup you shit cause it needs to erase everything when you update.

I'm d/ling 2.0 now - how do you install it once it's d/l'd?

Plug your iPhone in, and hold down option while clicking the "check for updates" from the iPhone area of iTunes. That's the way to do it on a Mac, I'm not sure what button you hold on Windows.

I'm gonna go home after work and install tons of apps, that'll give me plenty to do while I'm waiting in line for the iPhone 3G. :)

Press the Option (Shift) key when pressing the "Check for Update" button in iTunes.
Then select the .ipsw file manually.

Something's weird then, because I just checked and I'm now on 7.7 (On a mac)
yeah, not sure what gives but keeps tilling me i have the current version.

scratch that....

it just started downloading.

so........i'm pretty sure this'll get me to buy a touch

but is there any word of touch prices going down after iphone 2.0 releases? or should i just buy it today?

Since I probably won't have my iPhone-3G until tomorrow, can anyone recommend if some these titles below are worth purchasing?

- Super Monkey Ball (already downloaded)
- Bejeweled 2
- Bomberman Touch
- Critter Crunch
- Zen: Pinball
- Bubble Bash
- Aqua Forest

Bejeweled 2 seems to be... well, Bejeweled. I've only ever played Bejeweled a handful of times, but afaik it's faithful, and it seemed to run just fine, and looked good.

Zen Pinball is fun, but the framerate is kind of rough. Playing their XBLA game at 60hz has spoiled me. I'm still glad I got it, though.

Cube Runner is free, and kind of fun. Seems meant to be played for a few minutes, here and there, which is perfect. And at $0, it's even cheaper than the Flashlight app. =p

Super Monkey Ball and Enigmo look really top quality. Dunno about Cro-mag Rally.. that game was hard enough to control on the iMac..

Come on your RPGs and action adventures!! We need an iPhone equivalent of Zelda and Mariooooo!

Super Monkey Ball is a bitch to control and I can't see the screen half the time I tilt my iPhone. :/

Maybe I need to just give the game some time.

Yeah i took a break and came back to it and got a good deal better. You really have to make subtle motions, I wasnt moving it gentle enough. Once you do that knee jerk reaction its over. Not sure I understand how to get to the next area. I beat the first 10 levels and it asked for my initials and opened up the hard option. Its hard enough on easy lol

Is it worth the price? I'm eager to get it just to have something play on my iPhone.

Seems like this might take a bite out of the PSP.

It's nice to have a lot of little games (plus everything else an iphone or touch can do) for download instead or the occasional interesting UMD game.

Lack of ram is the only negative.

Can you add SD ram cards to iphones or itouch?

Yeah, I think so. There is a whole bunch of levels and characters, it just takes time getting used to the controls. I am playing a lot better than I was earlier :lol

Excellent. I was kinda concerned on how the tilting the phone + keeping your eyes on the screen in order to perform well would work, but I'll take your word for it. I'll get it as soon as I get home.

Unfortunately, no.

Yeah the game is good, just know you will have a learning curve with the control. You will have some frustration till you get a handle on it. Less is more, Im still trying to not over tilt.

Wacky! That seems possibly too massive for a launch lineup, considering I'm an iPhone owner and I've heard of hardly any of these games, but if they're going more for an Amazon or Steam kind of thing rather than a proprietary platform kind of thing, I suppose it makes sense.

Wow, iPhone is starting to seem like one of those devices that every consumer needs to own like a PS3.

Thanks! It's from Bionic Commando for PS3. Hoping it'll be an awesome game.
This amuses me.

As they, or anyone else, should be. The content trickle on the online console marketplaces is ridiculous.

Yeah, I don't disagree at all. I'm just surprised there hasn't been more pre-release buzz about individual titles, considering Apple has generally been so proprietary about everything.

So they update iPhone software to 2.0 but don't let you use app store on the iTouch yet?

What the fuck Apple?
Perhaps it's something they'll charge an additional amount for. Similar to how they did with the last significant update.

this app store is fucking hott as hell. I haven't tried many games yet, only have monkey ball which looks great, but like others have said, is tough to control. I think it's safe to say that apple is officially in the hand held gaming business.

Don't iTouch users have to pay $9.99?

I thought the only people who could upgrade for free to use the app store were previous iPhone owners

Oh what the fuck? We have to pay 10 bucks to use a store?
