I got a question, Are games/apps purchased tied to my account or my iPod Touch?

Also, Any other games that are on special that I should pick up? Is there a limit to how many times I can download a purchased App/Game?

Purchases are tied to your Apple account. Applications can be loaded onto any machine you've given an authorization to - my wife and I share our apps.

There is no limit to the number of times you can redownload apps, but there's no indication within the store which apps you have bought.
 
Slightly OT but BT now sell iphones on pay as you go deals in the UK but the phone costs about £399! I been checking out iPod touch also but even they are £200+ for a worthwhile storage model.

I really want to play some of these games and my old mobile is broken, only problem is the damn UK cost for the iphone.

Yes, it... sucks. The buyer's remorse is unbearable! I just have to remember that it's fifty cents cheaper than the ticket I paid for to see Never Back Down.
 
I broke my iTunes Store virginity... Star Trigon is mine. And fucking lovely it is too.
Been wanting my own copy of this game for the past few years and at last I have one.
 
MotionX Poker is SO GOOD.
I was wary as I'm not that big on poker in general, but the dice mechanic, the unlockables, the achievements, the stat tracking.

Maybe this was mentioned many pages ago, but I haven't seen people talk about it recently. 21 Pro is excellent. I took interest in this app after watching the blackjack movie 21 on BluRay recently. This app is a great version of blackjack, and it even counts cards for you, so you don't have to be an MIT math wiz to reap the benefits.

I also downloaded Line Rider, 2 Across, Galcon, and Labyrinth recently, but all I've been playing is 21 Pro. The dealer tips are great, and it comes with the Basic Strategy chart of recommended moves, so it's improving my play in general.
 
I've taken a photo of the display by holding the home button and pressing the power button, nice feature.
Now please tell a fool how I get that off my Touch and on to my PC. :D

Connect to computer.

My Computer > Camera > iPhone
and find pic like a regular digicam

Or you can email it to yourself.

Bolded bit doesn't work, it's a 32gb iTouch, i'll need to try setting up my email accounts then.

You guys say that games are tied to my Apple account. If I lose the file for the game, is it possible for me to redownload it?

Oh, and GALCON IS AWESOME. I like it much, much more than Star Trigon, personally. It's such a perfect blend of speed and strategy.

You can also backup all your apps manually. That's what I did with Tris (Tetris Clone) and now Breakclassic Lite because it was taken down from the App Store. When I brought home my 2G 16GB Touch I just dragged the file into the applications tab and it installed fine.
 
TouchArcade is reporting that Atari have started asking developers of Breakout clones to remove their apps from the Store. This includes BreakClassic.

First THQ with PhoneSaber, then EA with Tris...
 
Okay, I'm new to this (just got a new touch), but I can't figure out how to make the app syncing between Itunes & my touch get along. Originally I had just got a bunch of stuff right on my touch, then I got some stuff from the app store in itunes. I tried to sync, and I got errors. The icons were all there on my touch, but I just got kicked back to the main screen after I tried launching them.

Restart your touch.
Helps in most cases.

*supposedly* 2.1 firmware fixes this but i will believe it when i see it.

if a simple hard reboot doesnt work, delete the app in question (press and hold the icon, then tap the X) and re-sync it. after re-sync'ing, reboot the device THEN start the app.

2.1 is a HUGE improvement. Doing app installs/updates OTA is much faster, the icons stay in their original position, a lot fewer crashes . . . if you haven't updated, it's well worth the time.

When you plugin you iPod Touch click on it and then on the Applications tab and make sure the sync all apps box is checked.




Also, The latest version of Palringo Messenger is pretty sweet.
 
i just got an iphone! yes! i got motion x poker for AU$1.19, best phone game ever! there are too many pages for me to trawl through, so are there any suggestions for free apps? doesn't even have to be games, just anything useful, but mostly games :D
 
Newtonica is pretty cool, the music is ok but its only one tune. I don't know if it changes over time but I haven't gotten very far yet :-)

I bought RoS this morning but haven't had time to try it yet.

At first glance, it is an unpolished Fire Emblem.

We'll see.

Reign of Sword is pretty fun!
I've only played the training missions, but I think it's a solid western (art-style) take on the Fire Emblem series, and looks to be just as good/deep. I like the fact that there are no j-pop looking stars in the game. Menus are a little clumsy in the sense you have to double tap everything... but I suppose that helps cut down on mistakes.

And X-Plane v.9.01 is out, 25% frame rate improvement!
Oh and Trism is on sale, $3 bucks only!

With so much games and apps and the whole internet on my iPhone, I don't think it's possible to be ever bored again!
 
Downloaded Galcon Lite and am thinking of buying the full version. However, I'm curious - the Lite version just offers "Classic." Does the full version come with a different/more updated mode?
 
Reign of Swords officially rocks.

Kinda crappy art, but you get used to it and eventually learn to like it (!).

Gameplay is 100% Fire Emblem. That's all you need to know. Units carry over from battle to battle (so don't let them die) and they're upgradable. Formations, flanking, etc. are all a part of the strategy and there's a healthy number of different units.

Game seems to be fairly long too (in singleplayer). Haven't tried multiplayer at all.

I easily lost 2-3 hours on this game last night and I haven't been into an iPhone game since... shit, I just realized I'm not a huge fan of iPhone gaming. But this is definitely a solid and "real" SRPG on your phone.
 
Looks like the reasoning behind Atari's take down notices has been revealed:

Super Breakout

Missile Command

They are each $4.99 and made by some offshoot company of Foundation 9 Entertainment for Atari. Super Breakout didn't really impress me at all, but I am really digging Missile Command.. In this version you just just touch were you want the missile to shoot and it auto selects the turrets and fires.

The full version has Classic mode with difficulties going WAY WAY WAY harder than in the Lite - goes up to Level 10:Grand Admiral. As well, there are these modes:

Stealth: Don't see enemy ships
Vacuum: No enemy, have to take over entire galaxy in a time limit
Beast: Enemy starts with a few ships on lots of planets, waits a bit before attacking
3-Way: Two enemies, true 3 on 3 - 1 enemy sometimes sides with you, sometimes with the other enemy
Net Game: True internet multiplayer, up to four players
