So I did a quick run through with AI because I'm not going to be around for most of the night to shoot up zombies.

It's definitely more open but I didn't feel aimless going through it. A lot of cars and car alarms.

So after millions of tries I got about 99% before it got "busy" again, and now it's just "This game is unavailable". *sigh*

So...I gotta wait until about midnight to play this, but I can't wait...what's the theme of Crash Course? We had the hospital, airport, small town and farm and I'm curious to see where this one is set.

Having played versus a few times now I think what Crash Course is missing for me personally is a memorable location or set-piece, perhaps with the exception of the finale. It's a little bland and samey. Also is it just me or are there tons of molotovs and pipe bombs and weapon stashes everywhere?

If you're playing on 360, that'll be because the lobby leader is the host and there's no host migration. This is probably because there aren't enough dedicated servers to go around.

Played it for about 2 hours so far in both campaign and Versus. It's excellent. I nabbed a few of the new Achievements including wiping out 3 Survivors within 5 seconds. Tank punches car...four enemies get annihilated immediately :D

Gotta represent the clan. I was on XBOX.com so I sent you a request, it'll be several hours until I get out of work and get started with L4D but if I see you on I'll join up. Any other 360 gaffers playing this should do the same, I don't want to play this with randoms who let fuckin smokers drag me away and do nothing about it.

Belgium here. Updating, sort of. After a few %, it went back to "Download starting"
Might want to try resetting the download region, mine was set to UK before I reset it to Benelux and actually got somewhere.

Resetting the download location worked, it was set to UK, now to Spain & Portugal.

Updating .. 6% ... 6% ............. 6% ... Ok, I'm not playing tonight :(

Just completed Crash Course with a few randoms and eh, it's alright. It'll be good for those times when you can't play one of the regular campaigns but there's something, I don't know, kind of slap dash about it, Crash Course kind of feels like a work-in-progress custom map.

Hearing all this makes me so glad that I bought it/downloaded it before I came in to work when it was still going fast. It seriously took me all of 2 mins to download it.

I was also lucky enough to get on after they bumped the price down! best of both worlds.

And yes..... they gave us the last update for free so I guess they figured they would make us pay for something.

We get user campaigns and free dlc, nana-nana-na-na! *cough*

Just about everyone charges for everything on Xbox Live, but as far as I'm concered Valve gets a free pass since they somehow managed to give us the last content pack for free by putting it in patch. They're only charging for this one because Microsoft is making them do it.

Just got done with a quick play (died on the finale about trying to restart the effin generator) with AI. Fun still, I might play tonight if my internet in my room is willing.

What's the theory on lack of servers? Is it because the servers aren't patched? Almost everyone playing is doing it locally. Openserverbrowser shows 47 servers and they're all playing DeadAir.

so i just went to load L4D on my other computer and account so me and the bro could coop the game, and wtf there's no l4d listed in "my games." No option to download it, it just doesn't exist. To clarify, this is a seperate account from my main steam account, and has had a retail copy of L4D registered to it. Steam support answers put it down to user error rather than any issues with their network.

Any help would be appreciated.

[edit]Nevermind steam was being a complete piece of shit and has deigned to allow me to see my games again.

Sorted.

Fish was our secret weapon. He worked so very well.

Also, you should give it a try with your CEVO settings turned off for once. See how the same-place pill/medkit spawns work for you.

lol dedicated servers are kinda screwy now. i see if you can't find a server in lobby it forces you to host locally w/o telling you. thats why my first vs match was so shitty :lol

Map was fun and escape vehicle was amazing :lol Though I had no idea it was only 2 chapters long. Definitely like the first map the most, although I was dead most of the time in the second map :lol

Just ran through it with bots. I wasn't very impressed overall, but it looks like it might be hilarious in versus - if the survivors don't get that many throwables/flamables as I got =p
Oh well, at least I finally managed to get the no witch disturbing achievement (no duckroll to shoot her this time, y'see)

To see if it's too hard for the infected with them (which is probably the case). And if it's too hard for the infected, then I just thought that a config that only disabled medkits would be interesting.

The reason being, if both sides get pills, pipes, and molotovs in the same location now, it should be a more even experience, with the infected team who starts first getting the advantage as before. The other CEVO feature I would suggest disabling is the forced team-alternating, since I just felt like having the losing team always start first might work well with the new slightly more balanced item placement.

It's just an idea to test the balance of everything, since stuff just got changed. :)
