I've only played one round so far on normal, and while excellent, it was no where near challenging enough. I need to play a round tonight on expert and see if that one is as difficult as I'm looking for.

Yeah, it's dedicated. It even tells you at the beginning when you're loading the crew from the lobby that it's searching for a dedicated server to join. Guess they were having issues.

Anyway, that pretty much why Vyse started attacking you at the end in the safe room. :lol

Honestly I think they should call normal easy and advanced normal then have another setting for advanced. The jump between Advanced and Expert is a bit to huge IMO.

No idea, I joined a quick 360 game. I think it must have been pretty low because at one point i turned around to see around 30 enemies just clawing at me and i barely took a bit of damage.

Really, Gears 2 horde mode does everything L4D does but much better and its not even a main mode.

:lol :lol hell no, gears 2 horde mode is awesome but doesnt compare to L4d, gears 2 doesnt spawn random health, ammo, weapons and the "boss" bots in gears 2 doesnt give nearly the high tension you feel from a witch or a tank or even a hunter.

It really doesn't matter. I've gone full tilt with my teammates and just rushed through both levels without losing anyone at all, which is enjoyable, but alarming in that it actually worked. I've also done the hardcore commando thing, making sure everything is covered and double covered and planning each move and all that jazz, and it makes the game snooze-worthy.

I don't know, I actually think the game is difficult so long as you buy into the idea that the game is difficult. If you are overly cautious it seems to spawn more shit on top of you. I've literally just ran through the sewers and told my team to stay with me and a minute later we were at the ammo dump sitting peachy.

Yeah, that's pretty much how it works. The more cautious you are, the more things the Director sends at you. More swarming hordes and particularly more higher level enemies. It's a whole lot easier if you just try to get to the end as soon as possible, but where's the fun in that?

third person perspective is command: thirdpersonshoulder. Think you might have to enable sv_cheats 1 beforehand, but give it a try without cheats on.

For server list, enable your console in the options > open up console > command: openserverbrowser. The list of servers is in the Custom tab.

I need someone to talk me down from not liking this game. I think it's the crappy demo's fault, but can't be sure.

I'll start at the top... The guns suck ass. There's 5 in the demo, 2-5 more if you count other shit you can use. The game has 20 total? I can't imagine what they can put in to make the gunplay satisfying. The SMG is horrible, the sniper rifle baffling. The shotguns are merely alright. They don't have an ounce of oomph though.

The game is too fucking easy. Getting knocked down extending your HP bar is the most ridiculous thing ever. It's also boring, all you can do is shoot a bunch of zombies with your pistol. And the sounds give away bosses waaaaaaaaaay too much. Being able to hear them and knowing the map well enough makes them incredibly trivial. Fuck, that's half the reason I like tanks. Although maybe I never heard their tell because they are so rare.

Also the zombies just suck in general. They aren't the least bit dangerous, and killing them feels more like a chore than a game. Were the 5 boss monsters confirmed to be all she wrote?

I dont know how playing on expert this game can come across as easy but like others have said if expert is too easy for you you should probably not get the game then.

Also if expert is easy are you an MLG pro? Seriosuly

Hey - I know this is a little OT for this thread. Snake, my 360 did this exact same thing last week. DVD drive wouldn't close. I would put a disc in, the thing would close, and then pop right back open. Anyway, I fixed this manually in 5 minutes with some super glue. Look up my most recent posts in the RROD thread if you fancy trying to fix it yourself.

I'm excited the demo is being released for everyone today, my roommates will finally be able to join in on the fun. I'm having a blast with L4D so far! Too bad WotLK comes out Thursday.

Make sure the server is set to Expert. Didn't know this happens until last night but, even though you set up your lobby for Expert, when you join the server it could be on any level difficulty. Just cast a vote to change it over.
