Its made by valve, so it's guaranteed to have an active fanbase for at least half a year.

If Valve releases movies on the 360 and markets them well, I see no reason why this can't keep going well into '09. It's Microsoft that's the kicker.

The thing is, it's an awesome game and it going to sell most through word-of-mouth. It needs people like you on the 360 buying it, evangelising it and passing it along. Seriously, buy it and play it, you'll be hooked and you'll make the community that little bit bigger.

if you love replay value then you'll love the way L4D handles the AI. If you don't already know this, the game will smartly change were enemies and items spawn everytime you play it. This keeps you on your toes because you can't just trial and error it like most other games

This guy started right when the game started. He was on the other team, and the game was on all-chat. Just immediately started on it, and would not stop for the ENTIRE GAME. He did move on briefly to slurs about Mexicans as illegal immigrants and then joking about women and women's rights.

Mostly the guy focused on Louis though, taking audible joy when Louis was burning, singing songs with lyrics about the KKK, and then in the last level gave a very detailed description about raping an extended family of black people, with some seriously disturbing detail in there.

Just a complete and utter moron. He asked if anybody was playing was black, and I said, "yeah." He assumed it was me (there was a black person playing, but not me). He stayed on the racist talk after that. I proceeded to kick his ass constantly all game, only pulling him out of windows as a smoker, pouncing on only him, etc. He never made it past halfway in any level :lol


To the guy that asked if i recorded a demo: i tried, but Fraps and my "RealTek audio" or whatever do not play nicely. It kept only recording my mic, or silence, or whatever. A huge shame.

Played my first solid block of online on the weekend. So awesome! Was playing with a buddy, and then when he had to leave I ran through teams of dickwads till I found these two awesome dudes, good players, had each others back, didn't run off on their own all the time etc. Selfish gameplay really sticks out in this game.

Whats with dudes just starting to lay into you with bullets who are on yr team though? Had that a few times, guys who were cool then just open up on the team. cocks.

Playing as the Horde is huuuugely fun! Not fond of being a Smoker though..

i didnt like smoker at first either, but i was having a lot of fun with him last night.

playing infected is still dificult for me, but the more i play the better it gets. i just hate being a tank and not being able to do any damage because the survivors are all spread out and running circles around you. frustrating.

Yeah. The Hunter is the most immediately gratifying. I think being a smoker around a tank is good, as people tend to scatter and panic a little bit, but I was playing with good players who stuck together, so that makes the life of a smoker a tricky one indeed.

I found it weird that you can play any game in any order straight from the beginning. I was looking forward to progressing through the campaign online in one long story broken up into chapters. Am I missing something?

Played it 6 hours with my cousin and some friends,probably the most fun I've had all year with a multilayer game besides halo 3. This game is amazingly fun and just a joy to play and have fun with friends! Valve, you are the shit. I just wish my PC could run this, the custom maps for this will be awesome I'm sure. I hope the DLC is free for 360, seeing how EA lets Criterion support BP, and as far as I know EA has no say for Valve games right! If MS lets EA/Criterion way not Vavle

On the opening of Dead Air, you can get stuck on the forward left corner (when heading towards the door), and you CAN'T get off of it. It sucks.

This game needs a patching pretty badly.

As amazing as the game is (and trust me, it's my GOTY), there are a few game breaking bugs and a couple game breaking oversights that the can be exploited upon command, nevermind the actual console hacking going on.

• Spawning on people that are hanging off a ledge is broken.
• You can jump down from really really high places and insta-kill people with a hunter.
• I know tanks are more or less spawned based on a calculation and not a predetermination, but if one team gets one, it only seems fair that the other should get one as well.
• You can knock things around as the tank, sometimes blocking the survivors paths indefinitely.
• I've read about people finding ways to avoid aspects of the finale all together.

There are only some things that you can intentionally exploit, but they can stop the game dead in it's tracks (make it unbeatable for the survivors) or ruin the game completely (console hacking).

Patch this game ASAP Valve. Your amazing game needs your attention.

Really? Someone claimed the pounce damage maxed out at 25, and when I managed to hit someone from a rooftop in no mercy (which is hard to do), I only did like 15 damage.

Side note, I also saw someone saying that the longer you pounced as a hunter the more damage you'd do, but I don't know of any evidence for that.

The only really cheap strategy I see often in No Mercy in the finale is the entire team hiding under the stairs next to the helicopter pad. It is impossible to hit them if they all keep beating. Your only hope is that when the Tank spawns, you can knock some of them off the building. Other than that, your SOL as Infected.

I tried that with a group trying to finish no mercy campaign once, on expert or something. We got barfed and attacked constantly, and were trying to finish off the horde, when the tank shows up at the entrance to the area stairs. We all died.

So I played No Mercy on Expert with some friends on 360. We finally made it to the finale, and played that part alone for 2hrs. We decided enough was enough and split.

Man this game on Expert is so damn cheap it's ridiculous. :lol

(Yes I tried the Ledge glitch on No Mercy's finale, but the Tank managed to jump up to our ledge everytime we tried it.)

Just had an epic 3 hour match getting through Blood Harvest.
Hiding out on the house, in the upstairs bedroom, 2 guarding the door and 2 the window.
Once the tank arrives, we bolt to the roof/ground level and take that mofo down.
Run back to the room and repeat.
By the time the 3rd tank arrives, we're pretty much down to our final health and just trying to survive until the army truck comes. I see it coming and a horde of zombies running after us. Francis runs to the truck and our other guy is pinned down. I run to help the guy, but see the tank coming. I peaced the eff out. :lol

Run back to the army truck and see Francis getting pinned down right on the the ramp by a hunter / zombies. I try to help, but as soon as I step in the truck, it takes off. I become the lone survivor. :lol :lol

Thanks to whomever I played with tonight. Neogaf > random XBL people.
