HxH

I haven't liked a chapter of HxH since Greed Island. I hate this fucking arc and I don't even know who any of these hero characters are anymore since the breaks were long and I never cared about them in the first place since the arc sucked.

That being said I really liked this chapter because it was about Gon (hey remember him? I do!) being developed really interestingly and Pitouh's reaction was great. Maybe there will be some actual payoff in this arc for all the crap I've put up with.

Well I don't hate the arc as much as you, I've found it really boring and a huge drop in quality after GI. Like you, I loved this chapter. It seems like even the arc haters thought this was a great chapter. I really hope Gon actually fights though or all those badass looks would've been for nothing.

I don't get the Hitsuguya stabbing Aizen hate, maybe it's because I'm winging it and have only read the last 10+ chapters since the SS arc, but didn't we see Tousen getting stabbed in the head by his ex vice captain/lietennant guy, people were predicting Aizen getting downed by Hinamori at that point. :lol

As someone who caught up over the span of a few weeks, I'd say the Ant Arc plays a little bit better when you don't have to wait months between chapters. I do still like Greed Island more, but all the new characters and ideas introduced are more familiar to me as a result.

Okay, now that Danzo's dead, what was the whole point of mentioning Kabuto and hunting/following Anko? With Danzo dead, Kabuto isn't needed and Root no longer have any reason to keep an eye on Anko. Wouldn't it have been more interesting if Danzo actually lived, meets Kabuto to fix his arm and eye and run Konoha as Hokage for a while instead of being a sacrifical lamb to power up Sasuke even more?

I hate it when Kishi introduce these potentially awesome plot elements and never develop them further. He has a bad habit of doing that.

Edit: And why does it feel like the villains are the underdogs at this point? Shouldn't it be the exact opposite this late into the story?

Sasuke's a villain so no, they are not underdogs :lol

Sasuke vs the entire ninja world? I know Kishi will add more sharigan bs later but even that must have a limit. Seriously, there's only Sasuke and Madara, who apparently only useful as a vaccum/ringside announcer.

I forgot the poster who mentioned it in this thread, but wouldn't Sai's seal disappear now that Danzou's dead? What was he hiding? Maybe Danzou was planning to die right from the start.

The guy is a genius, but needs assistants and discipline!
This week's chapter alone had fucking awesome art. I love the pissed off expressions he makes. So serious.

what the fuck, I just finished Greed Island, Fucking Fantastic by the way, but what the hell happened to the art around the end of Green Island and currently where I am right now ( chapter 180 ) it's just fucking sketches, does he have any assistants or does his wife help him out ( Mangaka of Sailor moon )?

Makes sense. Though honestly I didn't even find GI to be that great. It was just "ok" to me and where I began losing interest in the manga. Loved the opening arc and thought the Ryodan arc was totally fantastic and the high point of the manga. Then it started turning into something else. Less focused on the lead 2-3 characters and more on plot and fights and group ensemble and new characters that I didn't care for and now I just read it because it only takes 5 mins every once and a while and I'm curious if it'll ever return to a story about Gon/Killua/Hisoka/etc...the main important characters of the manga.

Agreed...GI was a bit of a geeky cliche, but the Yorkshin City arc was fantastic... I can't believe he ditched the phantom brigade (for the time being) for the ants...interesting concept, but they come across as incredible cheap

OP was awesome this weak...Akainu and Ace's interaction was excellently done...intense!!

How do you find the strength to go on?

Seriously though, the only realy problem with HxH is the slow pace at which the chapters come out.

The artwork is fixed in the volume releases.

HxH is pretty complex for a shounen, just read the previous volume again if you've forgotten what was going on.

Actually feels kinda forced to me. I'm up to chapter 10 or so so hopefully that'll change in a bit.

I thought it was implied that all of Root have this seal, and it's just to cover up the questionable methods the organization and Danzo uses to "protect the country".

If the seal goes off, I'd guess the crucial info Sai would be able to say, is that Danzo had his eyes on Naruto, and maybe something about his arm and relations with Orochimaru.

Then the Team 7 would go "Danzo was a bad guy, news at 11"

Does anyone know if this is gonna be translated soon into a language other than French? My Japanese and French are still not good enough to enjoy this. I do like wine quite a bit and I also enjoyed a similiar manga series regarding classical music (Nodame Cantabile). I think the chances should be quite high to get a decent translation?

That series looks awesome. And funny you mention Nodame Cantabile, as I literally just finished watching that one (the anime) yesterday.

Don't bet on it. The series does its best to shit on Ganta at every possible moment.

Yeah, I can understand that. The length of this arc, combined with the massive breaks in-between, make it seem like some characters haven't been shown in forever. Leorio and Kurapika both more or less disappeared after Yorkshin. Of course, one never really developed fighting skills, and the other dedicated all of his to a specific group of people.

I do sometimes wish he went in a different direction. Self-contained, this arc isn't all that bad. I was surprised to care about some of the new characters as much as I do. But in so many ways, it also doesn't seem to jive with the overall narrative.

It's kind of like HxH's Skypiea. Feels like a big, long, if occasionally fun, tangent.

Bakuman:

Great chapter, excluding the romance plot line as usual but luckily it was very brief/in the background. The reactions to Eiji having two mangas running was great ( :lol @ someone suggesting they ask Oda to do another series). Eiji telling the others to "improve their mangas and beat him" was great and it was nice to see him get serious. I thought Aiko's portion of the meeting was a bit rushed though and they could have confronted her a bit more about her attitude, or at least had Aoki speak to her a bit. Too bad next week looks like it will focus on Shujin getting married vs improving their story.

One Piece:

Well at least Oda gave us an answer to how Ace and Akainu's powers affect each other. I'm guessing Ace could probably overcome this weakness though similar to how Luffy increased his abilities. Definitely enjoyed Akainu's speech, and the ending was a nice twist.

Claymore:

I'm a bit surprised Priscilla had no reaction to Claire and co talking about Raki. I was hoping Claire would finally find out where Raki was/what he's been doing. Guess it'll have to wait until Claire and friends take down the organization/try to rescue Raki. I'm disappointed Priscilla came there for Claire and not the merged sisters, even though the way Priscilla has been beating everyone I'm just hoping the sisters will provide a challenge if they do end up fighting.

Hunter X Hunter:

It was great seeing Gon again, especially his intensity. I still don't care for this arc/want it to end soon but Gon definitely made things interesting again. I can't wait to see him back in action.

Gantz:

Seeing everyone respect Kurono out of fear is a nice touch but it would have been better if the people he were saving had some "positive" aspects. Throughout the manga, the author made Kurono's class mates and most of the people outside of the Gantz game look so bad that I really don't care if Kurono saves most of them or they all get massacred. It'll be funny to see how quickly the respect fades once other Gantz players show up to help ( especially if it's the second Kurono :lol ).

Vagabond:

I know we still have a ways to go before the confrontation between Kojiro and Musashi but I'm glad things are at least moving in the right direction. I'm sure Musashi will be healed up enough by then, if the people who want Musashi to become an instructor don't snatch him up first.

Kekkaishi:

I wasn't expecting a major story change/shift but I'm interested in seeing where Yoshimori and his mother are headed and the route the story will go now. I'm hoping we'll at least get progress updates on Masamori and the other supporting characters.

Psyren:

I was hoping Amamiya's split personality would stick around a bit longer than she did. But now knowing the reason for the split personality I'm assuming Amamiya will one day "merge" with her to get her other emotions back (especially her love for Ageha). I can't say I care too much about the fight coming up anymore. This guy doesn't seem like he will keep Ageha occupied for very long.

Fairy Tail:

Like I said last chapter, I really don't care for "alternate world" stories. But I did like seeing Wendy's alternate form, mainly because she was an adult. I'm assuming this alternate Wendy being much older is because she isn't a Dragon Slayer in this world. Now I'm actually interested in seeing Natsu's alternate form (although the way Lucy reacted to Dragon Slayer Natsu, I'm guessing he can't be all that different).

Beelzebub:

Very disappointing ending to this arc even though there were a couple of laughs. I was hoping we'd at least find out more about the guy who came to save Oga and the others. The new "class" Oga ended up in seems like it could be interesting. I'm not expecting much in the way of action since they are all people Oga beat/defeated but at the very least it should be funny.

Hajime No Ippo:

It's sad seeing Ippo having to resort to going all out just to "tap" Woli this far along into the manga. I wonder how much more pathetic the author will make Ippo in this fight before he actually makes some sort of comeback (if he does, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if Ippo lost).

One Piece is way too good. The ending was simply epic and I can't wait for next chapter.
Bleach and Naruto.. well.. boring again.

OP really needs to get on with it already. It's like the manga equivalent of some japanese wrestling deathmatch. They break out the barbed wire, the nailbeds, the tube lights, the bats, the exploding c4, and the fire, and there's just no way to try and force the bar any higher.

Anyway, here's my take on S-aizen, marvel at my lack of skill:

HxH - This arc's not THAT bad. I mean, yeah, it's not as great as the previous arcs, but it's by no means bad. It's just that the author set a very high standard for himself. If you don't remember anything, just go skim the previous chapters.

Funny thing is i like this arc more than greed island arc, and i like that arc too really the only problem is the constant breaks.

Also all of you guys suffering through Bleach and Sharingan Chronicles need to Read HxH and Psyren at least.

One Piece

Besides all the usual "good speech Akainu" props & holy shit Ace comments, I gotta say I really loved Oda's art in this chapter a lot. The last panel was extremely well done. I also got a good laugh out of this all because my sister who I recently introduced to OP was all "FUCK YEAH ACE IS SAVED!" last chapter only to call me from her campus and go "fucking Oda" out of the blue. :lol

Bleach

Holy shit, a Katen Kyototsu to Sakanade combination. If Aizen didn't appear unnerved to something as insanely broken as that, he really would deserve the namesake "Captain Godmode".
It would have been 100 times funnier to me if Shinji actually didn't do shit more than give Aizen a troll face causing him to fuck himself up thinking Shinji reversed shit. :lol

I've lost faith in a manga I've read for years and years, because of this stupid Woli/Mowgli shenanigans.

EDIT: As for HxH, I dont want to give her my heart again, she always walks out on me :(

I decided to read it, its pretty good IMO, and yeah he does get screwed over alot. He seems to get used to it though so it isn't that bad.

At least its not like the beginning of Zetman with that retarded "game" the rich guy was put through...

Answer right: Everybody dies
Answer wrong: Everybody dies
Try to save everybody: Everybody dies
Try not to save everybody: Everybody dies
Stay still: Everybody dies
Blink: Everybody dies

all in the name of justice :lol

I stopped reading it because of how insanely far they push for shock value.

Once again FMA spoilers and then the chapter will be out. For you new people this is very important:

SPOILER TAG EVERYTHING YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THE SPOILERS OR NEW CHAPTER, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SPOILER TAG THAT SHIT OR YOU WILL START PAGES OF ANGER!
