I hate it how Clark always "loses his powers" like it's some kind of magic stuff. Doesn't he have his powers because of the yellow sun, in other words, he's genetically different from us and because of that he has those powers? So it's not something you could just switch on/off or take away like that. The Kryptonite makes 'some' sense, since it's from his home planet and it has turned into some kind of 'radioactive' stone for him, but all the stuff like him being hit by lightning and that way transferring his "powers" to someone else and stuff, that's just bullshit.

yeah, the constant losing of powers is lame. and this time it wasn't really explained and a trip to the sun magically brought them back. uhhhhhh, ok.

and i'm fucking sick to the pandering to the audience with the lame little foreshadows. "pretty soon you'll be wearing a costume and have dual identities like us hur hur hur hur".

we get it. the fucking guy becomes Superman.

To be a little fair, at least in some instances, kryptonite was involved with the "electric transformation".

There was a time when if nothing else, Smallville could be counted on for great season premieres and finales. In the past 2 seasons, they've lost the ability to deliver on the finale end of things, and sadly, this was the first time Ive ever hated a premiere, too. So mediocre, not a single standout thing about it. Having the Justice League of Shitty Actors being around lots this year doesnt exactly raise my hopes up, either.

Also, I was thinking, and has anyone else realized that pretty much every season since S3 had ended the excat same way? Clark missing/trapped/whatever?

I actually like the actors chosen to play the Justice League. If you are hoping for grade A movie quality productions then you're not going to find that in a television series. With the budget, I think they have done an excellent job with the characters and costumes.

As for the season premiere, I thought it was decent. I would rate it maybe an 8/10. It wasn't perfect but the quality did deliver over a lot of other episodes in the show and I think it represents a strong introduction to season 8.

Anyways, new trailer for "Plastique" released:

Also an interview with the actor who plays Green Arrow and a small clip for episode 3 "Toxic":

Anyone have a link to a good summary of the series so far? I was a casual viewer for the first couple of seasons, but broke off around season 4. Figure I may give it a shot.

Admittedly I'm pretty sorry to hear Kristin Kreuk and Michael Rosenbaum are gone. Kristen is certainly easy on the eyes, and I've always found Michael to be a bright spot in terms of acting (I'm expecting some good things from him in the future).

I pretty much had stopped watching at all from season 3 on, and recently started in on season 7.

Season 7 has been pretty good. Too much over reliance on the Lana Clark relationship, but I like the way it's setting up season 8.

I saw the first episode of that and I really like the addition of the Justice League and Green Arrow becoming a part of the cast.

Season 8 is looking good.

I love how they can't even get the cast together for a photo. Tom Welling is photoshopped into that picture for sure (Ive seen this picture of him several times before), and Im sure hes not the only one.

Did they really need to all be there for what was going to be a bluescreen picture anyways?

I enjoyed the premiere. It's camp, but hell, it's Superman. I think if it stays this course we could be in for some interesting things....or they can do the normal Smallville thing where everything that occured beforehand is magically forgotten in the next episode.

What a coincidence that the barrels of flammable liquid was there. :lol

Good episode so far though. Nice to see Clark actively trying to solve something/help someone for once. Took them 8 seasons.

Did they change the writers for the series for this season? The banter between characters seemed to have improved quite a bit.

This isn't really season 8 discussion, but who else is really disappointed with Black Canary? She should be sooo much hotter. Where's the long hair and cleavage?!

BTW: Davis Bloome :p

It's a pretty girl, but the short hair doesn't suit her. Longer would've made her prettier. As for the cleavage, that is always exaggerated in comics.

Too bad she always has short hair.

the day he becomes Superman is the day the series ends.

So end it already. Doesn't make sense to have Clark Kent at the Daily Bugle, playing super hero without being superman. It's metropolis now. What's the point?

An hour long flashback of Aquaman and Tess, mostly just to force us to believe that the new character has "history" in the show's world? Meh, boring.

Yeah didn't really like this one that much. Nice too know how Oliver became the man he is today, but shouldn't have taken the whole ep.

yo that Davis Bloome guy looks terribly familiar.... Can't put my finger on it.

And wound up dying in Battlestar Galactica pretty quickly.

The guy's got a...neat look about him, for whatever sense that makes coming from a straight man. I'm glad to see him in more stuff, especially on one of my guilty pleasure shows.

But the show is hardly following the comics at all, so that doesn't really matter. And she said he wants to work at the Daily Planet so he can be closer to the action as soon as it happens so he can help out.

You mean Green Arrow, right? :p

He had a line or two in the episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia where the Charlie, Mac and Dennis are handing out the bicep flyers that look like a penis. I'm pretty sure that was him.

Anyway, that episode rocked. I love GA.

Besides BSG, Always Sunny, and the Star Wars game, Davis was also in Stephen King's movie "The Mist".

I just watched the episode on my DVR and it was awesome btw. Definitely an ominous foreshadowing of things to come. I swear this episode must have been the tightest blouse contest between Tess and Lois and we were all winners.

Heh. I kind of anticipated that reply. That's what I usually do, but for some reason they took like 4 hours last week. And when they finally got it up, the video repeated at one point so a few scenes were missing. I didn't end up watching it until after 12 once they fixed it and then I was too tired to get up for class the next day :(
