How do you
pull the fuckin' Star Destroyer down?!

He's very near but I place him exactly where the analog movements tell me to but it won't go yellow/green to pull it down!

Alright, I didn't do exactly what the analog on-screen told me to. Weird.

Picked the game up today at Toysrus. (PS3 version) The sound is amazing, with lots of bass.

I got a question. I just finished the Tie fighter factory and I didn't fight the Atst like in the demo. Did I somehow miss it or was that encounter for the demo only?

Yeah, they're really missing out. After the prequels, I guess it's cool to shit on all things Star Wars (unless it's ESB or KotOR).

Just finished it.

Goddamn, Sam Witwer would've been the PERFECT Anakin Skywalker.

Anyway, personally, I didn't buy into the "new trilogy", so to me, they aren't canon. Going through this game, I saw the story as if the prequels didn't exist and it was much better than I though.

Luke is not the most powerful jedi in history

Actually, he is, confirmed by Lucas several times, most powerful sith:Sidious. Most powerful Jedi: Luke Skywalker.
Luke is what Anakin Skywalker was supposed to become, they both had the same potential(highest ever, and Leia too but she was never as serious about the jedi-stuff as her brother.), the only difference is that Anakin failed as jedi where as Luke succeeded.

Jedi Academy?

That would be awesome, except i would want to play as Luke and not Kyle.
With this engine they could create an awesome game, they would ofcourse have to implement a whole new lightsaber-gameplay style, since this is one of the dullest things about the force unleashed. In the EU Luke learned and masters all 7 styles of lightsaber-combat so it would be cool if they flesh it out and give you the choice as to how you want to fight and what style.

Haven't been able to confirm these as of yet, but feel free to try 'em out.

Using these might mess up gaining achievements.Input these in input code tab in the pause menu.
MANDALORE: General Rahm Kota
WOOKIEE: Kento's Robe
DANTOOINE: Ceremonial Jedi Robes
KORRIBAN: Sith Stalker Armor
HOLOCRON: Sith Robes
MARAJADE: New combo
LIGHTSABER: Amplified damage
KATARN: Increase force powers to maximum level
SITHLORD - Get Darth Vader
JEDIMASTER - Get Mace Windu

I think some of these are for the Wii/PS2 version, they have multiplayer where you play as different characters.

Do you get to play as the cyborg Starkiller?
Serious answer to serious spoiler.
Yes, it's a costume if you finish the darkside ending. Also, finishing the lightside ending gives you some crazy heavy looking lightside robes

Hmmmmm.......well then, you learn something new everyday.

Yoda DIDN'T lose against palpatine. He'da cut his head off if he wasn't cornered by stormtroopers

Then why didn't he? Sidious fought him to a standstill at best, then Yoda ran off like a bitch. Yoda beheaded two battle-hardened clones without even looking when Order 66 came down, but he can't handle a few Senate security troops for the sake of the entire Galactic population's well being?

Yoda got his ass beat.

Granted it happened too fast and didn't feel like he was losing legitimately so much as he had to lose because there are three more movies in the series. But he lost.

Yes guys, Luke goes on to become the most powerful Jedi there ever was, until he had a child and so on. The Skywalker line (Leia's kids are also incredibly powerful) is the most powerful in the force.

And with Yoda vs Palps, yeah I think he lost, or at the very least he quit. I dont think he would have quit if he thought he could win.

I just got where this games story is headed, wow, didn't think something this major would happen, not sure if I like the idea yet but I have to finish it first.

Just got half way done with the wii version. Pretty monotonous and the graphics are too often pitiful. Controls are mostly fun, when they don't degenerate into a wagglefest. I have to admit, I've actually had a lot of fun playing against my brother in duel mode, which is a pleasant surprise. It may be the only thing that stops me from trading it in once I finish the main story.

Playing this game makes me excited for a motionplus update. Nintendo should work with Factor 5 just so they can get some decent visuals (though it would probably be better if someone else handled gameplay and control).

GAF's attention can only be brought into full focus if there's fantard drama afoot.

If you want to bring the microscope to this game, all you have to do is point out some tiny difference in the 360 and PS3 versions caused by DVD or Cell's limitations.

Otherwise, all that's left to discuss is the actual game. Oh, the horror.

This game is unfinished. I've had The Apprentice translate off of a ledge and into an instant pit of molten metal death without me even in-putting anything. I've had enemies get trapped in or clip through geometry. The targetting system is completely broken, you're simply better off not using it. The soft select does a better job, sort of, it's kind of a crap shoot. The Force Unleashed needs a few more months of polish. There's the potential for a great game here but that's all it is, potential.

If you can look past the flaws, more power to you, I can see why people would like this game but I can't. I think EB is doing one of those wacky you get full credit on a first week trade in for this game kind of deal, I'm going to look into that tomorrow morning.

This game is unfinished.

That's what happens when you fire most of your development team.

I just got killed by the Raxus Prime miniboss. Instead of respawning me back to the beginning of the boss battle. It starts me 10 minutes back before that. What the f#$k.

I just beat the 3rd level and I'm happy. Maybe I'm getting older and less picky, but the game is pretty badass. It had the God of War QTE almost down to the animation, it's got combo upgrades etc. Maybe I came in thinking it was awful and it helped my opinion. Targeting seems to be the only real shitty part of the game mechanics.

Or the Battlefront games, or Jedi Knight games, or dozens of other great Star Wars games....basically the games that are really worth the praise since they are great games. I thought TFU is pretty bad, but I still do think that it is worth a rental for Star Wars fans.

Would anybody kindly spoil the game for me in as much detail as he/she is willing to go into? I am really curious about the whole Starkiller thing but I didn't really like the gameplay.

Thanks in advance
Here you go...

Game starts with Darth Vader landing on a wookiee planet and strangling an Imperial officer. He then proceeds to kill tons and tons of Wookiees and Stormtroopers (well, that's what I did anyway). Darth Vader meets a Jedi he kills by using his QTE powers, and then finds out that the Jedi has a young son with powerful Jedi powers. Vader kills a bunch of more stormtroopers and kidnaps the boy (who is Starkiller!).

Time warp 10 years into the future. Darth Vader gives Starkiller an assignment to go kill a Jedi. Starkiller accepts the assignment with really bad mouth animation. Suddenly Starkiller is ambushed and nearly killed by Obi-Wan! No wait... it's his holodroid mate who has a bizarre program to try killing Starkiller all the time. And the droid is surprisingly adept at using the force and lightsabres (why isn't he off killing Jedis instead?). Starkiller also meets a hawt Imperial officer with boobs called Juno who works as his pilot.

Starkiller kills a TON of stormtroopers and other soldiers to get to the Jedi, who already knew Starkiller was coming so he set up an ambush for him. Starkiller goes "Trap? Meh." and kills the Jedi with his QTE powers. Vader sends Starkiller to go kill another Jedi and says he expects Starkiller to die. And babbles about how they can defeat the Emporer together and says "But sshhhhhh, don't tell anyone, it's secret!"

Starkiller enters his spaceship. The holodroid has planted lots of explosives in the spaceship and Starkiller dies. Wait... no, the holodroid doesn't try to kill Starkiller at all this time for some bizarre reason. He's a very undecisive droid.

Starkiller goes to a junkyard planet and kills the Jedi. Starkiller tries to assemble his lightsabre on board his spaceship, but fails to press one of the buttons in the QTE sequence. Vader contacts him about visting a planet with weird plants and kill another Jedi. There's 2 Jedi there, both of them showing lots of cleavage and setting up an ambush for Starkiller. One of them is too afraid and runs away. The Jedi ambush fails due to Starkiller's QTE powers (not very good at setting ambushes, Jedi are).

Vader says Starkiller is finally ready to go kill the Emperor with Vader. Being very confused, the Vader accidentally stabs Starkiller instead of the Emperor. And throws him around like a ragdoll while the Emperor giggles a lot. Then Vader throws Starkiller into space and Starkiller dies. The End.

Actually, Starkiller didn't die afterall. He was saved by Vader after floating around in space a bit. Starkiller is a wee bit pissed off and asks why Vader is being such a sillypants, Vader replies "Whoopsie. Now we'll go prepare for the Emperor's assassination. But we need a big army. So go assemble an army now plz."

Before going to assemble an army, Starkiller rescues Juno from jail because she has boobs. Starkiller go to meet with Kota, the Jedi he killed in the first mission. *gasp* Kota is still alive! But he's become blind so he can't use any force powers. And he calls Starkiller "Boy!" a lot.

Starkiller travels to Kashyyyk to rescue Leia who's been taken hostage by the Imperials (rather good at being captured, she is). And is sent to rescue Leia's father on some planet with weird plants you visited before (hint, a scared Jedi with cleavage was there, could she still be there?)

Juno is sad because the Imperials has taken a sarlacc hostage. That the sarlacc is an evil creature who only likes to kill people and Boba Fett doesn't bother her at all. And she was suspiciously silent as Starkiller slaughtered thousands of stormtroopers and defenseless jawa throughout the game. Starkiller agrees with Juno because she has boobs.

*gasp* The scared Jedi with cleavage is still there, and now as Starkiller is all goodie goodie she's of course turned to the dark side and tries to kill him. But well, Starkiller knows QTE so he wins. He lets the scared Jedi run away, so the developers has an excuse to make a sequel.

He succeeds in rescuing Leia's father and they babble about starting a rebellion. Starkiller contacts Vader about a new assignment and Vader tells him to go destroy a bunch of Star Destroyers in a shipyard to annoy the Emperor. Juno discovers Starkiller is still working with Vader and becomes all confused why Starkiller even bothered to rescue her from the Empire. He knows the answer (boobs) but he's too afraid to say it.

Starkiller destroys a big Star Destroyer in the most dull gameplay sequence you can think of. Even his QTE sequences were more engaging. The droid pretends to be Darth Maul and almost kills Starkiller, but Starkiller stabs him a lot.

Leia's father has been able to assemble a big rebel alliance and they meet up on a planet to designate Starkiller the overall leader of the alliance. But then suddenly the empire attacks the meeting and Vader throws Starkiller around like a ragdoll. And for some ultra bizarre reason, the holodroid was there as Leia. Vader starts babbling about how he lied the entire game and how he was working for the emperor all along. This make Starkiller very sad so he runs away. Vader captures the rebel leaders and is left very confused about why the droid pretended to be Leia.

Starkiller travels to the Death Star to finally end things (after a brief cutscene with Starkiller and Juno being all kissy kissy). Starkiller gets very confused about the layout of the space station and ends up needlessly backtracking through half of the level becuase the stupid goal marker on the minimap was pointing in the wrong direction. Starkiller is starting to wish he could stab the developers.

Emperor practices his speech for Luke in Episiode 6 by talking to the rebel leaders about how they'll die and stuff. He sees Starkiller on a camera thingy and asks Vader "Didn't you kill the boy twice already? What kind of retard are you? Go kill him... AGAIN!" (well, he said something like that anyway).

Starkiller stabs Vader a lot in a super frustrating boss fight which is even super hard on the lowest difficulty what the hell? Starkiller finally defeats him, and gets a choice from the Emperor: "Come save Kota from my electricity spell, or go stab Vader some more!". Starkiller decides to stab Vader a lot more until he's very dead. The Emperor then drops a spaceship on top of Starkiller and revives him as a new Vader (although Starkiller's suit doesn't look as cool as Vader's suit).

Rewind a bit, and Starkiller decide to save Kota instead. But while saving him he accidentally gets caught by Emperor's electricity spell and dies. The other rebel leaders manages to escape the death star (while in handcuffs. Quite impressive, yes). The Emperor starts to dwell a little about this and goes "Well... erm... um... perhaps it was a bit silly to indirectly assemble a big rebel alliance and destroy one of our biggest star destroyer shipyards. I can't even remember why we did all that in the first place, oh well."

In a final cutscene, Kota talks to Juno about how he used his force powers to sense something good in Starkiller all along ever since he was rescued by him (even though he claimed he lost his force powers, the dodgy liar). Juno asks what good thing he sensed in Starkiller. Kota responds "Your boobs.".

The end.

The platforming in this game is real shitty.

Probably my only real problem with the game. The camera seems to automatically pan up when you jump, causing you to lose sight of the target platform.

just finished the story mode in the ps2 version of the game .. the story mode and dialogues etc are the same across all versions yes ?

according to the massive black wall above the game has 2 endings, the game did a really piss poor job of telling me about that though >_> and i naturally assumed that
kicking vader's ass some more was the only thing i could do , granted it was pretty awesome to see the apprentice mess vader up that bad.

I don't think they're completely the same, but they should cover the same basic story beats. The execution will obviously be different.

The section where you have to
bring down the starship with force grip
is fucking bullshit. Some of the clumsiest shit i've ever experienced in gaming. Just gave up after about 25 tries at that section...fuck this game...

I really shouldn't have put it on Sith Lord. The Junkyard boss took me for-fucking-everrrr.

Also: There's a bunch of stupid bugs in this game, but it's still a fantastic rental. The Junkyard Boss got glitched onto the wall at one point. All he would do is jump up to the wall, then slowly and awkwardly slide down. I could force lightning him, but I couldn't trigger the QTE. People keep saying it's "action game lite" and such, but this is a hundred times more fun than DMC4.

EDIT: Despite the million problems with this game, it's still amazingly fun to play.

From another forum:

Go by what the prompts are showing you. Don't try and gauge it by what you are seeing. Also, I found that sometimes I'd litterly have to push it up a little on the left thumbstick. When you can see the L or R, you have to do something. I think if it's blank, you can leave it in a neutral position. Also, don't keep holding a thumbstick when it says to let go. Let go. I found that I couldn't move the target that well since if seemed that I was interferring with my own efforts on the other thumbstick. If you feel the need to keep some pressure on it, that's fine. Just don't bury the thumbstick in that direction.

ran into this too.
The problem was the Star Destroyer was too low but it didn't indicate the Right Stick needed to be pushed up.
Which really bugged me, but I pushed the stick up until the space between the two buttons turned Green. Then after a second or two, it gave me the option to pull down.

Took 3 passes of TIE squadrons before I realized what was wrong.

Constant glitching and frustrating boss battles are no match for good game design, kid.

Can someone tell me how I'm supposed to beat the force push challenge in the training room? While the others are simple. This one is lame. The stormtroopers shoot the exploding barrels before I can push them. And pushing the troopers alone doesn't kill them quick enough.

Hang in there. Just beat the game on Sith Lord; the junkyard guy is definitely the worst boss you'll be fighting. In fact, I beat about 4 or 5 of 'em (Bosses) on my first try.

Granted, it's not going to be the end of your frustrations; the beginning of the last stage was annoying as hell till I had a cunning plan

What level is your push? Try mastering it first. Besides that, I realized that the challenge rooms seem to be tied to the difficulty. After I beat the game and changed to apprentice, I ran through all the challenges.

"All too easy."

Glad to see lots of justifiable hatred for
the Star Destroyer sequence
, here and in other forums.

How in the word you take what should be one of the defining moments of the game and drive it right into the ground is beyond me. You've already traversed the level. You've had a boss battle, which could arguably be considered two boss battles, and this should be a fun reward. Instead they turned it into a tedious mess that seriously subdued any desire I may have to replay this game in the near future.

I wonder if the dev team ran short on time and threw this one over the fence to the SWG devs. Those guys are experts at sucking the fun right out of Star Wars.

Just beat Felucia and
HOLY SHIT! Did I interpret that right? Vader started the Rebel Alliance?! Now that's a fucking game changer. This story just veered into total awesomesauce. Why couldn't this be Episode III? Or Hell, they should have saved this for the live action TV series.

Alright, I just picked this game up yesterday and I am loving it. The storyline is great so far. In the first level,
playing as Darth Vader
is awesome. Right now I am about halfway through the second level.

Finished last night. Beyond the already discussed issues
FUCK YOU, STAR DESTROYER
, I had a fun time. I do think Tycho from Penny-Arcade was o nto something though. While I didn't loathe the core gameplay, it did get more and more repetitive as the game progressed. The actual look of the game coupled with the story kept me going though, and I'm glad I did. Cool ending(s).

Satisfying overall.

The live action TV series is set in the same time period.

Alright, storyline is fucking awesome. I have a question about one of the bonus objectives.

I am in Fallucia for the second time and that big creature is being held down by some sort of cranes. My pilot asked me to try to destroy said cranes but I can't figure out how. I can lock onto them, shoot them with lightning, shoot them with force push, but none of that seems to work. Has anyone completed this bonus?

I know, what I'm saying is this story has so much relevance to the SW continuity, that I can't understand why they didn't save it for something big like the live action TV series.

Because they wanted money now?

In seriousness, it's probably because the live action series is still a long way off and they wanted something now that was important in the timeline.
