Has anyone made a second SFIV GAF username on the 360 yet? I tried adding the first a day or so ago and it was full up. I'd really like to play a some matches against GAFers so feel free to add me

Can we download the costume pack yet that came free with the CE (on PS3 btw)?
Is there a code somewhere for it, I didn't really pay attention when I opened my CE, I just got the game out.

I absolutely CANNOT do Rufus' HP > Heavy Galactic Tornado. And it's driving me nuts because I can't finish trial mode because of it. I can do everything else fine. I just cannot figure out the timing on this...

Does anyone know where I can find a video of someone going through trial mode with him? I remember someone linking to a bunch of trial mode videos on YouTube but now I can't find them.

It's on a sheet in the movie case. My code doesn't seem to work so I'm guessing it's not available yet. Figured I'd double check here though.

I finally played SF4 yesterday, and it is so, so delicious.

I am especially in love with the Arcade Mode Interrupt Request feature; it is like the golden age of the arcade again. I couldn't even get past my first match intro without getting challenged by all comers.

It was tough playing with Dual Shock 3, and not much better playing with a Nuby SFAC Controller plugged in via a Radio Shack PS2 to USB adapter (that works, btw - try it with your PS2 sticks!); hopefully I can be better with a Fightstick SE or a Sega Saturn USB controller. Got some wins online with Ryu, Guile and Blanka playing them like I did in Super Turbo, but I really need to understand the Focus Attack to stand a chance.

How can I train doing Focus Attack Dash Cancels?

I also can't get any online matches (PS3). Only way I can fight online is through Arcade mode, or by creating my own room. I have no luck with quick or custom matches in ranked or player match.

Quick questions:

1) You can only have 2 people in an online game? No quarter matches or anything like that? If not, that sucks big time :(

2) Can you set the arcade request thing so that only people on your friends list can jump into your game?

Wow, this thread moves fast, any answers to the above?

Same here.

...Ironically, I tried to catch you online and it wouldn't let me. I think it's because wifi on PS3 is shitty or something. :(

My wifi on my ps3 gives me 4 bars usually, so I dunno man, download less porn!

I have also been having troubles with my wifi in general. Every twenty minutes or so the signal drops, and my laptop & PS3 take about ten seconds to re-acquire the signal. Fortunately I haven't dropped any of the few matches I have been in.

Definitely send me an invite next time you see me on. I am losing my patience with arcade mode, I think going online is my best bet to improve.

Well amazon charged my card today for my TE Stick, I have next day shipping so Im hoping it comes tomorrow. Delivery date still says the 24th...Im hoping thats wrong or just not updated, and the stick shipped out today.

Trying to beat the challenge combos on the dualshock 3 is torture.

Popular fighting games tend to be this way on launch. Once the number of users dies down it becomes very usable.

OK, heres the Spaniards DEFINITIVE GUIDE to unlocking Akuma and Gouken:

Unlock all the characters except Akuma, Gouken and Seth, these are easy and people seem to be having no problem.

Playing on "Easiest" and "1 round" pick a character YOU HAVE ALREADY BEATEN THE GAME WITH.

Beat the game doing the following:
ONE Perfect
ONE Ultra Combo finish
NO continues
Do this and Gouken might show up, you DO NOT WANT THAT.

Follow these instructions and Akuma will challenge you after Seth, you will unlock him after that.

Now, beat the game with Akuma, I dont care how, just do it.

After that, pick a character you have already beaten the game with THAT ISNT AKUMA. (Edit: this may not be the case, go ahead and try for yourself on this instance if you feel like it)

Beat the game doing the following or better:
TWO Perfects
TWO Ultra Combo finishes
NO continues
Do better than this and Gouken will show up after you beat Seth, beat him to unlock him.

If you are having problems getting the perfect rounds, do the following: Pick any guy with easy fireballs (Ryu, Ken, Sagat) and in the first two fights on easiest ONLY DO FIREBALLS. The first two opponents will always just walk into them until they die, I can pretty much guarantee this.

Youre welcome
so far i got every1 unlocked except for gouken and seth....I unlocked akuma but havent beaten the game with them, and to make sure I got 3 perfects and 3 ultras...but i died during one of them...maybe thats why gouken didnt come? or is it because I didnt beat the game with akuma before hand?

also, m.bison is very easy to beat the game with, just keep doing psycho crushers and his ultra is mad easy to do...I think im gonna main him

I should also put that no continues = no rounds lost if youre playing with 2 rounds (just to be safe)

For fighting CPU Zangief as El Furete, I had to begin being cheap and doing the move where he jumps on the opponent and throws him down over and over again.

Oh, and I'm probably the only person that doesn't have trouble with Seth, though I haven't played any hard modes.

Even with some practice last night the combos don't come out naturally. Kinda frustrating since this is usually a non issue.

eh, practice? is the 3 buttons the problem or the motion? If its the buttons the map all 3 punches/kicks to one extra button on the dpad/stick and that should fix you up

Other than that is just getting comfortable with the motions, some of us have been doing double fireballs since Super Turbo days, so its second nature now.

is the timing different than the 2D ones or is it the controllers?

What are the better PS1/PS2 sticks around? I want to try some sticks on my USB adapter; maybe they'll be even better than the Fightstick SE to use!

Using the same Stick i've been using for the past 10 years. The timing just seems... off.

I mean a simple

c.mp,c.mp,c.mk->Headbutt should not fail 90% of the time.

Hell I fail with a simple 2in1 c.mk->qcb+p on viper.

Yes he's the only guy I dislike fighting against. Just keeps grabbing or rolling! XD

Some dude said a while back that it doesn't. I was curious myself and my question went unanswered for a while. I just picked up the game this morning on my way to the office (at 7/11 of all places). I can confirm it tonight.

That would be great. I am a little more cautious about buying PS3 games due to the fact that my RPTV CRT will only display 480i, 480p, and 1080i content.

No its not that, the super combos and all the other moves I was able to do them no sweat from the beginning, but for some reason I cant do ultras.

Thanks for the advise Ill try it out.

I understand. 720 looks like crap on my screen compared to 1080. (yet i'm neither getting a stick nor using the 360 pad, so ps3 it is)

There were people that said this played like HD Remix (or i guess more specifically like super turbo).

Those people were full of shit.

So I unlocked Akuma last night...played another game, got to Gouken and defeated him, but still wasn't able to unlock him =/ What gives?!

Any tips?

I was using Ryu, 1 round, easiest setting (stupid easy using him...jump in roundhouse, crouching roundhouse, repeat :lol)

I think that's mostly for character specific titles.
