Cool. Off topic question:
I want this drawing on my stick
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v637/kandoken/ken-ukyaku.jpg
But it's too small when I apply it to the TE template. Is there some way to enlarge it and preserve the quality? I've asked the artist for a high-res version or the original .psd file. But just in case he doesn't have them, I'd like to know if it's possible.

I went ahead and scaled the image and fit it into the template. I can't guarantee how it will look when printed though.

Ok I got a little carried away with the mockup thing lol, but heres the pics. Im gonna upload 2 PSDs one thats simple with only the art and one that has the different color buttons. Only photoshop you really need is how layers work since its just hiding stuff in folders.

The actual mockup picture is much bigger than what you see below it comes out at 856 x 690 so its a nice size for the web. I shrunk it down so i could show different styles.

I used Raging spaniards El fuerte art, Modus art (guy with the rocketpack) and the wallpapers in the OP.

It's one of my CPS2 arcade boards. I know quite a few people who own one, and far more who own Neo Geo carts. In a thread filled with dudes who own half a dozen+ arcade sticks it's not much of a leap to assume some of them also collect arcade games.
Your dissenting comments are both frightening and enraging. You totally deserve that ban.

I guess I sounded somewhat condescending there, sorry. I bolded the relevant information though, that's something. (...Although you could have searched for any of those three things yourself. It would have been faster than to wait for an answer on a message board, for sure.)

Now let's get back to topic before Teknopathetic accuses us of shitting up the thread (a concept/way of thinking I reject, btw) as well. :p
Well I actually did Google CPS3 looking for pictures and only saw motherboards and CD-ROM drives, then came back and posted the question before moving on to Neo Geo since I figured the CPS route was a dead end. Street Fighter IV has rekindled my love for arcades and since none of them exist anymore I'm finding myself fascinated with the machines and whatnot, but this isn't livejournal so thanks for the help

After one afternoon of hard work, $12., some arcade left overs and a trip to Kinko's to print the artwork, I finish my joystick project. Also went to Best Buy and picked up a Mad Catz GamePad. Now bring on Street Fighter IV !

holy shit now THAT is the kind of arcade stick i need, none of this short nub ball top stuff. Thats the kind of stick i grew up playing with in the arcades.

here are 2 i just threw together, not that great but I'm a gimp noob. I still don't know how to use Jube3's thing

Nice stuff man, I've never really used gimp so Im not sure how well the file would work in it.
I put yours in. Im adding bat tops to the template. Trying to sort the layers as neat as possible. Getting tougher lol.

sak_battop.jpg

Next step after the Bat tops is to add transparent buttons (which will be tricky but I have an idea. Any other features you think people would want?

my modding abilities suck, how hard would it be to add new art to my standard SF4 fight stick? i'd love to put a chun-li one on it.

Awesome. I appreciate that you took the time to do this. Thanks a ton, dude. Hopefully it prints well.

Is Kinkos a good place?

Yeah no problem it didn't take to long. I'm not sure what would be the best place to print it out but I have heard people mention printing out art at Kinkos in some other threads.

Noob question, but how do you actually apply the art? I get I have to unscrew the top, but do I gotta remove all the buttons? Or do I just lift off the old art and place the new art on top?

Damn you Sh0k for making me want a joystick. What brand is that? Will that template work with the MadCatz sticks as well?

Added bat tops, red bezel colors and side color folders in the PSD for modders who plan on going all out lol.

sf4_dan_bezel.jpg

Ill upload a fresh psd with the changes once I finish cleaning the layers out.

So I stopped by a Best Buy and 2 7-11's. No game or pads for me, haha. Interestedly, both 7'11's only had Madden and Fallout 3 basically, only 360. Very depressing.
