There is absolutely nothing wrong with Fei Long. I have never had trouble playing him. He has one of the most killer FA's in the game.

His chicken wing stinks. His srk trades like no other. His ultra is absolutely horrible, unless you enjoy only getting a few hits comboing into it. His decent normals aren't enough to make him worthwhile. He is one of the worst characters in the game. I can't decide who I think sucks worse... Fei or Dan.. hhhhmmm. You're welcome to disagree if you want.

Fuck I'm getting more and more depressed, I thought Fei Long was going to be much better because of the command throw...And he started out nearly in the middle with Rose and Dan at the bottom if I remember correctly. What a turn of events, they need to restore him back to how he played in Remix. Sirlin went through a lot of shit to make him awesome in Remix and somehow none of the cues were taken.

Hopefully they really tweak some of the console characters for the update. You can tell they just didn't have time to give them the love they needed.

Can't remember if I was posting about this in the official thread lately or not, but it's pretty hard to keep the hype down after the confirmations came in - I love this game so much even with its minor complaints that I have with it (well, maybe no lobbies isn't that minor, but still), so to hear that there'll be 10 additions plus 2 Ultras & game play changes has got me anxiously waiting for official details...

Sadly it won't be coming today, but I can wait till tomorrow...

I guess.

I think they just intentionally gimped the console characters a bit so there was no chance they'd be better than the arcade ones, that way they didn't have to test them as much. This has me wondering if they'll do the same thing with any new characters, or if they are going to do an arcade version a good 6 months or so before the console version. I'm hoping it's the latter, and expecting this to be out late next year rather than this year.

That is something i would do if i were in charge of that :D

Im expecting to see El Fuerte buffs. He is kind of week on the normal attacks department.

Most of the other characters are still beatable as Dan. Dan VS Zangief is just broken.

Im so glad some of you guys don't work for capcom. you'd nerf the entire game :lol. There's a guy on my friends list with a SICK fei long. Constant pressure, lot of mixups, and crazy combos/link. JWong says he's going through a tourney as fei long too, so hopefully we'll get to see what he's made of. I think these bad matchups come down to player skill. I used to have a hard time with gief and rufus as bison, now i can pretty much handle him after learning what stops what.

I absolutely love SFIV, but for some reason I still have more fun playing 3S/HD Remix...Maybe its the game speed of those games and the fact that I'm such a beast with Makoto/Yun in 3S and Honda/Fei Long in Remix.

For me, this is exactly it. 2D generally, and 3rd Strike especially, has a speed, fluidity and grace that IV simply cannot match. It is mechanical and plodding in comparison. I miss that "flow" and hope the update gets closer to matching it.

Well, sort of.

A great player might still beat a good player, even if the matchup isn't in his favour.
But that doesn't change that on avarage, between players of equal skill, some characters just have a big advantage over another.

How SF threads on GAF usually go (from memory) is, lots of screenshots and info, everyone's happy. One screen, one new character, something like that, soooo much bitching. Hoping they at least give us a release date.

When this game drops nobody except the new chars will be played constantly for the first couple of months guaranteed. After that they may realize that they cant get any easy wins (unless one of the new chars winds up broken tier wise) and go back to their comfort zone of shoto/sagat.

I really want to try the new and returning characters though.

I think Fei Long is moving up the tiers,but I do not know why exactly? I haven't seen much video of him lately,but I am hearing that something has been discovered with his command grab(this is what I can guess since I am checking out the Fei Long section at SRK).

This is perhaps why Justin Wong is thinking of using him?
