I don't even care what the price tag is... shiiit even if they have a Limited/Collector's Edition, I will most likely buy it.

If the rumors end up being true, and we get that much new content, I have no problem paying $60. But if Capcom adds lobbies and improves the netcode, or at least doesn't worsen it with lobbies, then that $60 will be so much easier to swallow.

Does not worth it? DLC? Op, what the heck are you even talking about? :D

I have put 600 hours into this beast, so I can safely say that I've got my money's worth back - and a lot more.

Ten more characters? Here we go.... heck, feel free to price it even higher! :)

As much as I love SFIV, if this update is $60, I'm not buying it. It's way too soon to be shelling out that much for a new SFIV unless they really have more than just new characters and balance updates.

The way I see it the game now still retails for $60 and if we get this new version for the same price with even more content than before, it's a plus isn't it?
game hasnt been $60 since april if you look hard enough.

gamestop actually got a memo to clear out non used copies of the game at a discount a couple months back. again i'm suspecting a disc that has both versions on it along side dlc.

It would be nice if Capcom updated the graphics engine a bit too for consoles...I love the new filters on the PC version, would be awesome if they were on the PS3/360 versions too.

...It is not coming in less than a year. As mentioned a gajillion times, this will be an arcade update first and the console release won't be happening until several months after that. Sometime mid next year, at the earliest.

So you work for Capcom? Thanks for the update... :lol

Wait, hold on

If this isnt going to be a console release and an arcade release I am going to :lol and cry at the same time.

yeah since arcades are such the hot spot right now. sf4 probably saw release at less than 30 arcades nation wide. :lol

If the boys at Capcom had a little more faith in the American arcade scene then maybe it wouldn't have panned out like that. Can't be no hotspot if the developers don't put anything out.

God bless Arc System Works.

There day zero, will pay 60 or more. Ready for the rape! Willing and glad to! Capcom and alike will do this because they know the hardcore will buy it regardless. That being me and many others in here. It's always been like this, let's not kid ourselves here.

On the others doubting. That's always the cycle for fighters, if they want a balanced product unlike :hack:soul calibur:cough: Ahem. Having only a Home release is a big mistake. Without a doubt SFIV Dash or Blazblue CC will be in the arcades for at least 6 months before we see home release. Again, this is the trend fighting games have always taken, and it's for the best.

Maybe its not anymore. You would have a point about a "balanced" product if they made balance changes from arcade to console. However, they didn't.

I'd pay 200 american money dollars for this to be a downloadable game that's always on the hard drive. no more disc based fighting games plz

Also they should make a Q alternate costume makoto, make everyone happy. Because Q is a poorly designed and bad Makoto with moves that don't matter in a game without parries.

This is a Japanese game so there is no way it will possibly be DLC. They'd have to rerelease it on disc anyway to make it any kind of serious release at retail, and at that point they're just taking up hard drive space with the update; just buy the $40 one at the store and get a disc you can resell later.

If it's DLC that requires a disc, that is the worst. Takes up more space on the already small and expensive Xbox Hard Drives, whoopee! And you still have to keep your old disc in the drive! Worst of both worlds!

Also this game isn't coming out on consoles for close to a year so I don't know why this is important now anyway.

I hope they get rid of simple alternate costumes and put in Tekken/VF-style customization. If they want this game to have a long arcade life (among 15 years old boys), it needs it!

Q sux, Alex sux, Adon sux. What happened to Rolento, did they decide characters with advanced movement options were just totally lame? Lets put in more chain combos instead!

And wow at some people freaking out about the DLC/disc-based debate. Are some people on here naturally mean, bitter assholes?

In the end, why give a fuck if it is DLC or a disc? We're all going to fucking buy it anyway. I'm sure the amount of people that will rebuy it warrant a retail release, regardless if it breaks the community up.

PC version launched at 40 and was on sale at least with steam for 35 or so pre order.

They often make balance changes from arcade to arcade, though; location tests are fast beta tests with the best players in the world. Not sure if there were many/any revisions to SF4, though.

This has to do with fixing issues from arcade to console how?

"So you work for Capcom? Thanks for the update..."

No, I don't. Do you think they're going to do anything to upset the Japanese arcade scene, though? It's simply conjecture based on the usual trend. I'd be surprised (and happy)if they did anything different. Do you disagree?

It doesn't, but I wasn't talking about that. It has to do with fixing issues, period. You give it to the best players first, they find the issues the fastest.

Did releasing SFIV for consoles disrupt the arcade scene there? Answer: no. They could release them both the same day and I don't think it would disrupt much as far as arcades go in Japan. Seems like the fighting game players choose arcades regardless of console releases. I think it will be 6 months tops. Japanese arcades won't be disrupted. SFIV cab isn't going to do shit for them in North America either, while a console release here is $$$. Plus it's using an existing engine that is already running on said consoles blah blah blah. Same goes with BB Continuum Shift I hope. We'll see.

Can't believe this. You people are screaming bloody murder for a decade about give us more SF, we miss SF. They give you SF? All of a sudden, NAW MAN, THATS ENOUGH. DONT GIVE ME A SWEET NEW GAME.

Like Third Strike wasn't enough of an improvement over 2nd Impact. Like Alpha 2 wasn't to Alpha. Gimme a break.

They're saving their moneys for Madden '11.

"Did releasing SFIV for consoles disrupt the arcade scene there? Answer: no."

It wasn't released the same day or even remotely close so there's no way to say.

I don't necessarily disagree. I would love to see day and date arcade/console releases or even significantly shorter gaps between releases. It's a moot point as to whether it would actually affect Japanese arcades though because how often is that the case? That's my point.

It's definitely like, $20-30 retail now.

Probably the same assholes that think this will bypass an arcade release.

Yeah, we've been buying SF over and over again for a decade now. This is not new.

Will be interesting to see if this will always follow the cooling of interest in the game that always comes with regular milking as well. I remember people bitching and moaning by the time SSF2T came out.

Look what that got them. Arcades in the US ended up dying off and SF3 essentially died on the vine. :(

I know. I'm just saying I don't think it will be a year out this time. It was understandable with the first iteration, but now there is no port job to be done with the consoles. I would be surprised if there is anything major that is console exclusive this time either. We'll see I guess.

I hope it's 6 months. A year would be brutal lol

It wasn't a year the last time. July-Feb. 7 months. Which is about as long as I'd guess would happen this time.

It just depresses me. On the plus side, it always highlights the true believers.

I think there are lot more valid reasons for arcades dying off than Capcom releasing a few too many versions of Street Fighter. Same thing with SF3. I think it was too different for the time. Not enough familiar characters, and the learning curve didn't help either. People who played SFII for years didn't immediately feel comfortable the first time they played the game like all of the SFII versions before it. Consoles getting better and better in America didn't help either SF3 or arcades due to a lot of factors that don't exist in Japan. Size, ease of transportation etc. But yeah, I'm sure SSF2T or the various versions of SF3 was the reason arcades folded here.

Edit: I re-read your post and can't tell if you're blaming Capcom or the people. If the latter... ignore me lol

Maybe if EB has a trade SFIV + 10 dollars for Super SFIV...........

I even shelled out money for a TE stick, but screw buying the same game again

Your loss. You go ahead and not get it. I will and be thrilled to death and continue on with the scene.
