Can anyone fill me in on how Random select works in Super?

I want to know if when you select random does that include secondary choices (outfit/color/taunt/ultra) so everything is 100% random or is it just character and you can choose to set up the character as you see fit?

The other player blocked the kunai the wrong way. it's the old Yoga Catastrophe switcheroo deal.

According to the giant bomb livestream, ultras are random as well

haven't talked to him. i mean you CAN kara with f+lk but its so incredibly hard and doesnt give the same range a s.lk would its not even worth it. just being able to kara her ex oroshi would help her game immensely, she def needs a bit more range on some of her moves.

shes already pretty good I guess but I wont respect any makoto players thats for sure. it's pretty much all or nothing and a ton of guessing, just like the old days. not a whole lot of skill involved, shes super easy to play with her ultra 1 set ups and easy stun.

Wait, the Sagat player in SFIV is saying he'll give no respect to (prospectively) mid-tier Makoto players in SSFIV?

Yeah. I saw that vid too. Looks like the df/mk is more safe to block after. Though there's a lot of things I want to try with Vega. But yeah, U1 has the hit on start up so glad to see it for myself.

Sagat is hard to use, you have to know how to throw a proper fireball game, he doesnt have the luxury of decent mobility and he has a horrible footsie game. That said, hes even harder to use in SSF4. He's easily mid tier now.

Makoto on the other hand can pretty much run all over the screen throwing out random pokes into hayate and ex karakusas just hoping for the best. Trust me, shes pretty retarded, but in a good way. Shes not going to be good as her 3s counter part but she will be a lot of fun to play.

Is his KKK also safer now? I saw him do it and then able to block jabs right away.

KKK is the shorter one right?

Yes. It looks faster and more safe. I'll probably be playing around with that today online. Got a few idea's I want to try out.

Yes because at the 30th/31st of every month people just instantly stop buying games that came out that month..

Who cares if it doesnt make a blip on NPD due to a late release in the month? :lol


Also EX Oil Up being invulnerable to Fireballs is lol.

But I do think that saying "This character stands no chance in tournament play" and making those types of accusations this early in the game (Not even in anyones hands) is laughable.. I mean.. Viper and Gen were lol until people really got to play around with them..

Watching these FADC builds, man if they beefed up Makoto she will be pretty good. Karakusa after hayate, kara-karakusa. she really needs this stuff.

It would be nice if you were able to choose all the options once the character is selected...it would be ok if the cpu went random for all attributes...it would be kind of lame if they left it as just character and ultra are selected and everything else is default.

I would love it if the release was pushed up slightly, especially since the game is gold. It's not like they have much competition this month, and sales will still be posted for the 2010 fiscal year. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF I WANTS IT NOW

We're now @ 29 Days until SSF4 is released, and 6 days until they make whatever announcment @ the JPN Nati'l Tourney...

shame about them load times though

Despite being the 360 version the enormous load times issue is the only reason I think Giant Bomb didn't have the final version.

Yeah, even a lot of stuff in this PAX build is different from GDC. Ryu can c.mk, fadc into ultra 2, kara-karakusas with makoto.. WOOOOW... im glad they are putting more buff stuff in there.. ^_____^

they have to let a few people feel like they have "exclusive" rights to play it a month before everyone else ;) everyone keeps saying final build this, that, etc.. but no one really knows for sure.

OK, I haven't played a Street Fighter game since SF2 CE in the arcades back in my high school days.

I passed up on SFIV without a second thought because I figured it had gotten too far out of hand for my old-ass brain to handle.

So over the weekend I watched the entire 90 minute GiantBomb "live" stream and was absolutely transfixed -- I didn't even put up a fight; I immediately ordered a TE stick, SFIV, and preordered SSFIV

I'm very excited and I hope there are other newb types online that aren't all super serious about it.

thats just what i heard, no idea if its true. but would be cool if true.. i havent seen a video of kara-kara either...but it looks like jwong was able to connect a karakusa after a hayate. that in itself is HUUUGE.
 
Don't mind people playing Dudley online.

Much better than Ken, Ryu, or Sagat. The ones that annoy me the most are the ones that jump back and spam fireball. It's tedious to chase after them every match.

With Dudley, he actually needs to be offensive and can't rely on projectiles.

for the first week or so, probably. Then again, anybody still playing after a few weeks isn't really so casual anymore.

Don't worry, my brother is an old school SF player and he never got into any of the Alpha or 3 series and he picked up SF4 and can handle pretty well with the original cast.

U2 is metsu shoryu, so it's a lot of damage with not a lot of scaling
unless that ultra setup is for the crappy multi hit version

It's kinda like doing a jump in HK into Ultra. All your using is the hitstun from cr. mk. All things considered, it should be full animation...but who knows until we see it. It's not exactly a hit confirmable ultra, unless you cal cr. lk cr. lp cr. mk FADC U2.
