Yeah, not for $1,000. For $400 more I could buy this OG

The Daniel Danger Gorey-inspired Girl in Black is beautiful. I've never seen the movie, but that poster would go on my wall in a heartbeat. I love that style of art.

Speaking of haven't seen/read it, the Kevin Tong Ayn Rand poster is also gorgeous and would go on the wall, despite my dislike of Ayn Rand.

Olly Moss's Star Wars posters are fucking brilliant. Using C3PO's eyes as the binary suns; Cloud City as Boba Fett's visor. Pure genius.

Edit: oh shit, never saw Moss's Totoro poster. Would put that on my kid's wall...shit, my living room wall...in a heartbeat.

Edit2 : Oh shit, reading through the thread and Olly Moss is a GAFFER?! New best GAFfer ever.

Aw man, Nevertheless magazine is amazing, had no idea they'd have the Legendary City prints for sale.

Have to say though, not as nice as some of their other work.

$65 for Stout's Assault on Precint 13, nice catch for me! Not one of the more popular posters hes done, but love the poster's 70's vibe and always a fave movie of mine.

I need to start investing in some prints. I think someone could do an awesome Hunger Games one.

Also, will there be any other way to get the Edgar Wright one? Love it.

There looked to be a decent number left over after Shaun of the Dead and the word was he was not signing after Hot Fuzz so I have a feeling they probably have at least 50 prints left at which point they'd likely put them up on the site. Keep an eye on @mondonews and www.mondotees.com.

I got in some money for a big sale and was always really wanting Jeff Proctors Texas Chainsaw Massacre that is printed on wood. Don't know if anyone is familiar with this one but if anyone knows how sturdy it is? Trying to figure out how I would display it and not crazy about framing a big wooden slab. Is it sturdy enough that you can just lean it on a shelf or is the wood flimsy that it would bend on itself?

Easiest thing would be too nail it to the wall but... yea not going to do that lol

So @mondonews just announced this:

MondoNews: We'll be announcing a new Disney poster tomorrow morning. Really excited about it. It's in a LEAGUE of its own. (bad pun)

The only thing I can think of is 20000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Is A League of their Own a Disney movie? The one with Tom Hanks

Also my computer won't let me go to tragicsunshine.com Anyone else havin this problem?

20,000 Leagues is done by Ken Taylor and it looks amazing.

Looks like I know what I'm doing tomorrow morning.

It's really sharp.. my only "complaint" though is that it almost comes off as TOO authentic.. ya know? It looks like it would have been something produced back when it was released rather than kind of a stylized homage to it. I dunno, maybe I'm crazy.

Think thats what is great about it. They don't make em like that anymore

What kind of glass / plexi do you guys use for your prints? How much does UV actually affect the prints? I will be hanging them up in my computer room which usually have the blinds closed so there won't be direct sunlight for most of the time.

I am going to get a couple of my grails in most likely in the next week or two so I am hoping to frame them up as soon as possible. I want to go to a custom frame shop here in Vancouver, but I am afraid that the price will be almost as expensive as my posters.

I'm interested in this and framing in general too (didn't see a response).

I had my Totoro poster framed at a custom frame shop. They did a phenomenal job and I'm glad I went this route for this poster, but it was super expensive. I'm looking for something to do that's around the $50-75ish range that I could use for posters that aren't as rare or that I don't care as much about.

If you are keeping them in a room away from any sunlight, you shouldn't have to worry about any UV protection. If custom frames seem to expensive you can usually for cheaper get a decent do it yourself frame. When you start getting into UV protection and such on your glass it also really going to raise those prices even more.

Yeah, you'll almost always be paying more for the frame than for the print, especially for odd sizes where pre-built frames aren't an option (such as Moss' 20x36" pieces).

Just out of curiosity, how much did it cost to get the Totoro framed?

Around $300. Had it done at a local shop with tons of glowing reviews. After speaking with them for a while before and after I had the framing done, it was obvious they know what they're doing, don't take any shortcuts, and do very high-quality work.

I probably could've had almost the same thing done at Michaels or something for half the price, but I don't think it would be the same.

BOO MICHAELS, BOO!

Next time you want to frame something yourself, go to americanframe.com. You can get a high quality frame for fairly cheap and framing it yourself is pretty easy. Michael's framing service is incredibly overpriced. I went in to see how much it would cost to have a cheap frame made for my Moss Mario and they wanted $300. You're better off either going to a professional framing place or doing it yourself.

If you were lucky enough to order a Zelda Moss Regular Edition, this is for you:

Olly Moss said:
Zelda Regular Delay

OK, so Mitch unwrapped the regular Zeldas to start shipping them this weekend - he noticed there were a couple of printing issues due to the way I'd set up the file - stuff that didn't show up on the variant edition. He sent me a photo and I didn't really feel happy sending them out to the people that bought them, so we are doing a full reprint of the regular and will send them out as soon as we get the replacements in. They'll be going out within the next two weeks. We've emailed everyone who bought one but I thought I'd post in here as well to keep people updated.

Cheers

Olly

Holy cow! I'd love to see a photo of it.. I haven't gotten around to getting my Totoro framed yet so I'm curious to see how the frame itself looks.

That Beauty and the Beast one is stunning.

don't like any of the ones mockingbird just posted in his new post. I really wish I'd gotten the brazil. Maybe I might have to pay for it on ebay. They had an artbook; the other day - I couldn't even find out more info - it was $200 and gone in a second.

There are a ton of them on eBay, you could probably pick up a regular for ~$150. It is a wonderful poster.

I REALLY want this 20,000 Leagues print but I have to get on a bus soon. I hope it goes up in the next 30 min...

Maybe someone on here who isn't interested could snatch it for me and I'd pay them a little extra for their trouble?

Don't worry, I won't ever be using Michaels haha. Thanks for the tip on americanframe.com, I will definitely check it out the next time I want to frame something myself. That's exactly what I was looking for when I asked about self-framing a few posts ago.

The frame is pretty simple/minimalistic but I think it matches the Totoro print perfectly. I'm waiting until I move to a new place in a couple of months before I hang it, so I'll come back here and post pictures then.
