Yeah, I think people can be a bit crazy about this stuff. Everyone who does likenesses (or realistic human figures for that matter) is using photo reference, though you may just not recognize the photo (hell, Norman Fockwell even used a projector sometimes). This one was more a question of me just tripping over it and thinking "I just saw this somewhere recently...OH YEAH!"

Edit: In all honesty I'm kind of mad at myself now for posting it, as it really annoys the shit out of me when people get up in arms about this sort of thing. I'M PART OF THE PROBLEM!

Grabbed my signed Stout Reservoir Dogs from the post office today. Looks awesome! I need something to store/flatten it in while I decide if I want to trade or frame it. Does Amazon sell any safe (for art prints) protective sleeves (Prime FTW) or do I need to go through someone else?

I'm also thinking about trying to trade it for a Moss Mononoke. Would that be a good deal for me, or should I ask for a bit extra?

It seems like people are getting more for RD than they are for Mononoke, but that may change as I feel there's still a lot of hype around the RD.

Over on expressobeans we're commissioning a print for early adopters of the Wii U. We're commissioning artist Bobby O'Herlily to do a small 5"x7" giclee print for Nintendo fans. It's not licensed or official or anything, so no profit will be made. We will only charge the cost of printing, shipping, and share in the commission costs.

There is but a single requirement in order to buy a print. You MUST be a Wii U owner by the end of December 31, 2012.

The cost will be very cheap by the by. I don't think it will be more than $12 shipped to your door and this is estimating on the high end! Likely the real costs will be $5-$9 for the print and $3-$4 for the shipping. We won't know until we have the final number of orders in.

The edition size will be locked to the number of orders. If you're interested please post here or send me a message!

Man I love that print. It's one of my favorites and my friend is going to hook me up with his copy on Tuesday. I believe Bobby is all sold out though. It was an edition of only 25.

I was holding out for a potential Django (which I probably wouldn't get given that I have horrible luck with Mondotees), but at that price for the regular and the fact it is Baroness I think I'll have a go at it.

Yea might buy, much better than the odd Scarlett print they put out. Just sucks that the variant has the metallic inks, as I don't like the gold finish on it.

Let's talk about framing!

I just finished my first frame-up, for a 1xRUN piece I picked up (Charlie Immer — Guts Gust)

Wanted something really simple because the colours in this are spectacular.

Spurred on by this, I went looking to frame up my Sam Smith — Vertigo to give to my GF for Christmas. Was about to give up when I came across this mirror. Took it home and disassembled, came out looking like this. Couldn't believe my luck, especially considering the print was for a screening at the Castro in SF. Perfect decor!

Obviously not the perfect aspect ratio, so I'll need to do some matting and positioning, but it was too good to pass up.

Anyone else get anything framed recently? Let's see!

Right, I'm bloody furious at Royal Mail right now. They delivered my BTTF poster to home, but they left it under a tap outside my house! Fucking thing is completely soaked, and is drying out on my bed now. I can't believe it. Filing a full claim against them.
