received my PRO, just done basic setup and now installing rebirth for testing (not bothered to do PS5 data transfer).

Praying i dont get the electronic curse.

Mine isn't being delivered until early this afternoon, around 1pm according to the text from the courier. Would have been nice if it had been earlier, usually I get new consoles between 9 and 11am. Oh well. The wait is going to be agonising.

Initial impressions.

Console itself is very small compared to the launch option its like a slim pro more than a pro.

Packaging is an absolute disgrace.
Premium expensive product and its in the most basic white box with instructions slung in there along with a. Controller and cables. Nothing particularly secured and considering it's a premium console I would have liked a bit more of an experience.

Yup. I kinda hate DHL and their "by the end of the day" delivery estimation cuz they always deliver in late at the address I'm at, lol.
 
Has anyone who has received it swapped a M.2 over yet, I still can't find any definitive answer if you need to complete the initial setup and sign in first to avoid formatting the SSD, or if your just good to do the swap as the pro comes out the box.
 
Hopefully data transfer works with original connected to a ps portal and pro connected to my monitor. Don't want to go through the ballache of taking the original downstairs to connect to the tv so i can initatite the transfer.

It's still a PS5 with the same OS and DRM, you can swap drives between consoles, the licence is tied to your account, not hardware.

I was always planning on doing the swap before the initial setup as I know your can 100% swap them over, it's just people on here have been saying if your not signed into your account before doing the swap it will format your drive which I obviously don't want, even with a gigabit download speed 3.5tb is going to take a while.
 
Mine's with DPD and should be delivered between 2 and 3pm today :) Perfect, time to get some work done then clear out the afternoon.

I hate this line people have been bringing out.

Phone boxes are just as shit and they cost more than a PS5 Pro. Literally a wire, sim removal tool and the phone in a crap tray inside the box. Even high end TV boxes are just Styrofoam holding the TV inside the box.

Everywhere is cutting down on unnecessary package. So I dunno what people honestly expected.

Did anyone's box came without seal? I picked mine up from JB-HiFi here in Aus, and the box wasn't sealed.
I suspect either customs, Sony Australia or JB-HiFi inspection.

Not arguing your general point. But actually my Master Series TV came in what can only be described as a NASA space suit. It was so luxurious I genuinely felt bad throwing it away.

Do your setup first. Then power down and install SSD. I've done it before from base ps5 to a different one. The process will be the same.
 
I still have to wait for DHL Express. Doesn't say when...
Was going to ask for those that got it, is it quiet(er)?
Just read 2 posts above that it is quiet. Hopefully.

Edit: Just saw the fan/coil whine thread.
