I wouldn't mind seeing the Yankees make it to the ALCS so they can get crushed by the Red Sox.

Where is this eternal well of optimism you drink so copiously from? Or are you sniffin' Pedro's curl activator again? :D

Fuck you Furcal you asshole, you shouldn't even be playing baseball right now.

Yep thats the way the world works for sports stars and celebs, any average joe would be sitting in a cell right now.

Oh well the Stros choked and I wont be suprised if we lose this series now...Cursed franchise that we are.

When you let a bitch like Furcal win with a walk-off HR and cant muster more than 4 hits all game..you got a major problem.....its called deja fucking vu....the Astros of old creeped back into their bodies.

wow, smoltz is the man.
And that's the truth! :) He hasn't pitched 3 innings off the bench in ages. Maybe not since he became a relief pitcher.

Thank goodness the Braves won today. At least it's 1-1, though it should have been 2-0 Braves. It's not like Clemens wasn't begging to be owned yesterday with his rather mediocre pitching performance. "C'mon Braves!! Own me hard!!" "No, that's alright Roger. We'll try to own you when you're pitching your best!" :p :p

lol. I thought Pete van Wieren was going to bust a vein in joy when Furcal hit the home run. All in all, a thrilling game. Nothing like an extra-inning playoff game.

What the hell. Why did I have to go to last night's crappy game instead of this one.

Anyways, yay Furcal.

:lol

Throwing in the towel already? :lol

Listening to the announcers were funny before that home run. Justice and Brantley were bitching about Furcal's swings, telling him he should slap the ball the other way instead of trying to pull it. Then he jacks a two run homer by pulling it out of the park. :lol

Astros have looked like the Cubs on O the last two games.....Scoring pratically only on HR's.

I'm not throwing in the towel,I'm just saying knowing our franchise and its playoff history.....things dont look good.

PS- I hope I'm dead wrong.

if the braves were to win the world series...wouldnt furcal have to serve some time in jail immediately after (like 5 hours after the last out)?

if the braves end up beating the stros, the cards are a lock for the world series
I think the Cards are a lock no matter who they face. I can't see either the Braves or the Astros facing the Cardinals and not getting their clocks cleaned.

I'm just pissed the fuck off..so let me go ahead and say it. Furcal's dumbfuck self should be in prison right now. Jackass.

But anyway, I was surprised by the Lidge in the 7th move. Pinch hitting for Biggio with Lane...eh...I dunno. Not bunting with 0 out men on 1st and 2nd. :\

Cy Backe will kick Atlantas ass though

i think the stros can give them a run. they had good games during the regular season. i know the last few games were meaning for the cards, but i still think the stros could beat them, or at least take them 6 or 7 easy

prior should shut his yapper.

gotta feel bad for sosa even though he left that game early. that was just wrong but he was a king in chicago now everyone's turned on him.

Sorry dude, Stros aren't going to the NLCS.

They thought this team was different than the previous playoff choking teams, but yesterday the Disastros of old came back.

prior should shut his yapper.

Justify this statement. Sammy gave up on the Cubs. Not the other way around. Prior was dead on and it is damn time a real leader/captain steps up for this team, not a facicious one who dons the Captain title but doesn't give a damn (Sosa). Sosa needs to apologize before coming back to the team. Otherwise why don't we send him to the pinstripes since Georgie boy loves to overpay his players.

yeah sosa fucked up and yes he must apologize but all this hate he's getting because of that? i dont think so. he's brought too much to that organization and that city to be treated like he is after one fuck up. the truth of the matter is that everyone is pissed at sosa because his skills have diminished.

Or how about the fact that he lied to the media and fans.

He has done a lot, but the Cubs organization has done a ton to cover up a lot of his shit. Now it is starting to come out and we know how Sosa truly is. He was never about the team, it was ME, ME, ME. And the fans harp on him for playing poorly (As they should) and his fragile ego can't take it so he cracks. Not only does he crack, but he lashes out at a manager who did nothing but get himself in hot water for protecting Sosa. He gives up on his team, he cries about him taking all the blame. He wasn't even close to taking most of the heat. It was Baker. But ME, ME, ME Sammy thinks it is all about himself. He fucked himself over and he needs to get out of town. I defended him for years, but this last act is nearly unexcusable.

He won't even apologize himself he has to have his agent do it for him:

here's a dumb baseball rules question i've always wondered:When a player foul tips a ball into the catchers mit, shouldn't that be an automatic out? Isn't it technically the same as catching a foul ball?

WTF? you have to pay to listen to games on mlb.com?? I'm trapped at work, is there any internet radio stations airing the game for free?

EDIT:
haha, as if it wasn't already pretty much a done deal, Figgins IS the MVP if/when the Sox win.
-B. Mueller safe at first on second baseman C. Figgins' fielding error

Looks like the Red Sox will be well rested to take on a battered and bruised Yankees team....IF they make it out of the ALDS.

:lol @ me. I picked the Angels and Dodgers to win their series. Anyway, Yanks should be very afraid. RedSox can rest and Schill can probably now pitch games 1, 4 AND 7 (if its neccesary) in the ALCS.

I was hoping for atleast 1 win but I dont think it's gonna happen. Team is making stupid decisions like i've never seen them make all season long. Maybe next year! Im just glad they made it to the post season, so im not that mad they are getting hammered by the Cards.

On the Angels side, I am quite surprised their pitching and offense have been so poor. I thought for sure their offense would keep them in games but it's been totally non-existant.
