Who else here who when they go to work they can't help but want to get back and play this magnification game and getting cold turkey just thinking about it?! I've been sacrificing an extra hour of less sleep to play it longer in the week days!

Man I really love this game. Geralt is such a boss and I just can't help but fall in love with the dialogue and writing with this game.

Right here. It's actually bringing my work performance down a bit since I can't stop thinking about this game and checking this thread lol.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
Well the ramifications of my choices for completing the entire Baron's quest arc have been nothing short of depressing and tragic. If there's a silver lining, I don't know where it is.
Wood spirit freed because it seemed lesser than the Crones. Village driven mad to the point of murdering each other. Orphans freed, but to fuck knows where. Gran punished by the Crones by being shape shifted into a water hag and given a death sentence that cannot be cured. Daughter still hates Baron. Baron hangs himself, his raping, murdering soldiers now running the village.

The exact same thing happened to me last night. I honestly feel heartbroken. I don't know what to do because I can't go all the way back as I don't have a save from before the tree.

Wow, this is like a total and complete 180 to how my arc ended. Holy shit didn't realize it would change that much. (Mined ended up a helluva lot more nicer).

I gave up and resolved to come back when I had a deck as stacked as his. The dude literally just has all the special cards.

FUCK. THAT. GUY.

I had him dead to rights last night tied 1-1 on our last round. Dude plays a 10 strength archer as his last card that has a special ability allowing him to pull a card from his discard deck and plays another 10 strength card. I lose 21-2. I gave up until I can get a deck together and destroy him.

I got so fucking lucky against that guy. I don't know if his AI screwed up, or what but essentially this is how it went.

Me first: +4
Him: +10
Me: +2
Him: +10
Me: Pass
Him: Pass, Round Over He Wins

Me First: +6
Him: +4
Me: +3
Him: +10
Me: +8
Him: +5
Me: +5
Him: Pass
Me: Pass, I win

Him first: Remove Weather Card
Me: +2
Him: Remove weather card (? Ok)
Me: +2
Him: Pass
Me: Pass, I win

It was a bit silly because I'd played him 4 straight times and got wrecked each time prior.

Yeah, one thing i've learned playing Witcher, the alternative choice never seems to have a happy ending. Someone gets fucked no matter what option you choose.

I decided to leave the quest unfinished because the town
seems to go to shit once you see the baron hanged.

Played for a few more hours last night, I think I'm up to 6 currently. The first couple were a little rough but the game has completely turned the corner for me, I am hooked! If only I had 16 straight hours of free time or so...

Damn. Let me know what you did so I do it differently.
Will probably end up worse

Well that is interesting, 'cause in my quest i fight and
kill her in the end 'cause she was going to give some papers to a bad guy

Besides
she played and used Geralt put him to sleep etc more than enough reason to put her down IMO she didn't hesitate to attack when i asked for the papers lol

If i have a glitch quest in the first area of the game, can i come back later (when they will patch it) to complete it or we can't go back to this area later ?

Just played about 2 hours so far. I'm really overwhelmed by all the menus, millions of markers on the map, the controls, combat, etc. It probably doesn't help that I don't really play that many open world games either. Enjoying it, but definitely a steep learning curve, at least for me.

I like open world games, but pretty much every game once they let you out into the world post-tutorial, I get overwhelmed and unsure exactly what I want to do. I end up playing for a few hours to get a feel of the game and mechanics (what to do and what not to do) and once I get comfortable; I just start a new game. It wastes time, but has worked well for me and I pick up on stuff that I missed or screwed up on the initial start.

How did yours play out? I can pretend that happened to me.

What did you do instead ?

Killed the wood spirit, village was saved but the leader guy had to sacrifice his ear to the crones (worth it?). Orphans have disappeared (presumably crones did something to em, who cares they were brats anyway). Gran is kind of in a state of mental shock but is seemingly free from the crones hold. Baron has a epiphany and regrets everything he did and has vowed to stop drinking and be a good husband/father this time. Baron wants to take Gran for treatment to a healer he knows, at first daughter disagrees but then she sees her father may really have changed. She wants to go with Gran/Baron but he commander says no you must return to your duties. After baron disappears with his wife, the person who he left in charge orders soldiers to ransack the village.

I can't seem to find the Moon Dust bomb Recipe... Can someone tell me where it is?

Also the Beast oil but that isn't much important right now. I cannot beat the
Jenny of the wood
without the bomb ;_;, at least not on Death's March.

Just died.

Took a minute and 5 seconds to load back in.

PS4, using the default HDD.

Sometimes i have 40 secs of loading when i die... sometimes it's less..
I found out it depends on where you die and where the game put you after loading the save.
It's weird since i can have less than 10 secs of loading sometimes and at times it goes into the 40's

PS4 , default HDD, btw

As much as I loved my GoT Hound looking armour my new one has better stats and looks pretty cool. Also found a really badass sword.

Lashley

Why does he wear the mask!?
Is i meant to start raining with lightning when you return to the Baron? If not, it was a nice touch for me. Made it more dramatic.

So I finally beat the werewolf, what I love about this game is I am fixated on doing the side missions because they actually set them up extremely well. I cant stop looking at all the lore.

Quick questions though. Is there a way to find out how far along I am?

ALSO

I have just done the mission with the sorceress whos mascarading as a witch, can anyone provide info on her from the previous games. I know she was part of the order who tried to take power but did she actually appear in W1/W2?

I'm in a spooky tower on an island in Velen and there are these ethereal, green patches everywhere. I can't seem to interact with them. Are these something I need to come back later for?

New complaints

Swimming controls are absolutely horrendous. My god. And what's the deal with fucking money in this game. My Geralt is poor as fuck all the time no matter how many quests I do. I guess only Witcher contracts pay out? Also in the heat of it all I forget that dismantling can pretty much clean you out if you're not careful.

Other than that, best western RPG hands down. The writing is just, wow, top fucking notch.

Can someone help me out here? I've barely played the game at all. Had no time. Only lvl 2, but I'm stuck on the Griffin fight. I thought it would be somewhat easy considering it's kind of a tutorial thing. Was I supposed to do a bunch of side quests before doing this? It's absolutely kicking my ass. Taking huge chunks of my health. Even with the potion and food, I'm barely doing damage to it. I feel like I can't get close enough to do damage without taking damage in turn. What am I missing?

You post such cool armour finds, can you include their names (you can spoiler tag them if you want!). I love fashion in RPG games, lol.
