so I rad that kotaku article and now I finally know what happening.

the graphics are really disappointing tbh. looks terrible on ps4. but I still like the dense atmosphere.

also, HOW DO YOU STOP AUTOSHEATHING?? what the fuck is this shit? I am fighting and he sheaths the sword and can't draw it for some glitchy reason and half my health is gone.

Are you being too far from the enemies? I don't believe it will put the sword away when in the proximity of enemies unless you are out of distance from them.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
If they were to ever patch in a technical/graphical improvement for the PC crowd, I'd love to see better quality reflections. The shader they're using is very cheap and low resolution.

Can anyone tell me if Iorveth turns up?

Having finished the game,
no, he doesn't. I went into the game with a Witcher 2 save which followed Iorveth's path and saving him at the end of the game, but there's been no mention of him in Witcher 3, nor does he appear at all save as a Gwent card.

Wait, did you actually beat the game? There are 3 distinct ending outcomes, what did you get?

There are multiple endings and outcomes. It all depends on choices you have made during the story.

In my ending:
they both lived.

Yup definitely beat the game but I guess I took a rather bad path along the end somewhere.
In my ending I couldn't stop Ciri going into the gate. Next thing I know Geralts hunting down the last Chrone and when he finally gets the pendant back he gave up and accepted death since he had nothing left to live for.

What a shame, was my favourite character from 2 :(

The red arrow under the marker means it's below you. Maybe there's a cave somewhere.

I completed the Baron quest. Major spoilers
I killed that thing in the tree. After releasing the pesta I thought maybe I should stop releasing horrors onto the world, plus that thing seemed evil. It whispering to me when I approached the hill was creepy as fuck. How do you trust something like that? I then met the crones. Oh god. So they basically they made Anna take care of those orphans so the witches could eat them? Oh god. When that one was playing with the legs... oh god. I told the Baron and he wanted to march down to the swamp and take his wife back. Seemed like a suicide mission, but I decided to tag along, why not. Fought a trillion drowners and then some huge ass monster called a fiend. Baron is taking his now crazy wife to a healer in the Blue Mountains, and Tamara seems to be content with that but still beholden to the church. Overall, I think things played out well, minus the children being eaten. It was a fascinating storyline. The characters had their moments of awfulness, but they all seemed like victims of circumstance. Yeah the baron is extremely violent which led to unnecessary deaths including his unborn child, but he became abusive due to becoming an alcoholic as a way to escape trauma he experienced during war, and Anna fled to another man because of the way the Baron would lash out at her. Tamara was caught in the middle and it makes sense why she would flee. I loved how the choices were not so obvious and there pros and cons of every angle. The way multiple quests tied into it, including side quests that you don't even have to do, shows CDPR are masters are crafting meaningful and well-written quest lines. I really don't see how another quest line in this game is going to top the Baron one, but I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

TLDR; this game.

Well in my opinion. There is one small detail that made me trust the
tree spirit
rather than the witch is that when I was
approaching the tree the whisper specifically told me to go back. What evil doer would warn you against themself? That makes me believe all those deaths were just collateral damage as it said and because the peasants failed to heed its warning.

Fucking shame that it seeks vengeance upon the village though.

I guess in this quest letting children die is actually the lesser evil.

Now I actually sympathise with Geralt when he said between the 2 evils he rather not choose at all. Dude must've been wrecked countless times because his choice failed him.

I did and I got past it doing what I said.

I just said I got past it. That doesn't make it excusable and my point still stands that this game has a lot of game breaking bugs. It's all well and good that other people haven't experienced them, I just don't like how GAF lets some devs off the hook for it and some not.

Having finished the game, the ending I got was
Ciri entered the portal (I said "Good Luck" to her as a final thing), then it cutting to Geralt meandering around and collecting a special silver sword from a Swordsmith, then meeting with a hooded Ciri in a Tavern who had chosen to become a Witcher herself, whilst Geralt retired to live happily ever after with Triss. Had a big smile on my face and definitely a gratifying ending. What a game!

Is there a weaponsmith that can craft better weapons than most before doing the quest related one (since the quest has a lot of levels on me still)? A lot of armorers I'm stumbling across but not many weaponsmiths.

Can I safely sell and dismantle everything in the Junk category? I'm kinda hesitant on selling stuff because I might need it for crafting.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
So I'm doing the Wandering In The Dark quest and I ran out of any sort of health regen items (I'm on the hardest difficulty) right before the fight with
The Wild Hunt warrior
. I'm on a sliver of health and I'm regaining health very slowly, is there any way to speed things along or should I just let the game idle for half an hour to let my health go up?

This is how my first fight with him tragically ended... Lol.

Just finished that quest last night on death march. Took me a few hours given how brutal some of the encounters are at level 5. That boss is pretty simple though, just time consuming. you can circa dodge his attacks easily and follow through with a single heavy attack repeatedly. Just hit him once, immediately dodge his axe and repeat while queen is always active for safety.

Be sure to never hit him when he is bubbled, and expect to whittle his entire health bar down 3 times due to his regen while dogs are summoned. I still killed him this way without ever taking damage. Just don't get greedy trying to land extra hits as his axe swing only allows a single heavy attack between lunges, which you need to avoid. The dogs shouldn't be too bad either with quen up and liberal quick dodges.

That whole dungeon was awesome on death march.

Okay guys, I'm in need of some new armor.

Will I just naturally find some new armor or do I have to actively craft it or look for it? I'm still running around in his (upgraded) leather armor he has, but I want something new. Some heavy armor or something.

Also, I find steel swords by the bucketloads, but silver swords are nowhere to be found.

You'll find some but a lot of the good stuff appears to be crafted. You'll find them in random dungeons and whatnot but you can also buy treasure maps from various merchants that will point you in more specific directions.

Is the loot random? A buddy and I were playing last night and we were doing the same quest at the same time. I found a chest in this little room and it had Assassin's Gloves in it. He gets there and it gave him Calvary Pants. He was bummed, lol.

Playing with POIs turned off has been such a relief! I'm actually exploring and experiencing the world now, not just mindlessly running in a straight line from ? to ?, checking them off one by one all Ubisoft-like (not that you HAVE TO do that anyway, but I really can't resist if they're there). Things happen dynamically as I visit different places now, instead of me already knowing something will happen because there's a ? there. Feels great. Highly recommended!

A small annoyance: All those low bridges preventing me from passing through with my boat. I want to go boating down the rivers, dammit, but it's not as fun when you have to get out every 100m.

Something i want to see modded in: No auto draw sword. No auto fighting stance.
If i sheathe my goddam sword it's supposed to stay there. Let me ignore enemies, loot and run.

I was fighting a creature (6 levels above me) in the woods. I was kicking his ass when he summoned a bunch of black wolves (even higher leveled). I had to run to save my skin but every time a wolf got too close Geralt would turn around.

So I just swam into Oxenfurt. . but how do you get a pass? I feel like I'm skipping a sidequest.

Hah, I just did the same. Tried getting in over the bridge, was denied, so I jumped into the river and swam ashore instead. Problem solved!

Regarding getting a pass:
There is at least one sidequest for that, yeah. It's given by a guy close to where you first arrive in Velen, I think. I failed it though, so I still don't have a pass! The quest description after failing it says something like "Geralt now had to find another way to get a pass", so I guess there are other ways.

I was happy with my ending,
Ciri always enters the portal I believe it's what happens after that is different. For me, the ending starts with Winter over White Orchard, you're back in the tavern you started the game in Dandelion, Zoltan, and Yennifer or Triss is there with you depending on who you chose to be with. Dandelion and Zoltan are drinking and arguing over something, Yennefer reminds Geralt that he's supposed to meet someone to go hunting. You eventually meet up with Ciri whose alive and well and do a few small quests with her as you hunt and Geralt talks while Ciri becomes more distant. When you get back to the tavern you see a Nilfgaadrian escort waiting, Ciri says that she's accepted Emhyr's offer and will go back to Nilfgaard and become Empress. Geralt accepts her choice since she's the one making it on her own. They hug and she gives Geralt her sword.

Ending montage follows, Geralt and Yennefer end up leading a simple romantic life far and away from politics.

You can get one from the Baron at some point. There are also like three ways to get a pass to Novingrad. It's amazing.

Just had sex with the

Not bad. I feel renewed in my quest to find....whoever.

Lol I'm talking to the daughter but I plan to go back and get the pass now I guess. Do you know the name of the quest or the area you get to when you arrive in Velen--I forgot.

Fallen Xbot (cannot continue gaining levels in this class)
Little help wrapping up "family business".
I found the daughter, heard stories about the mother - she dead - and I thought I was done minus reporting it to the Baron, so I went and did a few side quests. But after finally telling the baron it seems I still need to verify the wife is dead before I can complete this story line. Problem is, activating the quest just tells me to investigate leads into the wife's whereabouts with no breadcrumb to follow PR map indicators... I dont even know where that tiny fishing hut was where the man that helped them escape first told me about the monster that took Anna.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

How does one equip the Aeramas artifact? I need to look for a portal but it doesn't seem possible since I can't use the Aeramas.

Man fuck these garbage wraith bosses. Proof that the combat in this game is shit.

Combat is fine you just need to adapt.

Question: does anyone know where you can get that dank armor from the Go Your Way trailer? It looks like chainmail with a brown scarf

I believe you get a pass in the course of
doing the main story, so not really necessary unless you want to see everything early

Just do something else. You will get a lead eventually. If you don't want to wait:

Huh, that's awesome! I like how drastically different things can be. A far cry from a certain red, green or blue choice of the past.

Quick question of a spoilery nature regarding outcome of quests;

If I "romance" Keira does that affect anything? Like will Yen hate me or Triss not "romance" my Witcher parts?

So I just swam into Oxenfurt. . but how do you get a pass? I feel like I'm skipping a sidequest.

I know of three ways.

Complete the Bloody Baron questline

Go to the Pontar blockade near Novigrad, there should be a black market merchant somewhere

Go to the Pontar blockade near Novigrad, complete the contract from the notice board
